AbstractA collection of 55 Canadian amber Ceratopogonidae is described, including two new species, Protoculicoides ciliatus Borkent and Stilobezzia pikei Borkent. The male of Protoculicoides depressus Boesel is newly described and the two males previously identified as members of this species are designated holotype and paratype of P. ciliatus. A new key to the species of Protoculicoides Boesel is provided. A male genitalia of Peronehelea chrimikalydia Borkent is additionally described and a specimen that is possibly a gynandromorph, a female with an associated male genitalia or a new species of Peronehelea Borkent is described.

The minute litter bugs (Heteroptera: Schizopteridae) fauna from the Brazilian Amazon comprises only nine species described during the past four years. In this paper, the Schizopteridae fauna of an Amazonian savanna was surveyed, resulting in the discovery of two new species of Corixidea Reuter and a new species of Schizoptera (Cantharocoris) McAtee & Malloch: Corixidea graziae sp. nov., Corixidea quilombola sp. nov., and Schizoptera (Cantharocoris) savannensis sp. nov. The species C. graziae sp. nov. and C. quilombola sp. nov. can be distinguished from other Corixidea species by the shape of the process of mediotergite 8 while S. (Cantharocoris) savannensis sp. nov. can be recognized among species of its subgenus by a combination of the shape of the subgenital plate and right conjunctival appendage. The species herein described represent the first records of these genera for the Brazilian Amazon. We provide diagnoses, photographs of habitus, and illustrations of male genitalia.

Two new species and descriptions of variation in two previously-described species of Vietnamese Trichoptera are presented. Adult males were collected in Bạch Mã National Park, Thừa Thiên Huế Province, Vietnam. Two species in the genus Anisocentropus (Calamoceratidae) are examined here, with one new species and variations in the second species described. Two species in the family Hydroptilidae are examined, with descriptions of a new species in the genus Chrysotrichia and variation in a species of of Ugandatrichia. We provide illustrations of male genitalia for each species.

Two new species-groups of the cantharid genus Stenothmeus Bourgeois are defined, S. laterophysus species-group and S. notaticollis species-group. The S. laterophysus species-group is composed of two species, including S. laterophysus Švihla, 2004 and a new species, S. nigritibius Y. Yang et H. Liu, sp. nov., and characterized by the pitch black elytra and bicolored legs, the subrounded pronotum with widely rounded anterior angles and projecting posterior angles, male genitalia with slender ventral processes of parameres which are slightly bent inwards at apical parts, laterophyses tilting ventrally at an angle of more than 45° with dorsal plates, compressed at apical parts, as well as the slender spermathecal duct, extremely long spermatheca and diverticulum. The S. notaticollis species-group consists of five species, including S. notaticollis (Gorham, 1895), S. bourgeoisi Wittmer, 1974, S. tamil Švihla, 2011 and two new species, S. parameratus Y. Yang et S. Ge, sp. nov. and S. acutiapicis Y. Yang et X. Yang, sp. nov., which is differentiated from the S. laterophysus species-group by the more variable body coloration, elytra pitch black or black brown or pale-yellow, male genitalia with thick or flattened ventral processes of parameres which are diverging apically, laterophyses parallel to dorsal plates, expanded at apices, as well as the stout spermathecal duct, moderately long spermatheca and diverticulum. The above species are illustrated with photographs of habitus, male genitalia, abdominal sternites and internal genitalia of female. A key for the identification of these species is provided and a distribution map is presented.

The genus Alienia Fibiger, 2011 of the tribe Micronoctuini of Hypenodinae is revised. Two new species: Alienia fibigeri sp.n. and Alienia cambodiaa sp.n. are described from Cambodia; a new species, Alienia laosa sp.n. from Laos described. A key for identification of Alienia based on male genitalia is present. The adult and genitalia of the new species are illustrated.

Abstract—A synopsis of Dicliptera (Acanthaceae) for Brazil is presented. Six species are recognized: Dicliptera ciliaris, D. sexangularis, and D. squarrosa, widely distributed in South America; D. purpurascens, which ranges from the North Region of Brazil (in the state of Acre) to eastern Bolivia; D. gracilirama, a new species from the Atlantic Forest of northeastern Brazil; and D. granchaquenha, a new species recorded in dry and semideciduous forests in Bolivia and western Brazil, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Furthermore, we propose new synonyms and designate lectotypes for eleven names. An identification key to the six accepted Dicliptera species in Brazil is provided.

The Palaearctic species of the genus Trichardis Hermann, 1906 are reviewed. A new species, T. lehri sp. nov., is described. A new synonymy is established: T. leucocoma (van der Wulp, 1899) = T. afanasievae Lehr, 1964, syn. nov. The male of T. mongolica V. Richter, 1972 is described for the first time. External features and the male genitalia of T. lehri sp. nov., T. leucocoma (van der Wulp, 1899) and T. mongolica V. Richter, 1972 are illustrated with photographs.

Abstract Culex longitubus Somboon, Namgay & Harbach is described as a new species of the Mimeticus Subgroup of the subgenus Culex. The larva is most similar to the larva of Cx. tianpingensis Chen from China, but is distinguished by the length of the siphon and the anal papillae, the form of the comb scales and pecten spines, and the development of setae 7-P, 13-T, 1-X, and 4-X. The adults have wing markings and male genitalia similar to those of species of the Mimeticus Complex. Phylogenetic analysis of COI sequences revealed that the new species is closely related to Cx. murrelli Lien of the Mimulus Complex. The immature stages of the new species were found in stagnant pools and marshes at high altitudes in several districts of Bhutan.

A new genus and species, Unguitarsonemus paradoxus n. gen., n. sp. and a new species, Pseudotarsonemoides peruviensis n. sp. (Acari: Trombidiformes: Tarsonemidae), are described based on phoretic females collected on bark beetles Phloeotribus pilula and Ph. biguttatus, respectively, from Peru. A key to species of the genus Pseudotarsonemoides is provided.

Elongationa gen. nov., a new leafhopper genus (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Ledrinae) with one new species, E. hyalina sp. nov., is described and illustrated in detail. A checklist and key to species in the genus Midoria are provided including a new species, Midoria curvidentata sp. nov., described in this paper.

The Chorthippus biguttulus group distributed in the west Palaearctic, while intensively examined in Europe, is poorly known in the glacial refugia such as Anatolia. This produces constraints in making accurate statements about evolution and the biogeography of the group. The C. brunneus subgroup of this lineage is examined using large amounts of morphological and song data from Anatolia (Asian Turkey) and representatives from Europe. Song and morphology in combination suggested three species to be found in Anatolia. The first is C. bornhalmi Harz which is also known from south-east Europe. The other two are new species: Chorthippus antecessor sp. n. and Chorthippus relicticus sp. n.. Morphologically, C. antecessor sp. n. is the most aberrant species of the C. brunneus subgroup, but is similar to C. bornhalmi in song. The specific song and morphology (the aberrant number of stridulatory pegs) define C. relicticus as a new species and both also indicate that it is closely related to C. brunneus and C. jacobsi. A song and morphology based phyloylogenetic assumption for C. brunneus subgroup suggests C. antecessor, C. bornhalmi and C. miramae to constitute one clade and C. brunneus, C. jacobsi and C. relicticus another. The scenario suggested for their evolution assume the following steps: (i) divergence of C. bornhalmi from a C. antecessor like ancestor, (ii) derivation of an ancestral population (which later give rise to C. brunneus + C. jacobsi + C. relicticus) from a C. bornhalmi like ancestor, and (iii) later fragmentation of this ancestral population to result in the present three species (C. brunneus + C. jacobsi + C. relicticus). All of these events seem to be correlated with the climatic cycles during Pleistocene. The conclusion is that the two new species are range-restricted, vulnerable species as is the case for many other taxa present in the Mediterranean Taurus biodiversity hotspot.
