Abstrak: Mangga (Mangifera indica L.) menjadi salah satu buah yang disukai dan memiliki banyak kultivar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakter morfologi dan sensoris kultivar mangga di kecamatan Langsa Lama, Aceh, Indonesia. Penelitian dilaksanakan di 5 desa, yaitu di desa Meurandeh, Sidodadi, Sidorejo, Meurandeh Teungoh, dan Asam Peutek, Kecamatan Langsa Lama, Kota Langsa, Aceh pada bulan Januari - Maret 2020. Pengumpulan data lapangan dilakukan dengan mengamati kultivar mangga yang dibudidayakan penduduk di kebun dan pekarangan rumah. Seratus orang panelis dari 5 desa (20 orang setiap desa) dipilih secara acak untuk menilai kualitas warna, rasa, dan aroma dari buah mangga yang ditemukan. Sebanyak 5 kultivar mangga ditemukan pada lokasi penelitian, yaitu mangga arumanis, mangga apel, mangga golek dan mangga madu. Mangga tersebut memiliki karakter morfologi yang berbeda. Mangga Arumanis menjadi jenis kultivar mangga yang paling disukai berdasarkan atribut rasa, aroma, tekstur dan warna.Kata Kunci: Kultivar; sensoris; rasa; Langsa Lama;Abstract: Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is one of the most preferred fruit and has many cultivars. This study aims to identify the morphological and sensory character of mango cultivars in the Langsa Lama district, Aceh, Indonesia. The study was conducted between January and March 2020 in five villages, namely Meurandeh, Sidodadi, Sidorejo, Meurandeh Teungoh, and Asam Peutek, Langsa Lama District, Kota Langsa, Aceh. A field study was conducted by observing mango cultivars cultivated in the home garden and farmland. One hundred panelists from five villages (20 people from each village) were randomly selected to assess the taste, colour, and aroma of the mangoes. A total of five mango cultivars were identified at the study site, namely Arumanis, Apple, Golek, and Madu. These mangoes have different morphological characteristics. Arumanis is the most preferred product based on the taste, aroma, texture, and colour.Keywords: cultivar; sensory; taste; Langsa Lama;

Objective: The present study was carried out to determine the antifungal activity of Mangifera indica leaves extract on fungi isolated from bread vended within Bakori. Methods: The powdered form of M. indica leaves was used to prepare the extract using ethanol, the leaves were air dried at room temperature for 10 days. Results: The chemical test was carried out to identify the secondary metabolites, some of the metabolites that were present include alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids, steroids, and tannins. Both fungal isolates were identified on the basis of morphological characteristics as Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, and Mucor spp. The antifungal activity of M. indica leaves extract was determined using agar well diffusion method on Aspergillus and Mucor spp. The results showed that the extract was found to inhibit A. niger at 100 mg/ml, 50 mg/ml, and 25 mg/ml with 13.9 mm, 11.5 mm, and 8.0 mm, respectively, and A. flavus at 100 mg/ml, 50 mg/ml, and 25 mg/ml with 13.6 mm, 11.2 mm, and 8.1 mm, respectively, while Mucor spp. was found to be resistant at 25 mg/ml while 100 mg/ml and 50 mg/ml showed an activity. Minimum inhibitory concentration result showed a promising activity against Aspergillus spp. at 25 mg/ml while Mucor spp. at 50 mg/ml. Conclusion: Therefore, M. indica leaf extracts can be used in the treatment of diseases or illness caused by Aspergillus and Mucor spp.

In north Tunisia, the Quercus suber L. forests have shown a great decline indices as well as a non-natural regeneration. The climate changes could accentuate this unappreciated situation. In this study, the effect of water deficit on physiological behavior of Quercus suber seedlings was investigated. Photosynthetic responses of 15 months old Cork oak seedlings grown for 30 days under 40% and 80% soil water water content (control) were evaluated. Results showed a negative effect of water deficit and a positive effect of the intercellular CO2 concentration increase both on photosynthesis and transpiration. Stomata conductance might play a major role in balancing gas exchanges between the leaf and its environment. Moreover, global warming could negatively affect carbon uptake of Cork oak species in northern Tunisia. Elevated CO2 leaf content will benefit Cork oak growing under water deficit by decreasing both photoysnthesis and transpiration, which will decrease either the rate or the severity of water deficits, with limited effects on metabolism. the results suggest that high intercellular CO2 concentration could increase water use efficiency among Cork oak species.

With the evolution of cultivation techniques, the world production of fruits and vegetables has been presenting a continuous growth. Despite the increase in production, a significant portion of the harvested products is mainly lost in the post-harvest due to several factors, such as inapropriate handling, transportation and conservation, lack of selection and classification, poorly sized packaging, among others. In general, the quality of fruits and vegetables is usually evaluated by the following parameters: size, shape, mass, color, firmness, ripeness, absence of bruises and pathologies.The objective of this work was to develop an application in Matlab to detect morphological characteristics (width, length, area, perimeter) of Mangifera indica L., ‘Tommy Atkins’ mangos from images, and using the same images, estimate its weigth. The images of the mangoes were acquired with a digital camera attached to an illuminated box and later processed in an application developed in Matlab. The images showed the morphological characteristics of the samples were obtained and an equation was determined to estimate their mass. The determination of the mass from the images had a 96% correlation with the actual mass measured with a scale and it was possible to obtain a reliable estimate of the masses of the mangoes from their images.
