In this paper we present a novel method for processing of the signals from sensor systems based on coupled micromechanical resonators. Microfabricated resonators typically have electrostatic or piezoelectric interfaces. Properly designed microresonators can be mechanically coupled to each other in order to realize a bandpass filter transfer function. We will demonstrate that it is possible to use coupled microresonators for sensing applications and propose a novel mechanical signal processing method to detect quantities of interest.
