The study presents the synthesis and characterization of two series of hydrophilic chitosan derivatives, based on imine or amine linkage through PEGylation. The impact of PEGylation on the morphology and supramolecular architecture along with the wettability were studied. The obtained results proved that PEGylation is an appropriate method for tuning chitosan�s hydrophilicity. Adding to that, the properties of the derivatives can be designed according to the targeted application.

Abstract B-Nitrosooxypentamethylborazine, B-nitrooxypentamethylborazine and B-trinitrooxy-N-trimethylborazine have been synthesized and characterized by 1H, 13C, 11B, and 14N NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, vibrational spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The 11B NMR shifts were calculated and compared to the experimental results. The decomposition temperatures and the impact and friction sensitivities of these compounds have been determined as well.

<p>The aim of this research was the synthesis of polymers with the addition of S,S'-thiodi-4,1-phenylene bis(thiomethacrylate) (DMSPS) by bulk polymerization. Styrene (St), divinylbenzene (DVB) and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) were used for the copolymerization as main monomers. The chemical structures of sulfur-containing polymers were confirmed by the spectroscopic analysis (ATR/FT-IR). In order to determine the impact of the sulfur derivative (DMSPS) addition on thermal properties of the obtained copolymers, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was performed. The hardness tests of the obtained copolymers were also applied using a Shore durometer.</p>
