Dengan demikian, untuk mengatasi relasi agresional, penting memperkuat nilai-nilai religius yang berhubungan langsung dengan pemaafan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.</strong></p><p><strong><br /></strong></p><p><em>Abstract</em><strong> </strong>- <strong>Relational aggression is one type of bullying, beside the other types: physical and verbal aggression. This problem has occurred from kindergarten time, and unfortunately still continued to the college level. On the other hand, every university is committed to educate noble values that in line with their religion to their students in an academic environment. Thus, religiosity and forgiveness is something that is important for university students. This study wanted to see the relationship between religiosity and forgiveness of student relational aggression.</strong></p><p><strong>Methodologically, this study used a quantitative approach with statistical regression techniques. As research instruments, this researach used Likert scale that measures religiosity, forgiveness and relationships agresional of students. Research findings indicate that religiosity has no direct influence on relational aggression, but had significant effect on forgiveness, while forgiveness has a direct influence on the relation agresional. Thus, to overcome agresional relationships, it is important to reinforce religious values that directly related to forgiveness in everyday life.</strong></p>

At the recent CLTA-S2 conference, a spirited debate occurred between critics of second language acquisition (SLA) research and researchers who embraced it. Fascinating as it was, neither camp appeared to have convinced the other, but, more important, the debate left much of the audience flummoxed. In this paper, I intend to provide a follow-up, attempting to clarify a) the relationship between research and teaching in the context of Chinese as a second language (CSL), b) misunderstandings on the part of critics over research findings, and c) potential pitfalls in interpreting the SLA literature. My goal is to encourage, as well as contribute to, further communication between the two camps, for the ultimate good of CSL instruction and learning.

<p>The relationship between decision-making and emotions has been increasingly explored in the past thirty years by physicians, psychologists and economists. Because of the impact that emotions have on human behaviour, ethical implications need to be examined if we consider that managers could use emotions to motivate employees. This paper analyses the content of the code of ethics of 278 companies listed on the Italian stock exchange in order to verify how the codes take into account the emotion of fear experienced by employees in the workplace. Research findings revealed that companies have failed to consider the word “fear” and most of the other terms expressing similar emotions. On the other hand, their codes of ethics focused on ethical standards that should be respected, such as the dignity of each single individual and on unethical actions that must be avoided, such as acts of physical or psychological violence. </p>

A variety of metaphors have been used in seeking to conceptualise the relationship between social and educational research, on the one hand, and policymaking and practice, on the other. One influential analogy is the idea that research findings can and should be translatable into policy, and thereby into practice. This article will provide a conceptual analysis of the source meaning of «translation», and what is involved in this metaphorical use of it. It will be argued that many of the issues that arise in relation to translating text from one language into another have parallels in the task of communicating research findings to policymakers or practitioners. However, the idea that research findings can then be «translated» into policy and practice is much more problematic.

This study aims to investigate victimization of bullying in primary school children, as well as its relationship with children’s perception of being a victim. In a sample of 4646 students from 3rd to 6th grade, we evaluated children’s victimization and cybervictimization behaviors, and children were also asked whether they had been victims of bullying or cyberbullying. From the participants, 36.7% were victims, and 4.4% cybervictims. In addition, 24.2% had a perception of being a victim, and 4.9% a perception of being a cybervictim. On the other hand, 56.9% of victims of traditional bullying had no perception of being a victim. The victimization behaviors of traditional bullying associated with a higher perception of being a victim were threats, while physical and direct verbal aggression implied a lower perception of being a victim. The results suggest the most frequent victimization behaviors may be normalized.

Taking Portugal and the period from 1993 to 2009 as its points of reference, this article analyses the relationship between economic deprivation and crimes against people and property that were recorded by the police authorities. The statistical regression analyses carried out included economic, demographic and social variables and the results obtained show that situations reflecting the economic juncture and greater deprivation are associated with a higher incidence of crime against people, though, on the other hand, a lower incidence of crime against property. The results obtained are discussed against the background of the theoretical corpus available and the methodological options adopted.

In this introductory article, the authors discuss the topic of social constructions of space by deconstructing what are widely referred to in academic studies as hegemonic narratives. In order to introduce a collection of articles critically, however, the authors pay special attention to the ways in which academic studies have traditionally historicised cultural, political and geographical spaces and have therefore played a role in spatial interpretations of nationalism, sovereignty, and territory. References to research findings and observations presented by an interdisciplinary cohort of scholars during a symposium held at Durham University’s Institute for Advanced Studies provide the context for this article. To this end, the authors expand the scope of three of these presentations - comprising a collection of articles exploring nationalism, sovereignty, and territory - and extract common research findings before proceeding to engage more critically with questions about how the various participating disciplines understand space in the context of knowledge and power. The authors conclude that hegemonic narratives relate to individual past, present, and future contexts, as well as to the ways in which academics, politicians, and the wider public interpret them. In conclusion, the authors demonstrate how the relationship between knowledge about space on one hand, and power to construct or interpret space(s) on the other, provides ample opportunity for discussion across disciplines.

Abstract In human-chatbot interaction, users casually and regularly offend and abuse the chatbot they are interacting with. The current paper explores the relationship between chatbot humanlikeness on the one hand and sexual advances and verbal aggression by the user on the other hand. 283 conversations between the Cleverbot chatbot and its users were harvested and analysed. Our results showed higher counts of user verbal aggression and sexual comments towards Cleverbot when Cleverbot appeared more humanlike in its behaviour. Caution is warranted with the interpretation of the results however as no experimental manipulation was conducted and causality can thus not be inferred. Nonetheless, the findings are relevant for both the research on the abuse of conversational agents, and the development of efficient approaches to discourage or prevent verbal aggression by chatbot users.

With 338 fifth-grade students as subjects, this study found the variations in the relation between school bullying and social preference as a function of gender and types of aggressive behavior utilized. Aggressive boys were likely to be rejected by peers, whereas aggressive girls were both rejected and accepted by peers. Children nominated physically aggressive boys and relationally and verbally aggressive girls as bullies. When other forms of aggression were kept constant, verbal aggression was positively related to peer rejection for boys but negatively related for girls. The use of relational aggression contributed to peer rejection only for girls. Implications of the gender differences are discussed.

In recent years the number of researches studying aggression in the context of emotional intelligence has increased, however, the problem of the relationship between the level of aggression and the level of development of specific emotional intelligence components is still poorly studied. The purpose of this article is to give an overview of foreign studies focused on aggression and its connection with emotional intelligence and its components. The article considers studies demonstrating the relationship between the General level of aggression, physical and verbal aggression, overt and relational aggression, anger and hostility and emotional intelligence. The article presents the results of studies showing the specific role of emotional intelligence and its components in reducing the level of aggressive behavior, and the ability of emotional intelligence to be a predictor of aggressive behavior. A better understanding of these psychological processes will help to develop and implement more effective programs for the prevention of aggressive behavior.
