Information Systems Business Value (ISBV) has been a key research topic for the IS research community. While the vast majority of ISBV research demonstrates the positive relationship between IS and firm performance, the fundamental question of the causal relationships between IS and business value remains partly unexplained. Moreover, researchers do not share a unified understanding of ISBV concepts. Therefore, this research intends to synthesize the past 30 years of empirical ISBV research, identify the gaps and shortcomings, conceptualize the ISBV concepts, and propose possibilities for further research that will widen the current narrowly shared ISBV bottom line. We aim to synthesize (1) different operationalization of concepts in existing ISBV research; (2) IS determinants, consequences, and the relations among the variables; (3) the role of contextual factors; and (4) the adopted theoretical views.

Information Systems (IS) are complex artifacts which could be viewed as playing the role of an interface between the organizational structure and processes and the technological capabilities. IS design is influenced by—and has an influence on—its outer environment: organizational context. Much of past research in IS is of explanatory nature and has largely focused on the processes and functions of outer environment, including organizations and individuals. There is not sufficient theoretical elaboration on the organizational and technological connections of the IS artifacts. Some of the most prominent theoretical models of IS do not incorporate the very nature of information systems to a substantial extent. The information content of these models is also questionable. IS research has been criticized by some members of the research community for lack of identity and lack of relevance.

This article develops a Sustainability Informatics Framework, a framework that connects Information Technology with sustainability and is based on the Belief-Action-Outcome and Energy Informatics frameworks. The triple-bottom line (People, Planet, and Profit) is adopted as a criterion for measuring sustainability and three sustainability indices are first formulated and then visualized using Sustainability Dashboards. This framework is then used to analyze transportation systems. This leads to the development of research propositions that can expand the role of the Information Systems discipline to research on areas of sustainable nation building.

Because of their ability to enhance productivity, computers have become ubiquitous in the workplace. By the early 1990s the use of computers in the workplace reached a per capita penetration that the telephone took 75 years to achieve (Webster & Martocchio, 1992). During the past several decades, there has been both speculation and hard research related to the psychological effects of computer technology. More recently the role of attitudes towards computers in influencing the acceptance and use of computer-based management information systems (MIS) has been highlighted by a growing number of MIS researchers. Generally, these studies focus on the negative attitudes towards computers and concerns about the impact of MIS on individual performance in the workplace.

System development structure applied is Iterasi. Design of information system applied is context diagram, data flow diagram, and flowchart. Design of this financial position report accounting information system according to statement of financial accounting standard SAK ETAP and output  consisted of information of accumulated fixed assets, receivable list, transaction summary of cash, transaction summary of bank and financial position report.

Over the years , Information System has advanced so much that we are able to operate better in an organization which is better than what used to happen in the past. Information Systems derived from the term data processing. The purpose of Information Systems is to provide efficient and reliable ways on how to perform functions in an organization. Computers have important role in evolution of Information System. There have been a lot of applications of Information System in the organizations today including human resource operation as the main field of concern, accounting and  finance, logistics and planning among others. Internet is the recent development in the use of Information.  Studies have been carried out on Information System and its application but none of the studies have looked at the role Information System plays in typical organizational operational functions especially in the Human Resource Operations. This therefore leaves the gap in research that this paper sought to breach. The study is conducted through analysis of literature review from journals, and surveys. The paper therefore recommends that organizations should apply Information Systems in Human Resources operations  in order to reap these benefits.

This paper provides a framework comprising of research agenda explicating the relations between IT Capability and Firm Innovation. Firm innovation is conceptualized as a combination of three constructs: networks, capabilities (absorptive capacity), and commercialization of innovations (CI). These three constructs have received a very lukewarm response from the IS research community. Inclusion of these three constructs, and examining how IT- capability affects the relationships between these constructs, is essential to examining the role of IT in innovation at the firm-level. Five research agendas are identified.

Geographic information systems have an important role in the science of history. Geographic information systems are able to integrate various data in the study of history, combine, analyze, and map the results. This journal aims to examine the role of geographic information systems in geography. The method used is descriptive analysis method. The process of searching, collecting, and analyzing data is done by using literature studies from various reliable sources, such as books, journals, scientific articles, and academic archives and taking data on the distribution of cultural heritage in the City of Jambi. The results of the analysis show that the role of geographic information systems in the history of science as a tool to improve spatial or spatial analysis. in detail, the role of geographic information systems in the study of historical science can 1) provide historical data in a spatial form in maps, such as the map of the distribution of cultural heritage in Jambi City, 2) be able to see the comparison of historical facts from several regions, 3) make it easy to associate and correlating with the surrounding environment, 4) regionalization can be made related to the area of ​​power in the past, 5) makes it easy to answer the question "where" and "why there. And understand the relationship between humans and the environment, and how they affect the dynamics of life in the past. Thus, the role of GIS as an analytical tool in history is very important because it is able to provide data spatially and deepen the analysis of historical data.

The progressive use of information systems and information technology has the potential to transform the way complex organisations are managed and the way they operate. This article reports the findings of a study undertaken to examine the importance of various factors related to the progressive use of information technology in Australian hospitals. Our analysis of data from 84 hospitals shows that hospital size has a significant positive relationship with the progressive use of information technology, as does the chief executive officer's attitude to information technology; however chief executive officer participation in information technology activities does not. The implications of these findings for the role of top management are discussed.

As information technologies have evolved, so too has our understanding of the information systems that employ them. A significant part of this evolving understanding is the role of the human contexts within which information systems are situated. This, in turn, has led to the need for appropriate methods of studying information systems in their context of use. Just as decisions about information systems need to be considered within their contexts of use, so also do choices about the appropriate research methodologies to employ for studying them. Increasingly, qualitative methods are chosen as an appropriate method for studying contextual aspects of information systems development, use and impact.
