The United Nation's Fund (UNICEF) states that as many as 30,000 infant deaths in Indonesia and 10 million deaths of children under five in the world each year can be prevented by providing breast milk exclusively for the first six months of a baby's life. Some problems that often arise during breastfeeding are less ASI syndrome. Breast milk production and expenditure is influenced by two hormones, namely prolactin (affects the amount of ASI production) and oxytocin (affects the process of breastfeeding). Prolactin is related to maternal nutrition, the better the nutrients are good, the more milk produced. This study aimed to determine the effect of consumption of katuk leaf boiled water on the expenditure of breast milk production in postpartum mothers IN Manurung Medan bpm with the quasi experiment method and cohort design. The intervention sample group (consuming katuk leaf decoction) and control sample groups were 16 respondents respectively. The statistical test used is man why test. The statistical test results obtained p (sig) is 0.009 <0.05, it can be concluded that there is an influence of katuk leaf decoction consumption on increased milk production in postpartum mothers. It is expected that postpartum mothers, health workers and the community will be more maximal socializing and utilizing katuk leaves as a solution to increase breastmilk production in postpartum mothers to achieve exclusive breastfeeding for generations with better quality human resources.

Milk is produced by releasing the hormone oxytocin through the ducts in the breast. The growth and development of a baby's brain nerve requires high-value nutrients by giving the mother's milk to the baby. One of the obstacles in giving ASI early is the production of less milk in the first days. The length of time spent breastfeeding is influenced by the hormone oxytocin and the hormone prolactin which can be released by means of endorphin and oxytocin masage is done by gentle caress first and then massage on the back. endorphin and oxytocin masage is an intervention that is expected to help post partum mothers facilitate breast milk production. Rusdiati's 2013 results show that there is an effect of oxytocin massage on breastfeeding in postpartum mothers. The results were obtained after oxytocin massage ASI out faster than not done oxytocin massage. This study used a pre-experimental design with one group pre test post test design method. The population is all mothers who breastfeed babies aged 0-6 months. The sampling technique used is total samling. Data analysis using Wilcoxon obtained the results of ρ = 0,000, so that ρ <α = 0.05, then there is the influence of the Application of Masage Endorphin and Oxytocin Method to Increased Breast Milk Production in Breastfeeding Mothers of Babies 0-6 Months in Gading Village. :  EFFECTIVENESS OF LAVENDER STEAM AROMATHERAPY AND OXYTOCIN MASSAGE IN BREAST MILK DEVELOPMENT IN POSTPARTUM MOTHERS  Background: Breast milk (ASI) is a natural nutrient with the most suitable nutritional content for optimal growth. The reasons that cause the failure to provide exclusive breastfeeding are both mother and baby factors, as well as psychological conditions due to postpartum exhaustion may affect lactation. One of the non-pharmacological treatments to help postpartum mothers still feel comfortable and relaxed so that they can have a calming effect and help make breast milk smooth is by offering oxytocin massage (OM) and lavender steam aromatherapy (LSA) to postpartum mothers. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the efficacy of steam aromatherapy stimulation and oxytocin massage in milk production. Methods: The research design used was the post-test-only design. The sample in this study consisted of 30 postpartum Primipara mothers with the sampling technique using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the T Independent Test. Results: The findings of the univariate analysis showed that more respondents were over 25 years of age (73%), most recently graduated from high school (67%), and did not have a job (57%). bivariate analysis showed that OM intervention therapy in postpartum mothers was more efficient in the development of breast milk with a standard deviation of 6.60591 compared to the intervention of LSA (SD = 9.74435). Conclusion: It can be concluded that relaxation of oxytocin massage and Lavender steam aromatherapy for postpartum mothers in Makassar Health Centre, South Sulawesi, both of which have a relaxing effect and help postpartum mothers to smooth breast milk. However, in this study OM is more effective in accelerating the development of breast milk in postpartum mothers rather than intervention of LSA.           Suggestion Oxytocin massage is more effective in accelerating the development of breast milk in postpartum mothers, therefore health workers, especially midwives are advised to use oxytocin relaxation massage while offering Lavender steam aromatherapy as an alternative method to help postpartum mothers encourage breast milk production.
