Myanmar is situated in Southeast Asia, where species richness and diversity are very high. Myanmar orchid flora is very rich, but still poorly known because botanical explorations have sharply decreased in Myanmar since 1950. The present study provides a checklist of Myanmar orchid flora which includes 1040 species and 151 genera currently known from Myanmar, based on the herbarium specimens, literature and online databases. The number of species is increased by approximately 200 species more than that given in the checklist of Kress et al. (2003), mainly due to recent discoveries of new species to science and new records for Myanmar. There are 76 endemic species of Orchidaceae in Myanmar. It is estimated that ca. 150–300 species still remain as unidentified and are expected to be discovered in further studies on Myanmar orchid flora.

The flora of the southern Langeberg is rich, w ith 1 228 species and intraspecific taxa (referred to collectively as species) recorded in 361 genera and 105 families. An analysis of the montane flora of the southern Langeberg. Western Cape, South Africa based on an annotated checklist shows that the Asteraceae has the highest number of species per familv (167) and the genus  Erica has the most infrageneric taxa per genus (130) as well as the most endemic species (51). One endemic monotypic family, the Geissolomataceae, two endemic genera Geissoloma and Langebergia (Asteraceae) and a total of 167 endemic species are found on the southern Langeberg The plant families of the southern Langeberg flora are ranked according to species-richness of the families and compared with floras of other areas (mainly montane) in the Fynbos Biome and marginally to the east of this biome (the Amatole Mountains). The greatest similarity of ranking is evident betw een the plant families of the southern Langeberg and those of the Cape Hangklip Area.

An updated checklist and key to the Peruvian species of Brunellia (Brunelliaceae) is presented based on georeferenced herbarium specimens from Peruvian herbaria, own field collections and online sources. Thirteen Brunellia species are documented as native to Peru, including nine endemic species. Compared to previous studies the average number of Brunellia spp. per Andean department doubles from two to more than four species. Our data indicate a center of species richness and endemism in northern Peru, namely the Amotape-Huancabamba Zone (AHZ). Furthermore, distribution maps for all species are presented. Brunellia ovalifolia is reported as a new record for Peru. Another species, B. lobinii Böhnert & Weigend sp. nov., from Departamento de Lambayeque, Provincia de Ferreñafe, near the town of Kañaris, is here described as new to science. Additionally, some taxonomic uncertainties are discussed.

The paper presents the updates on the new species; new regional and new location records since the treatment for “Conspectus of the vascular plants of Mongolia” (Urgamal et al. 2014) listed as new for the Mongolian floristic novelties and reported as well. This article includes the data on new species records for 33 species (2 subspecies and 1 varietes) included 20 genera and 14 families to the vascular flora of Mongolia. One genus (Matthiola) has been added as new to the flora of Mongolia. An annotated checklist of vascular plant species and phytogeography for Mongolia is given. The most made additions of the number of species of following families and genera: Ranunculaceae (12 species), Rosaceae (6 species), Brassicaceae (3 species) families and Potentilla (6 species), Ranunculus (4 species), and Aquilegia (3 species). The most made additions to the following phyto-geographical regions of Mongolia are: Mongolian Altai (11 species), Khentei (10 species) and Khangai (4 species) regions. The includes to new records for 10 species are as “sub-endemic“and one species as “very rare” to the vascular flora of Mongolia.

Between 2015 and 2017, 58 ostracod taxa were collected at 30 locations in 111 samples from the hyporheic zone of surface streams in Texas, U.S.A. Six new species (Bradleycypris foresteri n. sp., Bradleystrandesia macula n. sp., Pseudocandona lordi n. sp., Indocandona rusti n. sp., Stenocypris sancari n. sp., Cyclocypris dalyana n. sp.) are described based on carapace and soft body parts. Additionally, 17 species and two genera (Vestalenula and Indocandona) are presented as new records for Texas, and Indocandona rusti n. sp. is the first record of the genus outside India. Taxonomic positions of the new species are discussed along with ecological information. One-hundred and six nonmarine ostracod species are now reported from Texas. However, ongoing studies suggest that actual species richness is much higher.

Baliothrips sunae sp.n. is described from eastern China, and eight thripid species are newly recorded from China. One species is shared with Europe, three with Australia and four with southeast Asia. Chilothrips Hood is synonymized with Oxythrips Uzel, and Graminothrips Zhang & Tong is synonymized with Organothrips Hood.

Preliminary surveys of brackish and freshwater habitats in the southeast and east of South Korea produced a total of fifteenspecies. Ten of these species are new records for Korea, and one additional species, belonging to the genus Tanycypris, isnewly described herein. Twenty-seven species of nonmarine ostracods are now reported from Korea, but this is probablyonly a small proportion of the actual number of species inhabiting the peninsula. The presence of Dolerocypris ikeyaiSmith & Kamiya, 2006, Cryptocandona brehmi (Klie, 1934), Cryptocandona tsukagoshii Smith, 2011, Physocypria nip-ponica Okubo, 1990 and Vestalenula cylindrica (Straub, 1952) on the Korean Peninsula demonstrates that these species are also distributed on the continent, and are not endemic to Japan.

Two new species of Selenops, S. anacaona sp. nov. (♀) and S. caonabo sp. nov. (♀), are described from the Dominican Republic on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola. These two new species increase the number of endemic Selenops on Hispaniola to 13, surpassing Cuba, which currently has 11 endemic species. Additionally, the male of S. pensilis Muma, 1953 from Hispaniola is described, as well as the male of S. petrunkevitchi Alayón, 2003 from Jamaica. Full distribution records are given for the new species and the newly described males, and new records are provided for the following species: S. aequalis Franganillo, 1935, S. bocacandensis Crews, 2011, S. candidus Muma, 1953, S. micropalpus Muma, 1953, S. morro Crews, 2011, S. simius Muma, 1953, S. souliga Crews, 2011, and S. submaculosus Bryant, 1940.

Steriphodon Abeille de Perrin, 1895, a small genus of Eurygeniinae (Anthicidae) is reviewed. Critical morphology of the genus is reassessed and discussed. An annotated checklist, key to species and new records are provided. Steriphodon ottomerkli sp. nov. from the Balochistan Province, Pakistan is described and illustrated.

One hundred forty-six species of Gelechiidae including 36 new records are reported from Israel. Anarsia balioneura Meyrick, 1921 and Polyhymno chionarcha Meyrick, 1913 are recorded for the first time in the Palaearctic region. Two new species are described: Metzneria freidbergi sp. nov., and Scrobipalpa aravensis sp. nov. Six new synonyms are established: Stygmatoptera Hartig, 1936 syn. nov. of Polyhymno Chambers, 1874; Eulamprotes Bradley, 1971 syn. nov. of Oxypteryx Rebel, 1911; Polyhymno abaiella Amsel, 1974 syn. nov. of Polyhymno chionarcha, Meyrick, 1913; Gelechia haifella Amsel, 1935 syn. nov. of Athrips rancidella (Herrich-Schäffer, 1854); Sophronia catharurga Meyrick, 1923 and Sophronia parahumerella Amsel, 1935 syn. nov. of Pseudosophronia exustellus (Zeller, 1847). The following new combinations are proposed: Anacampsis karmeliella (Amsel, 1935) comb. nov., Stomopteryx tesserapunctella (Amsel, 1935) comb. nov., Aproaerema languidella (Amsel, 1936) comb. nov., Aproaerema telaviviella (Amsel, 1935) comb. nov., Acompsia (Telephila) ballotellus (Amsel, 1935) comb. nov., Polyhymno dumonti (Hartig, 1936) comb. nov., Oxypteryx atrella (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775) comb. nov., Oxypteryx immaculatella (Douglas, 1850) comb. nov. and Chrysoesthia amseli (Bidzilya, 2008) comb. nov. A lectotype is designated for Lita rhamnifoliae Amsel & Hering, 1931.The genitalia of both sexes of Sophronia sagittans Meyrick, 1923, Anacampsis karmeliella (Amsel, 1935), Stomopteryx tesserapunctella Amsel, 1935 as well as male genitalia of Stomopteryx lacteolella Caradja, 1924, Aproaerema telaviviella (Amsel, 1935), Acompsia ballotellus (Amsel, 1935), Polyhymno dumonti (Hartig, 1936) and Chrysoesthia amseli (Bidzilya, 2008) are illustrated and described for the first time. New or additional host plants are recorded for Metzneria aspretella Lederer, 1869, M. agraphella (Ragonot, 1895), M. ehikeella Gozmány, 1954 and Scrobipalpa suaedivorella (Chrétien, 1915). Photographs of the type specimens of most taxa described from Israel and Palestine are presented. The following species are removed from the list of Gelechiidae of Israel: Nothris sulcella Staudinger, 1879, N. skyvai Karsholt & Šumpich, 2015, Anarsia spartiella Schrank, 1802, Megacraspedus cerussatellus Rebel, 1930, Oxypteryx atrella (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775), Isophrictis anthemidella (Wocke, 1871), Metzneria metzneriella (Stainton, 1851), Scrobipalpa otregata Povolný, 1972, Scrobipalpa nitentella (Fuchs, 1902), Scrobipalpa remota Povolný, 1972, Scrobipalpa salinella (Zeller, 1847) and Ephysteris diminutella (Zeller, 1847). Moreover, Stomopteryx remissella (Zeller, 1847) is recorded as new to the Altai Mountains of Russia, Anarsia balioneura Meyrick, 1921 is new to Cyprus and Libya, Polyhymno dumonti (Hartig, 1936) is new to Libya and Sudan, Scrobipalpa superstes is new to Greece, Stenolechia gemmella (Linnaeus, 1758) is new to Jordan and Polyhymno chionarcha is new to Saudi Arabia.
