We consider developing a four-step one offgrid block hybrid method for the solution of fourth derivative Ordinary Differential Equations. Method of interpolation and collocation of power series approximate solution was used as the basis function to generate the continuous hybrid linear multistep method, which was then evaluated at non-interpolating points to give a continuous block method. The discrete block method was recovered when the continuous block was evaluated at all step points. The basic properties of the methods were investigated and said to be converge. The developed four-step method is applied to solve fourth derivative problems of ordinary differential equations from the numerical results obtained; it is observed that the developed method gives better approximation than the existing method compared with.

The Stability

The block hybrid collocation method with two off-step points is proposed for the direct solution of general third order ordinary differential equations. Both the main and additional methods are derived via interpolation and collocation of the basic polynomial. These methods are applied in block form to provide the approximation at five points concurrently. The stability properties of the block method are investigated. Some numerical examples are tested to illustrate the efficiency of the method. The block hybrid collocation method is also implemented to solve the nonlinear Genesio equation and the problem in thin film flow.

We describe the development of a 2-point block backward difference method (2PBBD) for solving system of nonstiff higher-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) directly. The method computes the approximate solutions at two points simultaneously within an equidistant block. The integration coefficients that are used in the method are obtained only once at the start of the integration. Numerical results are presented to compare the performances of the method developed with 1-point backward difference method (1PBD) and 2-point block divided difference method (2PBDD). The result indicated that, for finer step sizes, this method performs better than the other two methods, that is, 1PBD and 2PBDD.
