AbstractIn a taxonomic study of the genus Geodromicus Redtenbacher in South Korea, five species are recognized, two of which, G. abdominalis Zerche and G. beibienkoi Tikhomirova, are reported for the first time in South Korea, and G. hermani (Watanabe), previously recorded from South Korea, is reported as a misidentification of G. beibienkoi. A comparison of morphological features of South Korean Geodromicus species, a key, and illustrations of the diagnostic characters are provided.

The family Metzgeriaceae is represented in Russia and adjacent territories by the genus Metzgeria. Complete description of the genus Metzgeria as a basis for its broad circumscription (incl. Apometzgeria) is provided. Taxonomic study of the species of the genus Metzgeria known from Russia and adjacent territories (M. conjugata, M. furcata, M. leptoneura, M. pubescens, M. temperata, M. violacea) is carried out for the first time. Characterization and illustration of important diagnostic characters of abovementioned species, keys (dichotomic and polytomic) to these species, data on their ecology and distribution in Russia and worldwide are provided.

The monotypic Papua New Guinea genus Cheronella Miller is reexamined. The diagnostic characters of the genus are modified and its little known type species, Cheronella stuberi Miller, 1955, is redescribed. The characters of male genitalia are reported for the first time. The dorsal habitus, head, male genitalia, and other diagnostic morphological features are illustrated.

South Korean Alloplasta species were examined in this study. Prior to this study, only A. longipetiolaris of this genus was previously known from South Korea. Four species are new records, A. kuslitzky, A. nigripes, A. maruyamana and A. subgrisea, and A. brevipetiolaris sp. nov. is described as new to science. Furthermore males of two species, A. kuslitzky and A. subgrisea, are described for the first time. An illustrated identification key is provided for the Alloplasta species known from South Korea.

A taxonomic study of the intertidal Thinobius Kiesenwetter in Korea is presented. Three species are recognized, two of which are identified as new species (Thinobius jejuensis Lee & Ahn, sp. n. and Thinobius koreanus Lee & Yoo, sp. n.) and Thinobius kuroshio (Sawada) is recorded for the first time in Korea. A key, descriptions, habitus photographs, and line drawings of diagnostic characters of these three species are provided to facilitate identification.

Marenzelleria Mesnil, 1896 is a small group of spionid polychaetes comprising five valid species, all of which appear similar to each other. The identification of worms based on morphological features is often confusing, and thus molecular data have been suggested as providing crucial additional diagnostic characters. Here we summarize and map available records of M. viridis (Verrill, 1873) worldwide, and, based on the analysis of fragment sequences of COI, 16S, 18S, 28S and Histone 3, report this species for the first time from Norway. We also summarize and map the records of Marenzelleria from North America, distinguishing those based on morphology and molecular data. We report new records for Marenzelleria sp. from Baffin Is., Nunavut, Canada, and for M. neglecta Sikorski & Bick, 2004 from Washington, USA.

The South Korean fauna of the Hemihalictus series belonging to the genus Lasioglossum Curtis are reviewed. Twenty-seven species are recognized for the country. Lasioglossum laevoides Ebmer is recorded from the Korean Peninsula for the first time. The following species are newly recorded from South Korea: L. albipes villosum Ebmer, L. calceatum (Scopoli), L. kiautschouense (Strand), L. sakagamii Ebmer, L. speculinum (Cockerell), L. subfulvicorne subfulvicorne (Blüthgen), L. villosulum (Kirby), and L. vulsum (Vachal). Illustrated keys to females and males of South Korean species are provided. Bionomical data such as flight and flower records in South Korea are given.

Two new species of Korean needleflies, Perlomyia koreana sp. n. and P. lamellata sp. n. are described from North and South Korea. Additionally, two species, Paraleuctra paramalaisei sp. n. and Perlomyia baei sp. n. are described from South Korea. The previously unknown male of Perlomyia martynovi (Zhiltzova, 1975) is described from South Korean specimens associated with females. Leuctra fusca tergostyla Wu, 1973 comb. n. is proposed for the Far Eastern populations of the Eurosiberian L. fusca (Linnaeus, 1758). Three Leuctridae genera and species are reported from North Korea for the first time and three species are new country records for South Korea. The number of stonefly species known from the Korean Peninsula is increased to 82. A key is presented for the Leuctridae species known from Korean Peninsula including taxa that are expected to occur. Distributional maps are presented and additional notes on the habitats of Korean Leuctridae are given.
