The aim of this research is to identify and analyse the ubiquitous learning acquired though blending education settings devoted to the 'lifelong training of trainers' and how these contribute to the development of a conscious, critic and engaged citizenship. Through active exploration of the learning process, the study analyses the 'soft skills” acquired which enhance performance in work and daily life, with the purpose of detecting the process of ubiquitous learning often overlooked in formal education. To this end, the study case presented here draws upon a data triangulation of qualitative and quantitative multisource information (questionnaires, interviews, participant observation, discussion groups, individual and collective diaries) which includes the study of the semantic networks consisting of learners’ own utterances. The results obtained indicate that the soft skills related to the capacity of selfdevelopment, the use of innovative resources, the enhancement of social cooperation, the ability to meet cognitive and social challenges, and the functional learning as produced though expanded learning, have the potential to pave the way for the empowerment of peoples, communities and social movements. But this form of expanded learning, as open, collaborative, democratic and committed learning, must be actively supported if future generations are not only to be consumers but also cooperative producers in a socially shared world. El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido detectar y analizar los aprendizajes ubicuos adquiridos en entornos educativos expandidos destinados a la «formación permanente de formadores» y cómo estos influyen en la construcción de una ciudadanía consciente, crítica y comprometida. Se han analizado las «soft skills» adquiridas para el desenvolvimiento efectivo en el trabajo o la vida diaria, mediante la exploración activa del proceso formativo. Se ha tratado así de detectar el aprendizaje ubicuo que suele resultar invisible para la educación formal. Con este propósito, el estudio de caso aquí presentado recurre a una triangulación de análisis cualitativo y cuantitativo de información multifuente (cuestionarios, entrevistas, observación participante, grupos de discusión, diarios individuales y colectivos), que incluye análisis de red semántica de las expresiones de los participantes. Los resultados obtenidos nos indican que las «soft skills» relacionadas con la capacidad de desarrollo autónomo, el uso de medios y recursos transformadores, la potenciación de la cooperación social, la resolución de desafíos cognitivos y sociales, la potenciación del compromiso cívico y del aprendizaje funcional, que genera el aprendizaje expandido, se pueden convertir en un instrumento para el empoderamiento de personas, colectivos y movimientos sociales. Pero este aprendizaje expandido, como aprendizaje abierto y colaborativo, democrático y comprometido, requiere un apoyo consciente si se desea que las futuras generaciones no solo sean consumidoras, sino productoras colaborativas en un mundo socialmente compartido

This research was conducted based on the problems that often arise in formal education learning. This problem has an impact on learning achievement results obtained by students. This research was conducted at MAN 1 Bandar Lampung. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of the instructional model nuanced guidance data collection techniques using expert rating scale and user rating scale. The results of this study indicate that the nuanced learning model meets the achievement of student learning outcomes in MAN 1 Bandar Lampung, by developing students' knowledge and skills in the form of soft skills and hard skills. Guidance nuanced learning model design consists of learning process planning standards, learning process implementation standards, learning process outcome standards, and learning process control standards.

This research is motivated by quality human resource planning that can be created through Madrasah educational institutions as formal education providers.  Madrasah gains the public's trust in preparing and delivering the nation's generation of children to be able to compete in global competitions whose impact is increasingly being felt in social life.  Educational human resource planning is the most important element in every educational institution, the success of the institution in achieving its goals and various targets as well as its ability to face various challenges, both internal and external, is largely determined by the ability to manage human resources as precisely as possible.  This proves that Madrasahs need human resource management in the field of education, with their managerial and operational functions, and supported by competent educators and education staff, so Madrasahh will have the power to grow, be productive, and competitive. The approach in this research is qualitative. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. Checking the validity of the data by using triangulation methods, data sources, and theories. The findings of this study indicate that education human resource planning in developing superior Madrasah has carried out internal and external analysis with a needs analysis model, recruitment system, and selection system based on Khidmah.

The chapter showcases the 21st century skills that are required by librarians. The digital era brought about a lot of changes in the way that librarians interact with their clients. Due to the changing needs of clients, librarians should ensure that they are well equipped to deliver the needed services. The objectives of the chapter are to identify the skills that librarians should possess in the 21st century, examine how librarians acquire those skills, and discuss the challenges that are faced when acquiring those skills. Structured literature review and web content analysis were used to get the LIS skills. It was discovered that librarians should possess professional, technical, and soft skills in order to remain relevant in the 21st century. The findings revealed that librarians can acquire skills through on the job trainings or formal education. The major challenge that is faced by librarians is the issue of lack of funds to support their capacity building endeavours.

Graduates of vocational schools and polytechnics are expected to become skilled workers who are ready to work in various fields of work. Especially for graduates from language study programs, having the language skills and competence certificate is not enough to face the competition in the world of work. They also need to always perform soft skills and work ethics, to be able to get ready for working, to be able to understand colleagues better, and thus to adapt fast in any environment. Thus, there have been issues toward to what extent formal education specifically embeds soft skills and work ethics, what aspects of soft skills and work ethics that employees must possess, and what efforts have been given to develop them. This study aims at describing the efforts done by Language Study Programs, Sekolah Vokasi, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM)to adopt soft skills and work ethics and describing the performance of Language Study Programs, Sekolah Vokasi, UGM graduates in the aspects of soft skills (intrapersonal skill, interpersonal skill, and communication) and work ethics (commitment, integrity, professionalism, and hard work). The data were obtained by conducting observation and interview to the head of Language Study Programs and also administering a self-evaluation questionnaire, containing 47 items of soft skills and 44 work ethics items with five performance indicators (1: never – 5: always), that was distributed to 160 graduates from English, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese Language Study Programs of Sekolah Vokasi UGM. The finding of study suggests that efforts done are soft skills training session (in student orientation), etiquette lesson, support in organization participation, and internship program. The mean score of each indicator in the questionnaire is between 3.62 – 4.65 (out of 5). This score shows that the Language Study Programs graduates often and usually perform soft skills and work ethics that benefit them in the labor market.

Introduction. Modern professional activity of a specialist in tourism and hospitality requires the possession of not only highly specialized, so-called hard skills, but also skills, which in contrast to the former are considered “soft”. The growing tourism services sector, international competition, new forms of work organization require from a specialist to possess, first of all, the skills of self-organization, communication, teamwork, etc. Materials and methods. The study involved 86 people (46 people were in the control group; 40 people were in the experimental group) who were students of “Hospitality Management” at Tula State University. Methods of questionnaires, participant observation and “mystery shopping” were used to determine the level of formation of soft skills in the participants of the control group. The survey among employers (n=10) was conducted. To analyze the effectiveness of the forming experiment the χ2-Pearson’s criterion was used. Results. The formative stage of experimental work was associated with the introduction of organizational and pedagogical conditions in the practice of training bachelors in the direction of “Hotel Management”. It was found that the identified organizational and pedagogical conditions affect the formation of professionally significant qualities of a specialist, underlying its productive competitiveness in the field of professional activity. It was revealed that the students of the experimental group more actively form the skills of mental self-regulation and overcoming stressful situations (χ2 = 6.64; p<0.05). Discussion. The practical significance of the results is determined by the possibility of their use in training not only specialists in the field of tourism, but also other representatives of professions that are part of the “human-human” system.

The paper presents conclusions from research into the opportunities to employ games in university education and it constitutes a description of a number of projects carried out at the Institute of Pedagogy at the University of Wrocław. The project encompassed: (1) the use of location-based games in cultural education classes (Kulturalny Wrocław project), (2) a five-day game seminar on career management (the Gamification in career management in the educational practice of Lower Silesia project), (3) a location-based game diagnosing entrepreneurship competences (the Entrepreneurship in the educational practice of Lower Silesia project), and (4) the use of LARP games in developing soft skills (the Learning through games project). During the conducted research triangulation of methods was employed: participant observation as well as focus and individual interviews. The conclusion of the explorations is that the Introduction of games into university education is an effective and attractive educational means, which, at the same time, requires substantial amount of time and number of staff in the preparation of the classes.

This research focuses on soft skills practices; teaching and learning experiences in Hue Industrial College (HUEIC) from 2016 until 2020. The paper reports the results of a case study conducted in Vietnam as a part of EMVITET Erasmus+ capacity building project. Study data consist of feedback of college students (n=15), vocational and higher education teachers (n=20), and furthermore Vietnamese college students (n=130) who took part in an online survey. The results indicate that both students and teachers are willing to implement learning soft skills in practical activities in formal education context as well as outside of the classroom. The study recognizes the main required soft skill to be communication skills, however in the Vietnamese context IT application skills have a positive effect on students' online learning.

This article synthesizes the results of a qualitative study, whose objective was to analyze the strategies that a first-grade teacher uses to promote the process of motivation of girls and boys in their class, towards learning to read and write. The metaphor technique is used as a methodological alternative in order to reflect on the pedagogical practice, also integrating the techniques of participant observation, interview and the theoretical foundations. A qualitative design was used, which was adapted to the object of study during the process. The article summarizes the analysis and discussion of the results, with the organization of the information, which is oriented to the elaboration of categories that give unity to the data collected during the research process, evidencing that the findings are conducive to the achievement of the objective presented. In conclusion, it is shown that the pedagogical practice of the teacher participating in this study is located in the positivist paradigm and the behavioral approach to learning. This view is contrary to the integral language proposal. It is considered important to carry out transformations in the Costa Rican formal education system. For this, it is necessary to reflect on pedagogical practices, which involve the belief systems, worldviews, and theoretical conceptions of teachers. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the author of the article is the researcher.

Integrated Islam schools emerged as a response to dissatisfaction Islamic movement activists against the national education system in Indonesia. National education system considered in the management of education perpetuates the dualism between religion and public education. Therefore, it takes a model of alternative educational institution capable of removing any educational practice dichotomous. During its development, paradox regarding the development of integrated Islamic school when they actually have to be part of the national education system. This study aims to answer the question of how the position of integrated Islamic schools in the National Education map? This study is a qualitative case study model. Data collection methods were participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data was analyzed using inductive-qualitative analysis. The results showed that the integrated Islamic school is an integral part of the national education system. The indications are; the adoption of the curriculum of the ministry of education and culture, use of the name of the "sekolah ", adjustment of the examination system, and certification programs by teachers of integrated Islamic school. Their willingness ro be part of the national education system is one of the Islamic movement activists attempt to do lslamization of formal education institutions in Indonesia. There has been an issue toward to what extent a formal education specifically embeds soft skills and work ethics, the aspects that employees must possess, and what efforts have been given to help develop them. This paper aims at developing a measurement instrument to assess, to help improve the employees’ level of soft skills and work ethics in industries and at the same time to give an insight about what universities should prepare to help their students acquire a sufficient acquisition of soft skills and work ethics. This research is a Research and Development (R&D), aimed at developing a measurement instrument on skills and work ethics. Partial Least Square (PLS) was employed to confirm the validity and reliability of the instrument. Some observations in industries were done, and semi-structured qualitative interviews and Focused Group Discussion (FGD) were conducted with stakeholders, HR managers, and psychologists. The results show that 47 out of 56 items are valid to measure intrapersonal, interpersonal skills, and communication skills. While for the work ethics, 44 statements were valid to measure commitment, integrity, professional attitude, and hard work. For the reliability, a composite value of reliability >0.70 is used, and the results show that the instrument is reliable.
