The work introduces the circle of the basic ideas and methods of error-free recovery of the binary signal to the multichannel digital technology based on the model of formal (artificial) neuron and aims to contribute to the further development of this theo-ry of reliability. The work is useful for reservation or for exchange of a highly valuable information. During communication be-tween machines, connection related problems could occur and this work will be of a great help for machines to choose right channel for connection. Work also is a successful attempt of figuring out binary signal error recovery probability of minimum highest value. Moreover, binary channels optimization problems addressed by using threshold model and exploring three differ-ent approaches. In the future, this work will be used in Internet of Things (IoT) for the exact communication between machines. Work will be used with threshold model for minimizing errors in the communication between things. Straipsnyje pristatomos idėjos ir metodai skirti daugiakanalių sistemų klaidoms skaitmeniniuose signaluose atstatyti. Nagrinėjama technologija grindžiama formaliuoju (dirbtiniu) neuronu, plėtoja patikimumo teoriją ir gali būti taikoma rezervavimo, siunčiant labai svarbią informaciją, sprendimams. Siekiant pagrįsti alternatyvaus kanalo tinkamą parinkimą, trimis skirtingais būdais nagrinėjamos dvejetainių signalų atstatymo tikimybės. For Multi-Objective Robust Optimization Problem (MOROP), it is important to obtain design solutions that are both optimal and robust. To find these solutions, usually, the designer need to set a threshold of the variation of Performance Functions (PFs) before optimization, or add the effects of uncertainties on the original PFs to generate a new Pareto robust front. In this paper, we divide a MOROP into two Multi-Objective Optimization Problems (MOOPs). One is the original MOOP, another one is that we take the Robustness Functions (RFs), robust counterparts of the original PFs, as optimization objectives. After solving these two MOOPs separately, two sets of solutions come out, namely the Pareto Performance Solutions (PP) and the Pareto Robustness Solutions (PR). Make a further development on these two sets, we can get two types of solutions, namely the Pareto Robustness Solutions among the Pareto Performance Solutions (PR(PP)), and the Pareto Performance Solutions among the Pareto Robustness Solutions (PP(PR)). Further more, the intersection of PR(PP) and PP(PR) can represent the intersection of PR and PP well. Then the designer can choose good solutions by comparing the results of PR(PP) and PP(PR). Thanks to this method, we can find out the optimal and robust solutions without setting the threshold of the variation of PFs nor losing the initial Pareto front. Finally, an illustrative example highlights the contributions of the paper.

2020 posed a series of unforeseen challenges for economic actors. Digitalization, one of the most critical drivers of innovation, provided a lifeline for organizations who anticipated the opportunity and ramifications of a global pandemic. Digitalization offered alternative solutions for contacting partners, serving customer needs, retaining customers, and creating the possibility of online administration. The present study seeks to answer the question – using a database of ongoing research – to what extent are Hungarian and Romanian businesses able to discover the characteristics of the digital transformation, where and to what extent digital technology plays a role in the supply chain, and whether they have started digitization. The developed quantitative database was analyzed and processed utilizing SPSS 25 statistical software. Descriptive statistics and frequency analysis were run, followed by an analysis of variance to explore the existing relationships. For the multiple mean comparison test, the Tamhane test was used to analyze for differences in groups. As a result of the evaluation, the authors found statistical support that managers opinions on Internet Platforms creating more accessible business agreements is dependent on firm size with larger firms placing more emphasis on the benefits of Internet Platforms than smaller firms. The organizations recognize the potential of digital developments, but these developments are accompanied by a high degree of mistrust. Digital technology is typically used only to conduct processes during production or service activities and not as commonly conducted for increasing market share or expansion. Based on the authors’ proposal, the broadest possible application of digital technology within a company can provide its user a long-term survival, competitive advantage, and further development opportunities.

The Internet is one of man’s greatest inventions. As all transformative technologies, it leaves a stamp on society, social action and values. This is actually a case of the Internet and society mutually constructing each other. Therefore, as the Internet is in constant transformation, social values rebound and impact on further development. This paper is concerned with systems of values grouped around core ideas, here described as ideologies, which continuously renegotiates the development of the Internet. Three basic ideas are identified as underpinning the development of the packet switching system during the 1960s. It is argued that the historical development of the ARPANET, the Internet and the World Wide Web, as well as current developments, are all variations of these three ideas: the distributed network, the envelope and the identifier. It is maintained that these are translated into value systems, ideologies, held by different social groups. These three ideologies are conceptualised as speedism, boxism and markism. These are discussed in relation to various trends in past and current development of the Internet. This paper is also concerned with concepts articulated by Jonathan Zittrain in his book The future of the Internet and how to stop it (2008), in particular the generative Internet and tethered appliances.

The videos which were subject of this investigation could be classified broadly as instructional videos, presenting processes or specialist machine introductions. As such, they can be referred to as a type of multimedia learning resources. This study compared staff’s views with the students’ perceptions of relevance and usability of a range of instructional videos. The use of videos and mobile digital technology was seen as an enabler of rapid access and self-guided learning, but overwhelmingly, tutors and students valued the face-to-face interaction as a prime enabler of learning. Further development of video resources should be based on the following key considerations: constructing the shortest visual and audio messages, identifying key meta-data to enhance reusability, adaptation of teaching and learning styles.

A review of developments, trends, and challenges in synthesis, design, and operation optimization of ship energy systems is presented in this article. For better understanding of the context of this review, pertinent terms are defined, including the three levels of optimization: synthesis, design, and operation (SDO). The static and dynamic optimization problems are stated mathematically in single- and multiobjective form. The need for intertemporal optimization is highlighted. The developments in ship energy systems optimization throughout the years is clearly presented by means of journal articles, giving the main characteristics of each article. After the review of what has been done up to now, ideas for future work are given. Further research needs for optimization of ship energy systems are mentioned: further development of methodology for synthesis optimization and SDO optimization, including transients, uncertainty, reliability, and maintenance scheduling. Hints are given for expansion of the system border in order to include aspects belonging to other disciplines, such as electrical and control engineering as well as hull and propulsor optimization, thus, opening a way to the holistic ship optimization.

The main purpose of human in any culture, including the culture of the nomads of Inner Asia, is procreation. The standard of traditional society was the life of its members in the family, surrounded by children and grandchildren. This article attempts to accumulate known material reflecting the features of the reproductive culture of the Turkic-Mongolic peoples of Inner Asia, representatives of predominantly nomadic culture, its development right up to the beginning of the 20th century. Research interest focused on basic ideas and actions that program the future family well-being of nomadic society young members. Attention was also focused to the problem of extramarital relations of maidens and women among the Turkic-Mongolian peoples of Inner Asia, as an important category of reproductive culture. A comparative historical and comparative typological analysis of the worldview, the ritual sphere and the legal culture of nomads revealed a common ideological layer, which formed the idea of the need for marriage and the sinfulness of loneliness. People who did not marry, or those who remained childless, became outcasts of society. They were associated by a number of negative ideas and will accept, including the views of the transformation of unmarried childless women after death into evil spirits that harm women and children. The study of the problem of chastity in the nomadic environment shows the divergence of views and customs of the traditional society with the ethical standards reflected in the legal culture of the Mongolian empire and its successors. The laws of the Mongol Empire differed most rigorously. In the process of further development of the Mongolian law, there is a softening of punishments for illegal sexual relations, along with the growing loyalty of society to extramarital relations and the birth of illegitimate children. The reason for this situation was, in our opinion, a gender imbalance that developed in a nomadic society by the 17th – 19th centuries, a high mortality rate among women of reproductive age and children. In this regard, the scenario of reproductive behavior in the culture of the Mongolic peoples has become focused on the birth of children without any restrictions.

Optimization problems in the fuzzy environment are widely studied in the literature. We restrict our attention to mathematical programming problems with coefficients and/or decision variables expressed by fuzzy numbers. Since the review of the recent literature on mathematical programming in the fuzzy environment shows that the extension principle is widely present through the fuzzy arithmetic but much less involved in the foundations of the solution concepts, we believe that efforts to rehabilitate the idea of following the extension principle when deriving relevant fuzzy descriptions to optimal solutions are highly needed. This paper identifies the current position and role of the extension principle in solving mathematical programming problems that involve fuzzy numbers in their models, highlighting the indispensability of the extension principle in approaching this class of problems. After presenting the basic ideas in fuzzy optimization, underlying the advantages and disadvantages of different solution approaches, we review the main methodologies yielding solutions that elude the extension principle, and then compare them to those that follow it. We also suggest research directions focusing on using the extension principle in all stages of the optimization process.

Abstract This paper discusses the use of Kalman filters as a new approach for building global approximations. Basic ideas and procedures of Kalman filters are first recalled. Next, key elements of how to implement the method for design problems are described. Finally, in order to evaluate the performance of the approach, an inverse problem which consists in optimizing a warhead with respect to constraints on the resulting projectile is solved. It is shown that global approximations are convenient for the solution of complex optimization problems and that Kalman filtering techniques appear a well suited strategy for the construction of global approximations in structural optimization.

In this chapter, we provide brief introductions to the basic concepts of global optimization, evolutionary computation, and swarm intelligence. The necessity of solving optimization problems is outlined and various problem types are reported. A rough classification of established optimization algorithms is provided, followed by the historical development of evolutionary computation. The three fundamental evolutionary approaches are briefly presented, along with their basic features and operations. Finally, the reader is introduced to the field of swarm intelligence, and a strong theoretical result is concisely reported to justify the necessity for further development of global optimization algorithms.
