This paper describes the development of a two-factor radio frequency identification (RFID)-based security door authentication scheme that can provide efficient control facilities to restrict the entry of an unauthorised door user. The developed system consists of the RFID unit, a microcontroller programmed to control the operation of the door using a synchronous motor. The multiplexers that comprise integrated circuits combined with the liquid crystal display was utilized for displaying the status of the card user while the alarm system informs the public of an intruder. The experimental results are presented and discussed.

A realização de um inventário não é uma tarefa fácil, principalmente em universidades federais, que possuem muitos bens permanentes. A gestão patrimonial é realizada através de procedimentos de identificação, tombamento, localização, contagem, preservação e desfazimento de bens. Devido a grande quantidade de informações e necessidade de segurança, confiabilidade e celeridade nos processos, deve-se buscar alternativas para melhorar a gestão, reduzir índices de não conformidades e aprimorar o planejamento de compras. O sistema RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification), por exemplo, funciona por meio da comunicação via radiofrequência, com uso de um chip passivo inserido em etiqueta inteligente. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste artigo é analisar a viabilidade do uso da tecnologia RFID para o aperfeiçoamento da gestão patrimonial na Universidade Federal do Vale do São Francisco - Univasf por meio do levantamento de suas vantagens, desvantagens e custos para implantação. Para isto, são realizadas pesquisas em periódicos e bases de patentes, além da realização de entrevistas e análise documental. Entre os principais resultados, constata-se que o processo de gerenciamento de bens da Univasf é realizado de forma manual e desgastante para servidores membros de comissão, para a qual são convocados sem consulta prévia, verificando-se ainda que os prazos são, comumente, ultrapassados. Por outro lado, o custo para implantação do sistema RFID para controle do número atual de bens da Univasf corresponde a apenas 0,78% do valor alocado para as ações orçamentárias referentes às despesas correntes e investimentos, constituindo fatores favoráveis a sua aquisição pela Instituição.Palavras-chave: Radiofrequência. The patrimonial management is carried through procedures of identification, tipping, localization, counting, preservation and undoing of assets. Due to the large amount of information and the need for security, reliability and speed in the processes, alternatives should be sought to improve management, reduce nonconformity rates, and improve procurement planning. The RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system, for example, works by means of radio frequency communication, using a passive chip inserted in a smart tag. Thus, the objective of this paper is to analyze the feasibility of using RFID technology to improve asset management at the Federal University of Vale do São Francisco -Univasf by surveying its advantages, disadvantages and costs for implementation. For this, research is carried out in journals and patent bases, as well as interviews and document analysis. Among the main results, it can be seen that Univasf's asset management process is carried out manually and exhausting for commission member servers, to which they are summoned without prior consultation, and it is also verified that the deadlines are commonly outdated. On the other hand, the cost of implementing the RFID system to control Univasf's current number of assets corresponds to only 0.78% of the amount allocated to budget actions related to current expenses and investments, constituting favorable factors for their acquisition by the Institution.Keywords: Radiofrequency. In the design of radio frequency (RF) microelectronic integrated circuits (IC’s) and of antennas for short-wave radio frequency identification (RFID) and telemetry systems, planar spiral coils are important components. Many approximate analytical formulae for calculating the inductance of such coils can be found in the literature. They can simplify the problem of designing inductors to a predefined inductance considerably. But the error statistics given by different authors cannot be compared because they are based on different or unknown domains of definition. Hence, it is not possible to decide which formula is best in a given case by merely studying the literature. This paper compares the maximum relative errors of six of some of the most cited formulae in the literature. To all formulae, the same domains of definition are applied. Each of them spans all four dimensions of the parameter space. Precise inductances are obtained numerically with the help of the free scientific and industrial standard software FastHenry2 and used as reference values to calculate the errors of the formulae. It has been found that the alleged maximum errors reported by some authors are far too optimistic. Only two formulae feature small enough errors to be useful in circuit design. The method and the domains of definition applied in the present study may also prove useful for the assessment of future formulae.

This final project aims to design a door security device using RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification) and the keypad as a method of access into the room. The system will automatically give warning when the code is entered incorrectly or burglars entered by breaking the door. The microcontroller that is used as the central data processing is ATMega 16 microcontroller ATMEL production and security sensors are used PIR (Passive Infra Red) and magnetic switches.The design begins with a schematic device hardware and software design using CodeVisionAVR programming. Implementation phase includes the implementation of the physical tools, programs, and sensors. The testing phase is done by testing the input sensors and exit switches, siren output devices, DC motor, LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), the RFID reader, keypad, and system controller.The results of room layered security system works according to design. PIR sensors can detect human activities and turn the LED lamp indicator on. Magnetic switch sensors will provide input to the microcontroller to enable or disable the DC motor as the room locking system. Admin menu that is accessed from the keypad is to add users, remove users, see registered users and change the password. User menu which is also accessed using the keypad, work as the room access using a username and password.This study resulted in the layered security. Room access is done using RFIDTag and password. The room piercing detection is done by sensor PIR (Passive Infra Red) and magnetic switches. Alarm used as a piercing action warning. This layered room safety device produces a better security system.

RFID (radio frequency identification) chips are usually called electronic volume label or radio frequency volume label. Now a new transponder is developed and it can accurately measure the surroundings pressure, temperature and humidity. Besides, it can complete the function of sensor by combining with RFID chips, which make the transponder can monitor the change of pressure, temperature and humidity and this information can be sent to reading device through RFID chip. This paper combines this technology and fire alarm system to prevent fires. This system connects RFID chips CC2430 sensor with each temperature sensor DS18b20. DS18b20 is placed in the area needed to be monitored according to certain order, and the single way is employed to connect every CC2430 module. The temperature sensor DS18b20 and its connection with CC2430 chips hardware are very practical and simple. We combine its address line, control line, and data line into one signal line which can be controlled individually and just needs CC2430 1 root I/O lines.

An aim of this paper is to use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology in facilitating efficient file management system. RFID is an abbreviation of radio frequency identification, RFID was poised to take off and become a standard piece of library technology. An RFID transmitter is also needed to capture the radio frequency signal from the tag for turn out to be giving out by the RFID reader. Therefore RFID has been referred to as “a non-contact method of using radio frequency electromagnetic waves for communication between two remote entities”. An Objective of this paper is to design 3D modeling of file rack using Creo software, manage the files using RFID tag, read the files from RFID using microcontroller through embedded code and to display the files using 16x2 Liquid Crystal Display and 4x4 keypad. The position of the files in the rack will be identified using Light Emitting Diode.
