A New Species

The genus Charaea Baly is distributed in the eastern Palaearctic, Himalayas, China and adjacent countries of the Oriental Region. Currently, 59 species of the genus Charaea have been recorded. The species of Charaea is characterised with a robust tubular aedeagus that terminates with a more or less distinct apical process with the Charaea coomani group having an internal sac with long sharp lateral sclerites. Up to now, 13 species of this group have been described in the Oriental Region, four of which are found in Vietnam. Charaea dinhcuongisp. nov. is described as a new species, based on specimens collected from Phu Quoc Island in southern Vietnam. Colour photographs of habitus and body details and DNA barcode sequences are presented. An identification key is provided for all Vietnamese species from the Charaea coomani group.

A New Species

A new species of Galumna (Galumna) (Oribatida, Galumnidae) are described from a sample of grass rhizosphere, from a meadow of the Tam Dao National Park, Northern Vietnam. Galumna (Galumna) dkrivolutskyi sp. nov. differs from G. pseudotriquetra Ermilov, 2015(b) by the larger body size, bothridial heads slightly developed unilaterally and by the absence of sejugal suture medially. A supplementary description of G. discifera Balogh, 1960 is present based on Vietnamese specimens. Morphological additions to description of the Vietnamese species, G. acutirostrum Ermilov & Anichkin, 2010, are given. An identification key to known species of Galumna (Galumna) from the Oriental region is provided.

A New Species

The myrmicine genus Rotastruma is a rarely collected arboreal ant group and only two species, R. recava Bolton and R. stenoceps Bolton, are known from the Oriental Region. A new species, R. epispinasp. nov., is described from Cambodia based on the worker and queen castes. The new species is distinguished from R. recava and R. stenoceps by having the propodeal spine directed upwards and elongated peduncle of the petiole. Herein, we provide an update to the identification key and diagnostic characters for the genus Rotastruma.

A New Species

A new species of the chirostylid squat lobster genus Uroptychodes Baba, 2004, U. fuscilineatus, is described and illustrated on the basis of a single ovigerous female from the Uraga Channel, central Japan, at depth of 250 m. The new species appears most similar to U. spinimarginatus (Henderson, 1885) and U. yapensis Dong, Gan & Li, 2021 among the 13 known congeners, but is notable in the pereopod 2 not being definitely more slender than the pereopods 3 and 4 and the remarkably spinose pereopods 1–4. A possible association of the new species with crinoid is suggested. An updated identification key to species of Uroptychodes is presented.

Stenogiffardia bifurca sp. nov. is described from a series of specimens collected in the former Antananarivo, Fianarantsoa, and Toliara Provinces of Madagascar. This is the first record of the genus,Evans, 1977 (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Deltocephalinae) from Madagascar, which is now the third genus of the tribe Chiasmini known from the island. The distribution of,is analyzed and an identification key to species is given.,Evans, 1977 is removed from synonymy with,(Kirkaldy, 1906).

A New Species

The description of a new species of oribatid mites (Oribatida) of the family Zetorchestidae—Zetorchestes krisperi sp. nov.—is proposed based on adult and tritonymph specimens collected from rainforest soil of Bi Dup-Nui Ba National Park (southern Vietnam). We also review the distinguishing characteristics for Zetorchestes species and present an identification key to Zetorchestes species of the world. Diagnostic features of Zetorchestes nymphs are discussed.

The new sharpshooter species Sonesimia nessimiani is described from Bolivia based on specimens collected on sugar cane. An identification key to males and females of all known species of the genus is given. In addition to the external morphology, color pattern, and male genitalia, female genital structures are also described and illustrated. Notes comparing the new species with the remaining six Sonesimia species are provided.

A New Species

The present study is based on oribatid mite materials (Acari, Oribatida) collected from Taiwan in 2017. A list of identified taxa, including 109 species/subspecies, 84 genera and 48 families, is presented; of these, 50 species/subspecies, 28 genera and 7 families are recorded for the first time in the fauna of this country, and 8 species and 1 genus are recorded for the first time in the Oriental region. A new species belonging to the genus Lohmannia (Lohmanniidae) is described from soil of the Yangmingshan National Park; L. douhua Ermilov sp. nov. differs from L. pseudoturcmenica Ermilov, 2017 by the broadly phylliform posterior exobothridial setae, narrowly phylliform rostral, epimeral and genital setae and clearly longer notogastral setae. An identification key to the known species of Lohmannia from the Oriental region is presented.

A New Species

A new species of the genusTurleaniaMcLaughlin, 1997,T. sinensissp. nov., is described and illustrated. This new species is morphologically similar toT. senticosa, but differs from that species in having nine pairs of quadriserial gills, and in having the ventromesial margin of the ischium of both chelipeds armed with large, prominent spines. This is the tenth species in this genus, and the first record of the genus from the China Sea. An identification key to species ofTurleaniais provided.

A New Species

A new species of Toxoneura Macquart from Vietnam (Lai Châu province, Mt. Emei), T. gavryushini sp. n., is described and illustrated. This is the second species from the Oriental Region and the first species found in its continental part. The new species differs from other Oriental species, Toxoneura striata, in narrow gena and wing pattern. An identification key to the Oriental species is provided.
