<p>This study aims to discern the role of nepotism and cronyism in the weakening of economic<br />performance of the government institutions through exposure to this practice in the three<br />Arab Countries; Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, The study relied on the analysis of what was<br />stated in the related literature which illustrate the effect of using nepotism and Cronyism in<br />the employment process in a governmental position, to result in a slowdown and stumbled in<br />the delivery of government services to citizens. After analyzing how the practice of nepotism<br />and cronyism in the three countries, the study found the following results:<br /> Nepotism and cronyism are practiced not only in developing countries, but also in<br />advanced countries.<br /> Using nepotism and cronyism in employment process is unethical behavior.<br /> The use of nepotism and cronyism in the public sector is much more than private sector.<br /> Nepotism and cronyism can be considered as a part of the national culture in Arab<br />countries.<br /> Nepotism and cronyism have negative economic repercussions, both at the level of the<br />national economy, or the per capita income level. Because the salaries paid to staff<br />recruited through them considered as a burden on the state treasury. Also, the large<br />number of times to visit the citizen government department, to get the same service, lead<br />to the loss of his income as a transition expenses.<br /> Nepotism and cronyism are from reasons of administrative corruption in the studied<br />countries.</p>

Combustion chamber leakage, caused mainly by blowby, results in a reduced engine performance and higher fuel consumption. The blowby rate is, to some extent, determined by the design of the piston-ring-cylinder assembly (PRC) and the blowby rate varies throughout the life of an engine due to wear of the said assembly. The paper presents a quantitative evaluation of the influence of the combustion chamber blowby on the engine performance and fuel consumption on the example of two diesel engines: older generation naturally aspirated indirect injection diesel engine and a modern turbocharged direct injection engine. The assessment was made based on a simulation research using the AVL Boost software and the input data for the calculations were ascertained based on measurements performed on actual objects. The results have shown that a reduction of the blowby by half compared to the values occurring in engines of good technical condition would increase the maximum torque and power by approx. 0.5% for both investigated engines. The results of the simulation have also shown that increases in the blowby occurring in engines after long service lead to increased fuel consumption from 1% to 7% and the lower the engine speed and load the greater theses values.

PT Setiajaya Mobilindo Cibubur is an authorized Toyota dealer, in the service division there is Express Maintenance. Express Maintenance (EM) is a special work system for vehicle periodic service maintenance without complaints with a periodic service process for 40 minutes. But in reality there is a problem with the service process time of more than 40 minutes, this is caused by repeated service processes, there are still customer complaints at SPK EM and additional work or part estimates that cause the service lead time to be more than the standard, which is one hour. This study aims to reduce the time of the EM service process to be faster by making suggestions for improvements to the SOP of the EM periodic service process and a ProModel simulation is made to determine the difference between the simulation before and after the repair. On this basis, researchers used kaizen and ProModel. After measuring the standard time before periodic service repairs for 45.6 minutes, repairs are carried out such as kaizen plans by identifying problems using the fishbone, the periodic service process time is not 40 minutes and the corrective steps are given using 5W+1H. Do kaizen implementation based on the plan in the form of periodic service improvement proposals in EM, check sheets and checklists. Check kaizen by measuring the standard time after repair, which is 30.5 minutes. Actions in the form of preventive measures and control tools so that problems do not arise. The result shows that the standard time becomes 30.5 minutes after repair, there is a difference of 10 minutes or 33% from the condition before repair. In addition, the total entries in the ProModel simulation have increased from 209 to 331 units or the EM production capacity has increased by five units/day.
