In recent years, strontium-substituted calcium phosphate bone cement (Sr-CPC) has attracted more and more attentions in the field of bone tissue repair due to its comprehensive advantages of both traditional CPC and Sr ions. In this study, a crucial Sr-containing α-Ca3–xSrx(PO4)2 salt has been synthesized using a simplified one-step method at lower synthesis temperature. A novel Sr-CPC has been developed based on the simple binary Sr-containing α-Ca3–xSrx(PO4)2/Ca4(PO4)2O cement powder. The physicochemical properties and hydration mechanism of this Sr-CPC at various Sr contents were intensively investigated. The setting product of this Sr-CPC after a set for 72 h is a single-phase Sr-containing hydroxyapatite, and its compressive strength slightly decreased and its setting time extended with the increase of Sr content. The hydration process included the initial formation of the medium product CaHPO4⋅2H2O (30 min∼1 h), the following complete hydration of Ca4(PO4)2O and the initially formed CaHPO4⋅2H2O (2∼6 h), and the final self-setting of α-Ca3–xSrx(PO4)2 (6 h∼). The compressive strength of Sr-CPC, which was closely related to the transformation rate of Sr-containing hydroxyapatite, tended to increase with the extension of hydration time. In addition, Sr-CPC possessed favorable cytocompatibility and the effect of Sr ions on cytocompatibility of Sr-CPC was not obvious at low Sr contents. The present study suggests α-Ca3–xSrx(PO4)2 is a kind of vital Sr-containing salt source which is useful to develop some novel Sr-containing biomaterials. In addition, the new Sr-containing cement system based on this simple binary α-Ca3–xSrx(PO4)2/Ca4(PO4)2O cement powder displayed an attractive clinical application potential in orthopedics.

The biggest disadvantage of conventional concrete is brittle and hard, in addition, its durability is not high. The low durability of concrete is due to the presence of calcium hydroxide at the intersection of coarse aggregate particles and hard cement powder. The introduction of coconut fiber and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibers into the concrete to improve the durability and flexibility of the concrete. In addition, the article also considers the effects of other additives such as rice husk ash, silica fume to study the performance of the structure as well as its durability when joining concrete mixes to create flexible concrete movable and more flexible than conventional concrete.

The Relationship

The fluidity of cement powder has a significant impact on the duration and labor costs in the process of transportation and shipment of cement. This determines the relevance of the task of finding mechanisms to control this parameter. During the production process, the fluidity of the cement powder is formed depending on the properties of the initial cement charge, the requirements for the thinness of the grinding to the finished product, the hardware design and the conditions of the process. In turn, the fluidity of cement affects the grinding process and the productivity of the mill. The rheological characteristics of the cement binder change over time depending on the physical properties of the material, environmental conditions and the equipment used for its storage. The reasons for the deterioration of the flow of cement powder is still not fully studied. The article is devoted to the study of the main factors affecting the fluidity of cement. The results of the statistical analysis of cement fluidity depending on the thinness of cement grinding (on the residue on the sieve №008 and the specific surface area by Blaine method) humidity, bulk weight and weight in the most compacted state. In addition, the relationship of production factors and cement fluidity is considered. Correlation and regression analysis shows that the fluidity is affected by a variable factor, which is not yet quantified.

The abundance of tile waste is used as a material innovation in the manufacture of concrete and paving. However, the results of research done by new researchers mostly only as filler material. The paving block which was added as a cement powder substitution material decreased compressive strength along with the tile waste percentage addition (Ridwan, 2017). Thus, researchers try to optimize tile waste treatment before being used in the paving blocks with raise the fuel temperature up to 900°C to obtain more amorphous pozzoland. Waste tile contains SiO?, CaAl?Si?O8, Fe?O ? and Mg? (SiO 4) on the testing of XRD so compliant as pozzoland material. This research used powder waste as a material of cement substitution with 0%, 5%, 7%, and 10% of cement weight with variation of fuel temperature 750 °C, 800 °C, 850 °C and 900°C. The results showed that by increasing the fuel temperature up to 900°C compressive strength increased by 5.9% and water absorption decreased by 14.5%. However, by increasing the percentage of tile waste, compressive strength decreased up to 7.2%. Testing is supported by the SEM results wich indicate that the greater percentage used then the paving surface is also more hollow.
