The lack of adoption of eGovernment by citizens has been cited to be one of the reasons for failures of most eGovernment initiatives. A systematic literature review was conducted to shade light on the current status of the research in this area with a focus on the research goals, research design, research strategies, scientific theories used and research methods. Major databases indexing reputable journals in information systems and e-government area were searched by using keywords to collect relevant articles for analysis. A total of 19 articles were identified which indicated that empirical studies with survey as research strategy and questionnaires as a data collection method dominates the publications list while the use of case studies as research strategy was found to be scarce. The review has also highlighted several limitations related to the choice of research methods and its implication on furthering the understanding of the research on this topic.

Experienced-based methods are growing in popularity and are increasingly being utilized in a variety of research programs and investigations. They enable researchers and participants to co-design research strategies and outcomes and subsequently propose solutions to potential problems in the partnership. By applying an experience-based methods lens, we sought to augment traditional qualitative interviewing methodologies by using a novel method we named “one-sentence, one-word” (1S1W). To apply our 1S1W method, we used a phenomenological study that examined the relationship between the risk of falling and the desire of master athletes to engage in competitive sports. Participants reflected and recorded their subjective experiences in the form of one-sentence and one-word responses, at the beginning and end of the interview, respectively. Half of all participants associated the risk of falls with negative words; however, all participants used positive sentences to describe their experience as master athletes. Considering other qualitative findings, this method, while brief and relatively simple, gave a very rich and accurate depiction of participants’ overall experiences (e.g., themes). The 1S1W data collection method complements traditional qualitative approaches and encourages participant reflection; we believe our method has applicability across the research process. In one word, it isolates the ESSENCE.

Traditional research methods are inadequate to predict and explain consumer behavior accurately in some cases. Marketing discipline tries to benefit from new technological developments in order to make up the deficiency subjects’ competence and willingness to express how they feel when they face with stimulus in traditional data collection method has an effect on the success of the method. In traditional methods, subjects often cannot remember or know the correct answer, or even if they know the answer they will give answers that satisfy the researcher. The inadequacy in traditional techniques has driven the researchers to evaluate theconsumer response more accurately. It is observed that in recent years neuromarketing techniques began to be used extensively to measure consumer responses accurate in marketing field. Although neuromarketing is commonly used in marketing field, there are some questions about the efficiency of the method. This study emphasizes the efficiency on the general evaluation of neuromarketing techniques and criticism of it. The aim of this study is to indicate the historical development of application of neuro science on marketing and consumer behavior, and to establish the future of neuro science, its opportunities and threats.

Purpose This review article introduces research methods for personalization of intervention. Our goals are to review evidence-based practices for improving social communication impairment in children with autism spectrum disorder generally and then how these practices can be systematized in ways that personalize intervention, especially for children who respond slowly to an initial evidence-based practice. Method The narrative reflects on the current status of modular and targeted interventions on social communication outcomes in the field of autism research. Questions are introduced regarding personalization of interventions that can be addressed through research methods. These research methods include adaptive treatment designs and the Sequential Multiple Assignment Randomized Trial. Examples of empirical studies using research designs are presented to answer questions of personalization. Conclusion Bridging the gap between research studies and clinical practice can be advanced by research that attempts to answer questions pertinent to the broad heterogeneity in children with autism spectrum disorder, their response to interventions, and the fact that a single intervention is not effective for all children. The library and information science (LIS) profession is influenced by multidisciplinary research strategies and techniques (research methods) that in themselves are also evolving. They represent established ways of approaching research questions (e.g., qualitative vs. quantitative methods). This chapter reviews the methods of research as expressed in literature, demonstrating how, where, and if they are inter-connected. Chu concludes that popularly used approaches include the theoretical approach, experiment, content analysis, bibliometrics, questionnaire, and interview. It appears that most empirical research articles in Chu's analysis employed a quantitative approach. Although the survey emerged as the most frequently used research strategy, there is evidence that the number and variety of research methods and methodologies have been increasing. There is also evidence that qualitative approaches are gaining increasing importance and have a role to play in LIS, while mixed methods have not yet gained enough recognition in LIS research.

Public awareness is a significant factor in the battle against online identity theft (phishing). Advancing public readiness can be a strategic protection mechanism for citizens' vulnerability and privacy. Further, an effective research strategy against phishing is the combination of increased social awareness with software quality and social computing. The latter will decrease phishing victims and will improve information systems quality. First, the authors discuss recent research results on software quality criteria used for the design of anti-phishing technologies. Second, it is argued that the dynamics of social surroundings affect citizens' trust and can compromise social security. Third, the authors outline basic research needs and strategic steps to be taken for timely citizens' protection. Last, the authors propose strategic research directions for improving information systems total quality management through international collaborative research and by focusing on: i) increasing social awareness; ii) predicting information phishing attempts; iii) adopting social computing approaches.

The proliferation of images and their increased use in academic and everyday information practices has sparked an interest in visual literacy as an area of research and library instruction. Teaching approaches and student learning are examined using a variety of research methods and utilizing images in the research process. This paper provides a review of research methodology adopted in empirical studies of visual literacy that were published in academic journals between 2011 and 2017. The results indicate that one third (33%) of the examined studies adopted a quantitative approach with surveys being the most popular strategy. Qualitative and mixed-methods studies were a minority but represented a greater variety of strategies and data collection techniques. One third (33%) of the studies in the sample did not report any research methodology. Most of the studies (87%) used visual evidence in the research process.
