Many international trade theories have been created until nowadays. However, not so much of real life cases were analysed in order to check their validity. The goal of this paper is to analyse Lithuanian metalworking sector in order to define whether any of international trade theories explain its international trade’s pattern. In order to reach the goal scientific literature analysis was made to gain knowledge about different international trade theories. The analysis of other author’s works in this field was made as well as statistical data of Lithuania’s metalworking sector analyzed. The findings show that the metalworking sector follows some of the modern as well as classical international trade theories.

Changes in today’s global political, economic, demographic and cultural situation make the relations in society to get sophisticated. Legal and social responsibility becomes critical important in these processes. Because of their professional duties, police officers must be professionals with a very high level of responsibility. However, there is a lack of scientific researches with a particular reference to future police officers responsibility evaluation. This leads to the aim of this research: to evaluate legal and social responsibility of future police officers. The research was based on systematic and comparative scientific literature analysis and statistical data analysis. The study was conducted in 2011 and 2015 in one of Lithuanian universities. 102 recipients of the study program “Law and Police Activities” participated in the survey in 2011 and 109 – in 2015. It was found that students – future police officers feel legal as well as social responsibility. Although the greatest impact on the formation of respondents' responsibility had a family, the relevance of the university‘s contribution has grown from 2011 to 2015. It is also to notice that 66 % of respondents marked that they are legal responsible in 2011 and this proportion increased to 82 % in 2015. The obtained results will contribute in further investigations making analysis of future professionals’ responsibility and its factors.

The concept of competitiveness is a multidimensional and is closely related to the country‘s ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment. The growth of competitiveness depends on the main aspects of wage and employment, which is influenced by micro and macro factors. The objective of this article is to assess the link between the wage, employment and competitiveness. The following tasks have been implemented: to analyse the scientific literature about competitiveness and its fac-tors; to reveal the changes of wages and employment; to assess the impact of main factors on com-petitiveness. In the article, the following methods of analysis are used: an analysis and summarize of the scientific literature, analysis of the statistical data, correlation-regression analysis.

This article reveals the analysis of domestic and foreign experience in the development of an educational program for a teacher-researcher training. Within the framework of the competencebased approach it makes possible to formulate a number of positions regarding the status of an "educational program" and five principles for developing a modular educational program for undergraduate students, which also includes the formation of future teachers' research competencies. The experimental work was realized on the basis of scientific literature analysis, tests, questionnaires. Statistical data processing was accomplished by SPSS Statistics Program, moreover, the authors applied the Mann-Whitney U-test.

Ecological development is one of the three components of sustainable development. To be able to analyse the impact of economic and social development on the ecological situation of the region, ecological development has to be assessed using quantitative methods. The ecological development of a region can be seen as a complex integrated phenomenon observed in many aspects. After formalizing them, i. e. converting them into criteria, we can form a system that upon applying multi-criteria methods will allow us to carry out a complex assessment of the ecological development of a region. The objective of this article is to provide methods for the quantitative assessment of the ecological state of a country’s regions. Review of scientific literature, analysis of statistical data and the methods applied in the theory multiple criteria have been used for the research.

Online stores, ad portals, shopping apps have become part of everyday life in 2020-2021. The Covid-19 epidemic has rapidly forced numerous entities (public, business, and private) to become predominantly oriented to electronic commerce in the last few months (Pejić-Bach, 2021). Business in the online space faces new challenges that require additional knowledge and skills.  The object of the research is the assessment how covid-19 impact on ecommerce usage in Lithuania. The aim of the work is to examine ecommerce usage in Lithuania during covid-19 pandemic. Methods: scientific literature analysis, statistical data analysis.  Businesses had to offer a wider range of services in order to survive. The issue of cybersecurity has grown. Consumers have also reacted ambiguously to this situation. Not only are economic factors that determine the frequency or quantity of consumer purchases distinguished, but also social and psychological factors, such as loss of motivation or apathy. The vast majority of Lithuanian shoppers were selling local online shops. The amount of money spent on online shopping has also increased. The pandemic has increased the scope of ecommerce and the range of services in Lithuania despite the deteriorating economic and social situation.

Current machine intelligence metrics rely on a different philosophy, hindering their effective comparison. There is no standardization of what is machine intelligence and what should be measured to quantify it. In this study, we investigate the measurement of intelligence from the viewpoint of real-life difficult-problem-solving abilities, and we highlight the importance of being able to make accurate and robust comparisons between multiple cooperative multiagent systems (CMASs) using a novel metric. A recent metric presented in the scientific literature, called MetrIntPair, is capable of comparing the intelligence of only two CMASs at an application. In this paper, we propose a generalization of that metric called MetrIntPairII. MetrIntPairII is based on pairwise problem-solving intelligence comparisons (for the same problem, the problem-solving intelligence of the studied CMASs is evaluated experimentally in pairs). The pairwise intelligence comparison is proposed to decrease the necessary number of experimental intelligence measurements. MetrIntPairII has the same properties as MetrIntPair, with the main advantage that it can be applied to any number of CMASs conserving the accuracy of the comparison, while it exhibits enhanced robustness. An important property of the proposed metric is the universality, as it can be applied as a black-box method to intelligent agent-based systems (IABSs) generally, not depending on the aspect of IABS architecture. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the MetrIntPairII metric, we provide a representative experimental study, comparing the intelligence of several CMASs composed of agents specialized in solving an NP-hard problem.

Abstract This paper presents the perceptions of social science students about the use of official statistical data, in the context of active learning of Statistics, and other topics related to Applied Statistics. In order to make these courses more attractive, and to challenge and stimulate statistical education, our students work on projects in which they use official statistical data to explore practical, real-life issues. Their attitudes and perceptions regarding official statistical data sources are very important, both for acquisition of statistical analysis skills, essential for their future professional life, and for improvement of the official data sources. Therefore, we conducted a custom-made survey among students from Romanian higher education institutions (HEIs) and gathered a database with 334 responses, which allowed us to identify the main characteristics, problems and solutions concerning the use of statistical official data sources by university students.

The relevance of the topic is defined through the idea that appropriate leadership competencies and their application in certain activities enabling the followers can ensure the prospects of organizational development and individual career opportunities. To review and summarize the aspects of research findings of leadership science in expression of competencies in managerial processes, highlighting the leadership competencies in the context of general competencies. Methods. In order to formulate analytical findings describing the concept of leadership, generalizing the stages of development of theories, expression of leadership competencies and impact, there were used the methods of scientific literature analysis and synthesis as well as simulation. Results. According to the scientists insights, the article deals with leadership concept analysis, leadership research overview according to development stages. Scientific novelty. The analyzed theme has a scientific novelty, because recently there has been more and more discussion about the importance of leadership, but it is important to analyze the core leadership competencies that would predetermine both the findings of decisions of organizations’ managerial processes and positive changes of individual career in the integration in the activities of organizations. Practical significance. The need in leadership competencies is related to the issues of good leadership in organizations. Aiming to implement ideas of modern leadership in organisations, the leader has to have certain characteristics of leadership expressions, such as ability to communicate effectively, respond to the needs of others, and influence the behavior of the followers directing them towards the achieving of the set goals and implementation of the leader’s vision.
