AbstractThe American species of the genera Bryoporus Kraatz and Bryophacis Reitter are revised for America north of Mexico. Two new related genera are described: Bolitopunctus (type species Bryoporus muricatulus Hatch) and Neobolitobius (type species Lordithon varians Hatch).The following new species are described: Bryoporus niger, Bolitopunctus punctatissimus, Bryophacis arcticus, Bryophacis canadensis, and Bryophacis smetanai. Six new combinations are created: Bolitopunctus muricatulus (Hatch) [from Bryoporus], Neobolitobius varians (Hatch) [from Lordithon], Bryophacis discalis (Hatch) [from Mycetoporus], Bry. punctatissimus (Hatch) [from Mycetoporus], Bry. punctulatus (Hatch) [from Mycetoporus], and Bry. rubescens (Hatch) [from Lordithon].Use of the generic names Bryoporus Kraatz and Bryophacis Reitter is discussed. Lectotypes are designated for Bryoporus rufescens LeConte and its junior synonyms B. rubidus LeConte and B. flavipes LeConte, and Bryoporus testaceus LeConte and its junior synonym B. parvulus Casey.All species of Bryoporus, Bryophacis, Bolitopunctus, and Neobolitobius are described and illustrated with line drawings and scanning electron photomicrographs. Keys are provided to distinguish all genera of North American Bolitobiini and all species of the genera treated in this revision. The New World distribution of each species treated is mapped. The biology of each species, if known, is discussed.

The planthopper genus Haplaxius Fowler has a New World distribution. Kramer (1979) revised the New World Myndus Stål, consisting of 63 species. In that revision, Kramer synonymized Haplaxius and Paramyndus Fennah under Myndus, and P. cocois Fennah (1945), the type species of Myndus, as a junior synonym of M. crudus. Emeljanov (1989) reinstated the genus Haplaxius Fowler for the New World species formerly in Myndus. These consequent name changes have been accepted by all subsequent taxonomists (e.g., see Holzinger et al. 2002) but use of the name Myndus, when referring to New World species is still widely used, erroneously, in the applied literature.

The plant bug tribe Cylapini (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Miridae: Cylapinae) is diagnosed and a worldwide key to the genera of the tribe is provided. The taxonomic review of the New World Cylapini genera Amapacylapus Carvalho & Fontes,1968 and Cylapus Say, 1832 is provided, including a key to species, diagnoses and redescriptions of genera and most included species, and descriptions of two new species, Amapacylapus unicolor sp. nov. (Ecuador) and Cylapus luridus sp. nov. (Brazil). Illustrations of the male genitalia, color photographs of the adult and scanning electron micrographs of the selected species are provided. The genus Cylapocerus Carvalho & Fontes, 1968 syn. nov. is proposed as a junior synonym of Cylapus with all species currently placed in Cylapocerus transferred to Cylapus. The following new combinations are established: Cylapus amazonicus (Carvalho, 1989) comb. nov., Cylapus antennatus (Carvalho & Fontes, 1968) comb. nov., and Cylapus tucuruiensis (Carvalho, 1989) comb. nov. Peltidocylapus labeculosus (Bergroth, 1922) is transferred to the genus Amapacylapus as Amapacylapus labeculosus (Bergroth, 1922) comb. nov. Male neotype is designated for Cylapus tenuicornis Say, 1832. The following new country records are provided: Amapacylapus amapariensis Carvalho & Fontes, 1968 (Ecuador, Guyana); Cylapus amazonicus (Bolivia, Ecuador); Cylapus antennatus (Ecuador); Cylapus citus Bergroth, 1922 (Bolivia, Brazil, Guyana, Peru); Cylapus marginicollis (Distant, 1883) (Nicaragua, Panama); Cylapus ruficeps Bergroth, 1922 (Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador); Cylapus tenuicornis (USA); Cylapus tucuruiensis (Venezuela).

The Indo-Australian crowned weevil genus Asytesta Pascoe, 1865 is revised. Forty-one species are recognized, including18 that are new: A. alexandriae, A. alexriedeli, A. allisoni, A. biakana, A. cheesmanae, A. concolora, A. emarginata, A.fayae, A. frontalis, A. gressitti, A. julieae, A. marginalis, A. morobeana, A. sedlaceki, A. thompsoni, A. tuberculata, A.vivienae, and A. woodlarkiana, new species. One subspecies, A. lugubris bidentata Voss is elevated to species status, A.bidentata Voss, new status. Four species are newly synonymized: A. circulifera Lea, 1928 = A. rata Heller, 1910, A.definita Faust, 1898 = A. humeralis Pascoe, 1865, A. granulifera Lea, 1928 = A. aucta Faust, 1898, and A. setipes Lea,1928 = A. lugubris Heller, 1895 new synonyms. Six new species groups are proposed. Lectotypes are designated for 18species. Two species are transferred from Asytesta to other genera: A. maura Pascoe to Microporopterus Lea and A.ypsilon Heller to Meroleptus Faust, new combinations. A checklist and key for all crowned weevil genera, key to speciesgroups and species of Asytesta, adult habitus illustrations, distribution maps, and line drawings of diagnostic charactersare provided.A phylogeny for the genus based on 82 adult morphological characters (187 states) for 41 ingroup taxa is alsopresented. All genera and species of the crowned weevil group as redefined here (including Cyamomistus Heller,Eudyasmus Pascoe, Glochinorhinus Waterhouse, Nothotragopus Zimmerman, Panopides Pascoe, and Zygara Pascoe),were included in the analysis to test the monophyly of Asytesta. Monophyly of Asytesta was supported only with thesynonymy of the monotypic genus Zygara. Accordingly, Zygara is a new junior synonym of Asytesta and Zygara doriae (Kirsch) is returned to its original combination with Asytesta; A. doriae Kirsch resurrected status.

The whitefly fauna of the Canary Islands (Spain) comprises 21 named species distributed amongst 12 genera, includingfour species described here—Aleyrodes bencomiae Hernández-Suárez and Martin sp. nov., Aleyrodes laurisilvae Hernán-dez-Suárez and Martin sp. nov., Bemisia euphorbiarum Hernández-Suárez and Malumphy sp. nov. and Bemisia reyesiHernández-Suárez and Martin sp. nov. Nomenclatural changes comprise the four new species, one revalidated species (Si-phoninus finitimus Silvestri stat. rev.), and two revised synonymies (Siphoninus phillyreae multitubulatus Goux becomesa junior synonym of S. finitimus Silvestri and is removed from synonymy with S. phillyreae (Haliday), and the genus Be-misiella Danzig becomes a junior synonym of Asterobemisia Trehan; both the latter genera are removed from synonymywith Bemisia Quaintance & Baker). Also, we have provided detailed discussions and illustrations of eight distinctive pu-parial forms of the Bemisia afer complex with scanning electron microphotographs (SEMs), line drawings and habitusphotographs. In addition to the taxa described and discussed here, there are two new records for the Canary Islands,Dialeurodes citri (Ashmead) and Paraleyrodes minei Iaccarino. For each of the species already known and named priorto this study we include a brief account including its world distribution, its host-plant range in the Canary Islands, andfurther notes on host range beyond the Canaries. The general puparial morphology of each species is illustrated with acombination of line-drawings and habitus photographs. The genus Eulibitia was described by Roewer including three species from Colombia and Ecuador: Eulibitia maculata Roewer, 1912, E. annulipes Roewer, 1912 and E. sexpunctata Roewer, 1914. Herein, the genus is revisited and only the type species, Eulibitia maculata Roewer, 1912 is maintained from the previous configuration. Eulibitia sexpunctata is transferred to Ambatoiella Mello- Leitão, 1943 and E. annulipes is considered as Cosmetinae incertae sedis. Acromares lateralis Goodnight & Goodnight, 1943 and Paramessa castanea (Sørensen, 1932) are here considered junior subjective synonyms of Messatana scalaris (Sørensen, 1932) and Eulibitia maculata, respectively. Brachylibitia Mello-Leitão, 1941, currently a junior synonym of Platymessa, is regarded as a synonym of Eulibitia. Platymessa Mello-Leitão, 1941, with two species, and the monotypic genera Messatana Strand, 1942 and Paramessa Mello-Leitão, 1933, are synonymized with Eulibitia Roewer, 1912, yielding the following new combinations: Eulibitia ectroxantha (for Brachylibitia ectroxantha Mello-Leitão, 1941), E. h-inscriptum (for Platymessa h-inscripta Mello-Leitão, 1941) and E. scalaris (for Libitia (Messa) scalaris Sørensen, 1932). Eulibitia is re-diagnosed and five new species are described: E. castor sp. nov., E. pollux sp. nov., E. clytemnestra sp. nov., E. leda sp. nov. and E. helena sp. nov. A key to the nine Eulibitia species is presented; the morphology of Eulibitia is compared with that of Libitia, Libitiella and Ambatoiella.

A new whitefly genus, Rudisculptus gen. nov. is described for its type species Rudisculptus caudalis gen. et sp. nov. feeding on Orophea katschallica Kurz (Annonaceae) from the Andaman Islands, India. Rudisculptus gen. nov. is similar to the New World genus, Aleuropleurocelus Drews & Sampson, 1956 and an Old World genus, Tetralicia Harrison, 1917 in pupal morphology, but differs in having the first abdominal setae, thoracic tracheal pores, caudal furrow, differentiated cephalothorax in slide mounts, the lingula excluded beyond the vasiform orifice. The new genus also differs from an Old World genus, Regiominutus Dubey, 2021 in habitus, pattern of wax secretion, shape, size, cuticle colour, raised lateral margin, extension of segment sutures and the lingula reaching outside the margin of the vasiform orifice, and in having the thoracic tracheal folds. Orophea katschallica is recorded as a new host plant for the whiteflies. Images of puparial habitus and types, line drawings and scanning electron microscope (SEM) microphotographs are provided.

The present paper gives a further study of the spider genus Leptonetela Kratochvíl, 1978. A total of twenty-seven species are reported, including seven known species, thirteen new species, seven new combinations and four new synonyms. Leptonetela kanellisi (Deeleman-Reinhold, 1971), type species for genus, is redescribed based on the specimens from Greece. The new species are: Leptonetela chiosensis sp. nov., L. gittenbergeri sp. nov. from Greece; L. flabellaris sp. nov., L. lineata sp. nov., L. mengzongensis sp. nov., L. mita sp. nov., L. parlonga sp. nov., L. rudicula sp. nov., L. sexdentata sp. nov., L. tianxingensis sp. nov., L. yaoi sp. nov. and L. zhai sp. nov. from China; L. pungitia sp. nov. from Vietnam. The new combinations are: Leptonetela hangzhouensis (Chen et al., 1984) comb. nov. and Leptonetela microdonta (Xu & Song, 1983) comb. nov. transferred from Leptoneta; Leptonetela identica (Chen et al., 2010) comb. nov., Leptonetela lophacantha (Chen et al., 2010) comb. nov., Leptonetela megaloda (Chen et al., 2010) comb. nov., Leptonetela nuda (Chen et al., 2010) comb. nov. and Leptonetela robustispina (Chen et al., 2010) comb. nov. transferred from Qianleptoneta. The new synonyms are: Qianleptoneta lycotropa Chen et al., 2010 is a junior synonym of Leptonetela danxia Lin & Li, 2010; Qianleptoneta triangula Chen et al., 2010 is a junior synonym of Leptonetela digitata Lin & Li, 2010; Qianleptoneta sublunata Chen et al., 2010 is a junior synonym of Leptonetela reticulopecta Lin & Li, 2010 and Qianleptoneta multiseta Chen et al., 2010 is a junior synonym of Leptonetela tetracantha Lin & Li, 2010. One new genus of the tribe Ledrini, Yelahanka gen. nov. is described with Petalocephala granulosa Distant as its type species. The genus is characterised by the flexing of the forewing laterad of a strongly carinate or keeled outer claval vein and the claval veins fused in the distal two thirds. Seven new species, Yelahanka canaraica sp. nov. (India: Karnataka), Y. kodaiensis sp. nov. (India: Tamil Nadu), Y. montana sp. nov. (India: Tamil Nadu), Y. nepalica sp. nov. (Nepal), Y. sikkimensis sp. nov. (India: Sikkim), Y. shillongensis sp. nov. (India: Meghalaya) and Y. trifida sp. nov. (India: Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh) are described and illustrated. The following new combinations are proposed: Yelahanka bainbriggei (Distant) comb. nov., Y. granulosa (Distant) comb. nov., Y. punctata (Walker) comb. nov. and Y. tabulata (Distant) comb. nov.; originally punctata was placed in the genus Ledra Fabricius and remaining species were placed in Petalocephala Stål. Petalocephala bainbriggei Distant 1916 is treated as a junior synonym of Y. granulosa (Distant 1910) syn. nov. and P. tabulata Distant 1908 is treated as a junior synonym of Yelahanka punctata (Walker 1851) syn. nov. Y. granulosa is newly recorded from Africa (Tanzania and Kenya) and Malaya. Relationships of the new genus with other genera of Ledrini are discussed and a key to species of the genus is also provided.

AbstractThe North American species of the genus Olophrum Erichson are revised. Seven species are recognized, the holarctic species O. latum Mäklin, O. boreale Gyllenhal, O. consimile Gyllenhal, and O. rotundicolle C. R. Sahlberg; the eastern North American species O. obtectum Erichson, and the new species O. cascadeuse known from northern California and eastern Oregon and O. idahoense known from southern Idaho.Lectotypes are designated for O. marginatum Mäklin (= O. consimile), O. parvulum Mäklin (= O. consimile), O. convexum Mäklin (= O. rotundicolle), and O. convexicolle LeConte (= O. rotundicolle). The following new synonymy was established: O. bernhauerianum Scheerpeltz, O. recticolle Scheerpeltz, O. recticolle curtipenne Scheerpeltz are synonyms of O. consimile; O. quesneli Hatch is a synonym of O. boreale; and O. brevicolle Bernhauer is a synonym of O. latum. All species are described and illustrated with scanning electron photomicrographs and line drawings, five maps showing the North American distribution of each species are provided, and a key is presented to aid in the identification of the species. All available records and biological data for the species are provided.
