Comparative scanning electron microscopy studies of fish scales of different orders, families, genera and species within genera have demonstrated differences which warrant elaboration. These differences in detail appear to be sufficient to act as “fingerprints”, at least, for family differences. To date, the lateral line scales have been primarily studied. These demonstrate differences in the lateral line canals; the pattern of ridging with or without secondary protuberances along the edges; the pattern of spines or their absence on the anterior border of the scales; the presence or absence of single or multiple holes on the ventral and dorsal sides of the lateral line canal covers. The distances between the ridges in the pattern appear likewise to be important.A statement of fish scale structure and a comparison of family and species differences will be presented. The authors wish to thank Dr. Donald Marzalek and Mr. Wallace Charm of the Marine and Atmospheric Laboratory of the University of Miami and Dr. Sheldon Moll and Dr. Richard Turnage of AMR for their exhaustive help in these preliminary studies.

In this paper, an integrated simulation optimization model for the assignment problems is developed. An effective algorithm is developed to evaluate and analyze the back-end stored simulation results. This paper proposes simulation tool SIMASI (Simulation of assignment models) to simulate assignment models. SIMASI is a tool which simulates and computes the results of different assignment models. This tool is programmed in DOT.NET and is based on analytical approach to guide optimization strategy. Objective of this paper is to provide a user friendly simulation tool which gives optimized assignment model results. Simulation is carried out by providing the required values of matrix for resource and destination requirements and result is stored in the database for further comparison and study. Result is obtained in terms of the performance measurements of classical models of assignment system. This simulation tool is interfaced with an optimization procedure based on classical models of assignment system. The simulation results are obtained and analyzed rigorously with the help of numerical examples.

Computer vision and image processing are extremely necessary for medical pictures analysis. During this paper, a method of Bio-inspired Artificial Intelligent (AI) optimization supported by an artificial neural network (ANN) has been widely used to detect pictures of skin carcinoma. A Moth Flame Optimization (MFO) is utilized to educate the artificial neural network (ANN). A different feature is an extract to train the classifier. The comparison has been formed with the projected sample and two Artificial Intelligent optimizations, primarily based on classifier especially with, ANN-ACO (ANN training with Ant Colony Optimization (ACO)) and ANN-PSO (training ANN with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)). The results were assessed using a variety of overall performance measurements to measure indicators such as Average Rate of Detection (ARD), Average Mean Square error (AMSTR) obtained from training, Average Mean Square error (AMSTE) obtained for testing the trained network, the Average Effective Processing Time (AEPT) in seconds, and the Average Effective Iteration Number (AEIN). Experimental results clearly show the superiority of the proposed (ANN-MFO) model with different features.

Cryptography is a technique for sending secret messages. This research builds an Android-based email client application which implement cryptography with Schmidt-Samoa algorithm, which is classified as a public key cryptography. The algorithm performs encryption and decryption based on exponential and modulus operation on text messages. The application use 512 and 1024 bit keys. Performance measurements is done using text messages with character number variation of 5 – 10.000 characters to obtain the time used for encryption and decryption process. As a result of this research, 99,074% data show that decryption process is faster than encryption process. In 512 bit keys, the system can perform encryption process in 520 - 18.256 miliseconds, and decryption process in 487 - 5.688 miliseconds. In 1024 bit keys, system can perform encryption process in 5626 – 52,142 miliseconds (7.388 times slower than 512 bit keys) and decryption process with time 5463 – 15,808 miliseconds or 8.290 times slower than 512 bit keys.

Density currents in the deeper zones of clarifiers and currents in the clear water zone have a significant influence on clarifier performance. Measurements of flow velocity profiles were conducted in full-scale horizontally flown circular secondary clarifiers. Relations between the hydraulic load and the development of density currents could be detected. Those patterns are not taken into account in current design procedures. Stationary design approaches are mainly based on the overflow rate. Novel design methods based on the dynamic behavior of flow and density distribution in clarifiers are needed in order to improve the efficacy of wastewater treatment systems.
