By assuming that the recently found cosmic acceleration is a genuine and ever present effect, we show that, the resultant modified Friedman model is free from the horizon and flatness problems; and there is no need to invoke the additional “inflationary” initial phase as a separate ingredient.

Abstract This study examines the potential defending effects of the diatom, Amphora coffeaeformis, as a feed additive against the deleterious effects (mainly on gonads) caused by microplastics (MPs) in the Nile tilapia, Oreochromes niloticus. Male tilapia groups were pre-fed diets with four different supplementation levels of A. coffeaeformis (0%, 2.5%, 5% and 7.5%) for 70 days, then were exposed to 10 mg/L MPs for 15 days. The results showed significantly (p < 0.05) higher numbers of erythrocytes, but significant decreases (p < 0.05) in the number of RBCs, Hb, Ht, platelets, and eosinophil percentages. Testicular histological degenerative changes and testis-ova were found in the MPs-exposed fish. Thus, A. coffeaeformis supplementation displayed ameliorative properties that detoxified the negative effects of MPs. This study provides a better understanding of the reproductive injuries caused by MPs and provides evidence for the use of A. coffeaeformis as a natural remedy in freshwater tilapia.

The peloids are the important natural remedy all over the world. Balneological and physical properties of eight Mongolian peloids collected from Lake Khyaraan (Selenge province), Tushigtsagaan (Selenge province) and Nogoon (Gobi-Altai province), Lake Kholboolj (Bayankhongor province), Lake Khundagan (Tuv province), Lake Tsaidam and Nokhoi Unadag (Arkhangai province), Lake Gurvan nuur (Khentii province), have been studied using analytical techniques. According the research we have determined physical properties of peloids from eight lakes (specific weight, moisture, porosity and moisture capacity) and balneological properties (liminess, thermal conductivity, heat capacity and the ability to retain heat) respectively. In result of the research, the physicochemical characteristics of the peloids are correcting standard satisfactory which treatment needs.

This article explores whether complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) users view CAM as a unified concept or individualize the modalities. A survey about the beliefs and concerns surrounding the use of 22 CAM modalities was posted to a random sample of 1,308 people in five rural and two metropolitan localities in Victoria, Australia. The response rate was 40% (n = 459). Overall, 91% of respondents were found to either have used one CAM modality (85%, n = 386) or be open to future use (6%, n = 33). Respondents did not view CAM as a unified concept. Each modality was used by people with different characteristics and beliefs about health care. However, it was practical to divide the 22 CAM modalities into four categories that we have named natural remedy, wellness, accepted, and established modalities. The four categories lie along a set of continua extending from natural remedy modalities and ‘‘holistic health care’’ beliefs at one end to established modalities and a belief in the tenets of conventional medicine at the other. We were able to develop a model to show this diagrammatically.
