Type specimens from the collection of beetles (Coleoptera) deposited in the Department of Entomology, National Museum, Prague, are currently being catalogued. In this part of the catalogue dealing with the Staphylinini subtribe Philonthina (Staphylinidae: Staphylininae) we present information on types of 278 species level taxa. Except for the general collection, the type material comes mostly from the recently acquired collection of the late Lubomír Hromádka. A new substitute name, Philonthus acervulus nom. nov., is proposed for Philonthus zosterops Hromádka, 2013, a junior primary homonym of Philonthus zosterops Hromádka, 2011. One new combination is established: Eccoptolonthus terezae (Hromádka, 2016) comb. nov. from Pseudohesperus Hayashi, 2008. Philonthus zosterops Hromádka, 2011 is synonymized with P. mesophoyx Hromádka, 2016, syn. nov. Correct original spellings of Philonthus terathopius Hromádka, 2012 and Philonthus crecopsis Hromádka, 2013 are fixed. The type locality and distribution of Philonthus camelus Hromádka, 2008 is corrected from Tanzania: Kilimandjaro to the Republic of the Congo: Bouansa.

Type specimens from the collection of beetles (Coleoptera) deposited in the Department of Entomology, National Museum, Prague, are currently being catalogued. In this part of catalogue dealing with staphylinine subfamilies Euaesthetinae, Leptotyphlinae, Megalopsidiinae, Oxyporinae, and Steninae we present information on types of four species of Euaesthetinae, two species of Leptotyphlinae, six species of Megalopsidiinae, one species of Oxyporinae, and 130 species of Steninae. Except for the general collection, the type material came mostly from the recently acquired collection of the late Lubomír Hromádka.

Type specimens from the collection of beetles (Coleoptera) deposited in the Department of Entomology, National Museum, Prague, are currently being catalogued. In this part of catalogue dealing with scarabaeoid families Lucanidae and Passalidae, we present information on types of Lucanidae (five taxa of Lucaninae, four taxa of Syndesinae), and Passalidae (one taxon of Aulacocyclinae, ten taxa of Passalinae). Passalids, all from Nickerls' collection, were previously studied by August Ferdinand Kuwert; comments are given also on specimens of 12 taxa labelled as types incorrectly.

There are 29 species or subspecies in genus Hexacentrus occurring in Asia, Africa and Australia. Because of its similar appearance, it is not easy to distinguish them by traditional methods. In this study, we collected samples and sequenced COI genes from wide range. By reconstructing the gene tree, we found one new species, H. formosanus Chen et He sp. nov., from Taiwan. The new species is similar to H. expansus or H. inflatissimus, but differs from the former in male Cu2 vein of left tegmina curved and slender, and spectrum of male left tegmina slender and subsquare; differs from the later by body size smaller and female tegmina narrow and short. The type specimens are deposited in National Museum of Natural Science, Taichung, Taiwan (NMNS). H. japonicus hareyamai is treated as species level, H. hareyamai stat. nov.

A catalog of the type material of 59 taxa of Neotropical Pierinae housed in the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC, is presented. Each entry includes the species-group name, the original combination quoted from the original publication, the type locality, the type specimens with their labels, and notes about current taxonomic status. One new synonym has been established, Euterpe dysoni Doubleday, 1847 = Leodonta marginata Schaus, 1902. Lectotypes are designated for 5 species group taxa: Archonias intermedia Schaus, 1913, Hesperocharis jaliscana Schaus, 1898, H. paranensis Schaus, 1898, Pieris sublineata Schaus, 1902, and P. limona Schaus, 1913.

The generic group names Cymella Felder, 1874 and Myclela Watson, Fletcher & Nye, 1980 are excluded from the subtribe Nudariina and synonymized with the nominate subgenus of the genus Stigmatophora Staudinger, 1881 belonging to the subtribe Endrosiina. The type species of Cymella and Myclela, Cymella congerens Felder, 1874 is synonymized with the nominate subspecies of Stigmatophora (Stigmatophora) rhodophila (Walker, [1865]). The type locality of Cymella congerens is designated as Shanghai (E China). Two taxa previously treated as synonyms of S. congerens are upgraded to the species level and left in the genus Miltochrista Hübner, [1819]: Miltochrista artocarpi (Moore, 1878), stat. nov. and Miltochrista roseogrisea (Rothschild, 1913), stat. nov. The genus Asuropsis Matsumura, 1927 is excluded from the synonymy of Miltochrista and synonymized with the nominate subgenus of the genus Stigmatophora. The new combination is established: Stigmatophora (Stigmatophora) ranruna (Matsumura, 1927), comb. nov. A new species, Stigmatophora (Stigmatophora) cernyi Volynkin, sp. n. is described from North Thailand and Southwest China. Adults of both sexes of all the species mentioned and their genitalia are illustrated.

In the context of producing a revised phylogenetic Linnean taxonomy of angraecoid orchids, the monotypic and narrow-endemic genus Ossiculum is synonymised with Calyptrochilum. Accordingly, a new combination in Calyptrochilum is proposed for Ossiculumaurantiacum. The morphological and DNA-based evidence for this transfer is discussed. Moreover, Calyptrochilumaurantiacum is here firstly reported outside Cameroon, with a record from the Republic of the Congo. The Red List conservation status of this species is reassessed and it is to be downgraded from “Critically Endangered” (CR) to “Endangered” (EN), following the recent discovery of additional subpopulations in Cameroon.

The article describes a new genus, Laberlia (type species − Langsdorfia bellaria Dognin, 1911), including three species, distributed in northern and central Andes (the territory of Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru). We establish a new combination: Laberlia bellaria (Dognin, 1911) comb. nov. Two new species are described: Laberlia illapai Yakovlev, Naydenov, Penco sp. nov. (type locality − Ecuador, Morona Santiago, 55 km Road Rio Bamba-Macas) and Laberlia apusorum Yakovlev, Naydenov, Penco sp. nov. (type locality – Peru, La Libertad, Pataz prov., S of Tayabamba). The article is illustrated with images of type specimens and male genital structures, the distribution map is provided.
