A new leptodirine beetle species, Pholeuonopsis (Pholeuonopsis) perucensis sp. n., from a cave in Eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina is both described and diagnosed. The structure of both male and female genitalia and other taxonomically important characters are imaged. The new beetle species is clearly distinct from all other congeners. It probably belongs to an old phyletic lineage of Tertiary origin, like other known Pholeuonopsis taxa from the Western Balkan Peninsula. The new species is both an endemic and a relict inhabiting solely Eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A new leptodirine leiodid beetle species, Parapropus vitorogensis sp. n., from a cave in the western part of the Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is described and diagnosed. Both male and female genitalia and other taxonomically important characters are illustrated. The new species is clearly distinct from its closest congeners. The new taxon is of Tertiary or even pre-Tertiary age and originated during the Alpine Orogeny that affected vast areas of the Balkan Peninsula, including the Dinarides, its terra typica. The new species is both endemic and relict, inhabiting western Bosnia and Herzegovina only.

Three New Species

Seven new troglobitic leiodid beetle taxa (six new species and one new subspecies) from several caves and pits in the Balkan Peninsula (Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia) are described and diagnosed. Three new species belong to the genus Adelopidius Apfelbeck, 1907, two—to the genus Pholeuonopsis Apfelbeck, 1901, one—to the genus Leonhardia Reitter, 1901, while a new subspecies belongs to the genus Apholeuonus Reitter, 1889. All important morphological characteristics of the new taxa have been mentioned and imaged, including the aspects of the male and female genitalia. The new leiodid taxa are properly distinguished from their relatives and are endemics of the Dinaric mountain chain. A key to Adelopidius taxa is added.

A new trechine ground beetle species, Duvalius (Neoduvalius) bozidari sp. n. (from two underground objects in the surroundings of the city of Valjevo, western Serbia), is described and diagnosed in the current study. The male and female genitalia and other taxonomically important morphological structures are presented. The new species is clearly different from the closest relatives and is endemic to caves in a limited area in western Serbia.

Species of the tolutarius species group of the genus Stomodes Schoenherr, 1826 are revised. A redescription of the genus is provided and all available male and female genitalia are illustrated. Two new species, S. benedikti sp. n. and S. dodocunevi sp. n. from Greece, are described. A lectotype is designated for S. amorei Desbrochers des Loges, 1904. The redescriptions of the following species are provided: S. marocanus Hoffmann, 1956; S. muelleri Lona, 1922; S. leonhardi Wagner, 1912; S. letzneri Reitter, 1889 and S. tolutarius Schoenherr, 1826. S. muelleri is for the first time recorded for Macedonia, Bosnia and Hercegovina and Greece; S. tolutarius for Macedonia, Bulgaria and Turkey. An identification key to species of the tolutarius species group is given.

A New Species

A new leptodirine leiodid beetle species belonging to the genus Leonhardia Reitter, 1901, L. solakisp. nov., from a pit in Bosnia and Herzegovina (western Balkan Peninsula) is described and diagnosed. Important morphological features of the new species are listed and photographed. The new species is endemic to the Dinarides of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A key for identification of species and subspecies of the genus Leonhardia is also provided.

Sampling of arthropod fauna by pitfall traps in the cavern ‘Sima de San Rafael’ in Íllora (Granada, Spain) has revealed a new carabid beetle species, Trechus parapandus n. sp., with remarkable troglobiomorphic characteristics: eyes visible only as scars, depigmentation, and elongation of antennae and legs. In consonance with these characteristics, this new species, Trechus parapandus n. sp. is absent in the upper region of the cave. The species belongs to the Trechus fulvus species group (that has five species in Andalusia) according to the characteristics of both male and female genitalia. Study of the fauna in the cave suggests that Collembola might be the prey of this new species since they are the most abundant group and have a coincidental phenology. A key for the 11 Trechus species present in Andalusia is provided.

Two new ground beetle species from western Serbia are described, Omphreus (Omphreus) ovcarensis sp. n. (from Mt. Ovčar) and Omphreus (Omphreus) serbooccidentalis sp. n. (from Bukovi Peak, Mt. Maljen). Male and female genitalia and other taxonomically important characters are illustrated. The two new species are clearly distinct from their closest congeners. They have a restricted and probably relict distribution, endemic to the Dinaric Alps in Serbia. A key to five species and two subspecies of the genus Omphreus Dejean from Serbia is presented.

Trachypteryx electrica sp. nov. is described from West Kazakhstan. The new species significantly differs from other species of the genus Trachypteryx Ragonot, 1893 in the female genitalia: the ductus bursae is strongly reduced and the diverticulum is absent. Two species of the subgenus Bazaria Ragonot, 1887 of the genus Gymnancyla Zeller, 1848, G. turanica sp. nov. and G. latialata sp. nov., are described from the Kyzylorda Province of Kazakhstan. Christophia constricta sp. nov. is described from the same locality. The male and female genitalia are illustrated for all species described.
