AbstractAn illustrated key to the genera of Braconinae from America north of Mexico is provided. Lapicida aquatica Quicke gen.nov. and sp.nov. from Ontario and Iowa, and Compsobraconoides robustus Quicke gen.nov. and sp.nov. from Texas, Florida, and Mexico are described and illustrated. Bracon albispina Cameron is transferred to Compsobraconoides and a key is provided to enable its separation from Compsobraconoides rufus Quicke sp.nov. Chartobracon van Achterberg is recorded from the New World for the first time and a new species, C. canadensis Quicke sp.nov. from Canada, is described, illustrated, and distinguished from C. huggerti van Achterberg from Europe. Seliodus Brèthes is synonymized with Bracon Fabricius on the authority of C. van Achterberg. Relationships of the new genera are briefly discussed and notes are provided on all of the Nearctic genera.

In the past, various authors have placed many species in genera that are now understood to be restricted to other regions of the world. Thus, in Africa, species of soft scale (Hemiptera: Sternorrhyncha: Coccomorpha: Coccidae) with this problem are those in Ceronema Maskell, a genus probably restricted to Australia; Ceroplastodes Cockerell, probably restricted to the New World; and Inglisia Maskell, which is restricted to New Zealand. The placement of these species is reviewed here. Four of the known Ceronema species are placed in three new monotypic genera, Neoceronema gen. nov., Illovococcus gen. nov. and Bugandacoccus gen. nov., as Neoceronema africanum (Macfie) comb. nov., N. brachystegiae (Hall) comb. nov., Illovococcus mobilis (Brain) comb. nov. and Bugandacoccus gowdeyi (Newstead) comb. nov.; Ceroplastodes ritchiei Laing and C. zavatarii Bellio are transferred to Drepanococcus Williams & Watson, as D. ritchiei (Laing) comb. nov. and D. zavattarii (Bellio), comb. nov., and Inglisia grevilliae Hall, I. pluvialis Hodgson and I. theobromae Newstead are transferred to Cryptinglisia Cockerell as C. grevilliae (Hall) comb. nov., C. pluvialis (Hodgson) comb. nov. and C. theobromae (Newstead) comb. nov. Keys are provided to all Drepanococcus and Cryptinglisia species, and all the African species discussed are illustrated. In addition, another new genus of African Coccidae is described, Testudovestis gen. nov., to take a new species somewhat similar to Eucalymnatus Cockerell: T. africana spec. nov. In addition, a new species of Coccus L.: Coccus moorei, spec. nov., and a new species of mealybug (Heliococcus tinglei spec. nov., Pseudococcidae), are described, both from mainland Africa. The lecanodiaspid Lecanodiaspis zygophylli Hodgson is also recorded from Nigeria for the first time.

Pangrapta Hübner, 1818 was erected for the North American species P. decoralis Hübner, 1818 as its type species. The genus Pangrapta presently consists of about 100 species, and is widely distributed in China and surrounding regions, as well as in the New World (Hu & Wang, 2013). In this article, three new species, P. nanlingensis sp. n., P. jianfenglingensis sp. n. and P. hainanensis sp. n., are described from China. Each of them is superficially similar to the species, P. neorecusata (Hu & Wang, 2013), P. perturbans (Walker, 1858) and P. pannosoides (Holloway, 2005), correspondently. The known Southeast Asian species, P. shivula (Guenée, 1852), is reported for the first time from China. Adults and genitalia are illustrated. The type series of all described species (including holotypes) are deposited in Southwest University of Science and Technology (SWUST), Mianyang, China.

This research presents three new species of carnivorous sponges from the family Cladorhizidae from the Great Australian Bight, South Australia. This research also shows a clear separation within the species currently known as Cladorhiza into those with an arbuscular or tree-like morphology from the Atlantic, to those of differing morphologies and propose three new genera, i.e. Bathytentacular gen. nov., Abyssosdiskos gen. nov. and Nullarbora gen. nov. and the resurrection of an old genus Axoniderma. nov. The three new species described in this paper are Nullarbora heptaxia sp. nov., Abyssocladia oxyasters sp. nov. and Lycopodina hystrix sp. nov. A new species in the family Guitarridae, Guitarra davidconryi sp. nov., a family closely related to the carnivorous sponges is also described in this paper. These new species are the first recorded carnivorous species from South Australia and increase the number of species recorded from around Australia to 25.

AbstractThe taxonomy and biology of New World species of Chrysolampinae are reviewed with diagnoses given for the subfamily, genera, and species. A key to the species of Chrysolampus and a summary of geographic distribution and information on host and floral associations are presented. Three new species are described from North America (Chrysolampus improcerus, C. luridus and C. elegans); Chrysolampus lycti Crawford is transferred to Perilampus and synonymized with the European species P. micans Dalman. The genus Chrysomalla is recorded in the New World for the first time based on the new species Chrysomalla hesperis. An explanation of the historical biogeography of the genera is proposed that is consistent with Late Cretaceous and Tertiary geological, botanical, and climatic information. It is suggested that the extant species are descendents of elements of a widely distributed arid biota.

In this paper, seven new species of the family Photidae from Korean waters are described and illustrated in detail. Among them, Exiliphotis petilasp. nov. is a monotype of the newly reported Exiliphotisgen. nov., which is characterized by slenderer and more elongate pereopods 5–7 than those of other genera of the family Photidae. The genus Latigammaropsis is reported for the first time from Korean waters based on the description of Latigammaropsis careocavatasp. nov., which is differentiated from other Gammaropsis group by having weakly sexual dimorphic gnathopods 2, those have simple palmar margins in both sexes. Three new species of Photis are also described: Photis broncasp. nov., Photis posterolobussp. nov., and Photis longicarpussp. nov. The formerly misidentified Photis longicaudata from Japan and China as well as the Korean material could be classified as a new species, P. broncasp. nov. For that, the syntypes of P. longicaudata were re-examined, and lectotype and paralectotypes were newly designated in this study. Photis broncasp. nov. is characterized by quadrate tooth on the palmar margin medially on gnathopod 2 in both sexes. Photis posterolobussp. nov. shows a pointed posterior lobe on the ischium and a well-developed process of the propodus on male gnathopod 2. Photis longicarpussp. nov. can be distinguished from other species of the genus by very elongate carpus of male gnathopod 1. Two new species belonging to the genus Podoceropsis are also reported: Podoceropsis insinuomanussp. nov. has a strongly bisinuous palmar margin on male gnathopod 2, and Podoceropsis pseudoclavapessp. nov. differs from the closely related species of Podoceropsis clavapes by different shape of the palmar margin and shorter dactylus of male gnathopod 2. Additionally, a key to the Korean species of Photidae is provided.

Nine species of Tobrilus in Canada, including three new species, are described and illustrated. Tobrilus filipjevi n. sp. differs from T. longus by the greater distance between the pocket teeth and by the longer spicules. Tobrilus parapellucidus n. sp. differs from T. pellucidus by the more posterior vulva, male with 10 supplements, and by the ductus ejaculatorius beginning closer to supplement 1. Tobrilus sablensis n. sp. differs from T. allophysis by having greater body length, larger stoma, and greater distance between the pocket teeth in the female. In the male the papillae are absent between supplements and the spicules are longer. The female of T. hopei is described for the first time and has a concentric vaginal musculature similar to T. longus, but differs by greater body length and more widely spaced pocket teeth. Other species in Canada include T. aberrans, T. pellucidus, T. hopei, T. longicaudatus, T. longus, and T. breviductus. Keys to the Canadian males and females are provided. The species T. longicaudatus is proposed as a new species and named T. gagarini n. sp.

A new empoascine genus, Membranacea Qin & Zhang, gen. n., with three new species (M. spinata Qin & Zhang, sp. n., M. unijugata Qin & Zhang, sp. n. and M. plana Qin & Zhang, sp. n.), from China are described. In addition, the genus Bhatasca Dworakowska, 1995 is newly recorded from the Chinese mainland and a new species, B. rectangulata Qin & Zhang, sp. n., is described. The genus Ghauriana Thapa, 1985 is reported for the first time from China and a new species, G. sinensis Qin & Zhang sp. n. is added to the Chinese typhlocybine fauna. Keys to all species in each genus are given. Habitus photos and illustrations of male genitalia of these new species are also provided.

Two new genera of flea beetles are described and illustrated: Brasilplatus Oliveira, Linzmeier & Konstantinov new genus, monotypic, type species B. bahianus Oliveira, Linzmeier & Konstantinov new species, and Tupiniquim Linzmeier, Oliveira & Konstantinov new genus, containing two species, T. pronotalis Linzmeier, Oliveira & Konstantinov new species and T. confusa Linzmeier, Oliveira & Konstantinov new species and type species of the genus. These are the first described genera of flea beetles inhabiting leaf litter in Brazil. Brasilplatus belongs to the subtribe Monoplatina and is compared to other Monoplatina genera known to occur in leaf litter or moss cushions: Andersonaltica Linzmeier & Konstantinov, 2012, Apleuraltica Bechyné, 1956 and Ulrica Scherer, 1962. Tupiniquim is unique among New World flea beetles, it allies cannot be immediately identified. Here it is compared to several New World and Old World genera.

Paratagalis zikani sp. nov. from Brazil is described. A revised diagnosis of Paratagalis Monte, 1943, is provided. Morphological variation and sexual dimorphism of Paratagalis spinosus Monte, 1943, are described for the first time. A key to the Saicinae genera of the New World is provided.
