The study present the clients’ experiences on the different frontline services provided by one government run higher education institution (HEI) in Ilocos Sur, Philippines. It employed a descriptive survey research design utilizing qualitative approach with a self-structured survey instrument. The participants of the study were graduates of the HEI under study. The participants were selected thru purposive sampling. Findings of the study reveals that the Higher Education Institution In Ilocos Sur under study is efficient in the delivery of services and provides satisfactory service to its clientele. However attitudinal problem on some frontline service personnel and poor records handling of some frontline service offices of the HEI needs re-assessment to take necessary measure to address the issues. It is recommended that the management should consider the problems observed and should take necessary mechanisms to improve the satisfaction to its clientele, particularly on for the personnel, reorientation and reflection for development in their attitudes, skills and total personality focusing on clients delight and satisfaction may be undertaken; and systematic records keeping and updating of documents must be undertaken by the frontline service offices.

This article reports on the findings of a study undertaken to establish practices and challenges to academic publishing at a higher education institution in Ethiopia. A descriptive survey design was employed and con- -venience and purposive sampling were used to select the sample. The data were gathered by means of a questionnaire with closed- and open-ended questions and were analysed using descriptive and thematic analysis. The results show that, despite the benefits of publishing, not all academics in the university are publishing in local and international journals due to a number of challenges. These include a lack of commitment and motivation, lack of experience and exposure to publishing, and inadequate information,knowledge and skills to access accredited journals. Academics also suffer from work overload, a lack of support from the university to publish, and challenges emanating from journals themselves. It is recommended thatthe university, the Ethiopian Ministry of Science and Higher Education and other relevant stakeholders should collaborate to address this situation. The objectives of this research are to examine the economics and fikih muamalah based on epistemology paradigm, analyze the epistemological problems that appear from the existance of Islamic economics between the effect of the economics and fikih muamalah, and give solutions of its epistemological problems especially in higher education institution environment. This research use descriptive-qualitative approach method with content analysis dan library research technique. The results show that : (1) the Islamic economics is not just a system or norm but also it is a knowledge that founded by scientific methodology; (2) the existance of Islamic economics between the effect of the economics and fikih muamalah cause the epistemological problems i.e. how to mix between the economics sourced from human thoughts and the fikih muamalah sourced from the God values; (3) the fundamental difference between economics and fikih muamalah especially in epistemological terms require the thought to make a synergy in Islamic economics with re-definition toward both of them.

The study examined the level of satisfaction of the administrators, teaching and non-teaching personnel of services rendered by the Administrative Services through Survey in Private Higher Education Institution in Malolos City, Bulacan. An ongoing effort to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of programs and services in the Private Higher Education Institution in Malolos City, Bulacan and specifically to identify needed adjustments to better “facilitate education” through Administrative Services (AS), the Head, University Buildings and Campus Ground Maintenance Unit develop and administer a comprehensive Satisfaction Survey. The purpose of the study is to examine the area of strengths and weaknesses that were identified through the survey questionnaire used by 50 respondents representing the 20% of the Private Higher Education Institution in Malolos City personnel. This study makes use of the descriptive survey method to obtain date and information needed in determining the Administrative Services Satisfaction Survey.  All Administrators, faculty, and non-teaching staff in the Private Higher Education Institution in Malolos City were invited by questionnaire and completed the survey. The purpose of this brief is to examine the responses from the fifty valid surveys received. The summary of the study provides recommendations for further research and to produce corrective actions on the area that need improvement.

AbstractIAIN Curup, as an Islamic higher education institution, demands the students to master al-Qur'an. One of the steps towards the mastery of the Qur’an is through the activities of tahsin (reciting) al-Qur'an implemented by Ma'had al-Jamiah (college dormitory) of IAIN Curup. Therefore, this study aimed to see the role of Ma'had al-Jamiah of IAIN Curup in overcoming the students' low mastery of al-Qur'an, by paying attention to the results of Ma'had al-Jamiah programs consisting of the practicum of tahsin al-Qur'an and students’ worship practicum. These activities already ran for three semesters. However, it was still found the students who could not read al-Qur'an well and could not perform the prayers properly. This study employed a qualitative approach. The data were obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation, which were then analyzed by using a qualitative approach. Thus,  the following conclusion was drawn: First, the Ma'had Al-Jami'ah programs were quite representative in improving students’ mastery of al-Qur’an; Second, ma'had activities applied a semi-Islamic boarding school education model in a classical form; Third, Ma'had al-Jamiah’s policies concerning the subjects of Tahsin Al-Qur’an, Worship Practicum I, and Worship Practicum II as the requirements to take part in KPM (Community Service Program), PPL (pre-service teaching program), Internship, comprehensive exams, and Munaqasyah (thesis exams) really stimulated students to master reciting al-Qur'an.AbstrakIAIN Curup sebagai lembaga pendidikan tinggi Islam, dituntut agar mahasiswanya mengusai al- Qur’an. Salah satu langkah menuju kemampuan penguasaaan al-Qur’an tersebut adalah melalui kegiatan tahsin al-Qur’an sebagai mana yang di laksanakan oleh Ma’had al-Jamiah IAIN Curup. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini berusaha melihat peran ma’had al-Jamiah IAIN Curup dalam mengatasi rendahnya penguasaan al-Qur’an mahasiswa IAIN Curup, dengan memperhatikan hasil kegiatan Ma’had yang mencakup praktikum tahsin al-Qur’an dan praktikum  ibadah kemahasiswaan. Kegiatan tersebut sudah berjalan selama tiga semester. Namun masih ditemukan mahasiswa belum bisa membaca al-Qur’an dengan baik dan belum bisa melaksanakan ibadah shalat dengan baik. Penelitian ini menggukanakan pendekatan kualitatif. Data diperoleh dari hari hasil wawancara, pengamatan dan dokumentasi, selanjutnya dianalisis dengan pendekatan kualitatif sehingga diperoleh simpulan: Pertama Program Ma’had Al-Jami’ah cukup representatif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa di bidang al-Qur’an; Kedua kegiatan ma’had menawarkan menerapkan model pendidikan semi pondok pesantren dalam bentuk klasikal; Ketiga Ma’had al- Jamiah IAIN Curup menjadikan ketiga materi (Tahsin al-Qur’an, Praktek Ibadah I dan II sebagai syarat untuk bisa mengikuti KPM, PPL, Magang, Komprehensif dan sidang Munaqasyah) sangat memacu mahasiswa dalam penguasaan bacaan al-Qur’an.

Extension activities allow learners to consolidate learning and encourage the construction of critical citizens capable of facing and solving individual and social issues. The objective was to apprehend the perception by extension students of educational actions in the health area. This is an exploratory descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Fifteen extension students of a higher education institution located in Curitiba-PR participated in the study. To support the research, preparatory activities on healthy eating were developed in August and September, 2018, and, in the following month, the educational action was presented by the students to a partner community. The collection of information was accomplished through individual, audiorecorded interviews. The coverage of the extension course shall be considered in several areas, with conciliation of theory and practice, allowing views about different worlds to be rethought and valued.

Topics like (i) out-of-field teaching/researching, and (ii) time management in faculty hiring or new role assignment, are addressed. Besides, the author describes which fundamental decisions he´d take if he could manage a higher education institution or academic department. The topics covered are crucial for the success of any higher education institution, such as (a) hiring, (b) social engagement, (c) student assessment, (d) open mindedness, (e) prompt communication, (f) passion in work, and (g) freedom / trust.

Educational system is the most important social institution, which provides the development of a personality and frames his/her worldview and the conception of subjective well-being. Despite the large number of studies on the issue of psychological and pedagogical security of educational environment, the sphere of higher education still remains underexplored. The available empiric material has not received sufficient methodological justification and conceptualization. This article aims to provide the conceptualization of the risk category as applied to the educational environment of a higher education institution, as well as empiric investigation of the risks within the educational environment as viewed by applicants and students.Materials and methods. 213 applicants and 547 students of the Kuban State Technological University took part in the survey. The following investigation methods were used: expert assessment, interview, questioning, content analysis, analysis of means method, cluster analysis and factor analysis.Investigation results. Comparative examination of the manifestation degree of risks within the educational environment as viewed by applicants and students of higher education institution showed significant differences in the assessment of risk by these groups of respondents. From the point of view of applicants, the main risks are connected with social and psychological aspects of the educational environment of a higher education institution, relations within student groups and interaction with teachers, as well as with the issues related to the educational management and leisure arrangement. As viewed by the students, the risks within the educational environment include external and social and psychological risk factors, motivating risks and risks arising from the learning process organization and management and the related issues. Applicants’ notion of the risks within the educational environment of a higher education institution was mainly influenced by information they received from media and by the opinion of their relatives and age mates.Consideration and conclusions. It was proved that the applicants’ idea of the risks within the educational environment of a higher education institution is determined by the opinion of people they know personally, however it changes during the process of studying in higher education institution and acquiring their own experience of being within the environment. The investigation results allow creating a model of psychological and pedagogical security within the educational environment of a higher education institution. This model makes it possible to forecast main risks of the educational environment, their development, and evolvement and find solution to them.
