Background: Elderly experiences with degenerative process in their life spam and physical condition as well as their ability to adopt with their environment. Those conditions will influence the achievement of elderly wellbeing.Purpose: This study aims to examine physical wellbeing in elderly based on social support and elderly characteristic.Method: This study employed cross-sectional survey design. The population was elderly who lived in east Surabaya. One hundred and ten of elderly were recruited. Their age was more than sixty years old, living with their family and under Medokan Ayu Public Health Center supervision. Multi stage random sampling was performed. The research instrument was physical wellbeing including elderly autonomy, cognitive, complaining about physical and disease as well. Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Square (SMART PLS) was used to analyze the data.Results: The research results showed that majority of emotional support in social support variable was good (98%). The majority of instrumental support was good (88.18%). Social wellbeing has significant relationship with the elderly physical wellbeing (p 0.312, t-statistic: 4.420, t-table: 1.65), elderly characteristic of holistic care (0.178, t-statistics 2.422, t-table: 1.65), and elderly characteristic of physical health (0.140. t-statistic 1.790, t table.1.65).Conclusion: Social support influences the physical wellbeing of elderly.

E-Health is one of the solutions to provide better access for patients and physician to healthcare facilities. In developing countries, e-Health is particularly important due to a shortage of physician and medical workers. Although most physicians in developing countries like Bangladesh acknowledge the benefits of e-Health, low adoption is not uncommon. The objective of this study is to identify the critical factors affecting e-Health adoption among physicians in Bangladesh. A cross-sectional survey questionnaire method was used for this study. The structural equation modeling (SEM) with the partial least square (PLS) approach was used to analyze the data. The study found that Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence and Personal Innovativeness had a significant impact on the behavioral intention to use e-Health, while Facilitating Conditions had no significant effect. The findings of this study will facilitate the degree of more acceptance of new technology by the physicians for their own betterment.

This study aims to investigate the determinants that influence youth in preparing for entrepreneurship in Indonesia. A quantitative approach was applied, using a cross-sectional survey with 425 young entrepreneur respondents in East Java. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The findings showed that entrepreneurial intentions can be explained by the institutional environment and can provide motivation to start a business. This study confirmed the strong correlation between motivation to start a business and entrepreneurial intentions in preparing for entrepreneurship programs. The performance of microfinance institutions (MFIs) is crucial for ensuringthe efficient utilisation of funds deposited into the microfinance programmeby donors, as well as for assisting regulators in monitoring the institutions.Assessing the performance of MFIs involves examining its developmenttowards accomplishing its goals. Therefore, MFIs need to ascertain thechallenges to maintain their sustainability and sustain their operations.Additionally, MFIs should focus on aspects such as intellectual capital(IC) to ensure future sustainability. The aim of this research is to examinehow IC dimensions, specifically, customers, structure, human, and socialcapital, influence MFIs performance. A cross-sectional survey design wasused to gather data from 145 managers (48% response rate) from MFIs inMalaysia. In order to determine the sample size of the study, a purposivesampling method was employed. The research model was analysed byusing Partial least square-structural equation (PLS-SEM). Subsequently,the research model was validated using Smart PLS 3.2.5 and the proposedstudy hypothesis. The findings confirm that structural capital and customercapital positively influence the performance of MFIs, except for social andhuman capital. The research model explains 67.6% of the substantial amountof variance in MFIs performance. AbstractStress is concomitant with students’ life and can have a significant impact on their lives, and even how they go about their academic work. Globally, in every five visits by patients to the doctor, three are stress-related problems. This study examined stress and its impact on the academic and social life among students of a university in Ghana. The descriptive cross-sectional survey design was employed. Using the stratified and simple random (random numbers) sampling methods, 500 regular undergraduate students were engaged in the study. A questionnaire made up of Perceived Stress Scale and Students’ Life Satisfaction Scale was used to gather data for the study. Frequencies, percentages, means and standard deviation, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), with AMOS were used for the analyses. It was found that majority of the students were moderately stressed. Paramount among the stressors were academic stressors, followed by institutional stressors, and external stressors. Stress had a significant positive impact on the academic and social life of students. It was concluded that undergraduate students, in one way or the other, go through some kind of stress during the course of their study. It was recommended that the university, through its Students’ Affairs, and Counselling Sections, continue to empower students on how to manage and deal with stress in order to enhance their academic life.

This study investigated the factors that influence Ghanaian entrepreneurs to adopt e-commerce. Cross-sectional data was gathered from 520 entrepreneurs in the most populous and industrious regions in Ghana. The unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) was employed to effectively understand the unexplored phenomenon of e-commerce adoption among Ghanaian entrepreneurs. Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the hypothesized relationships. The findings indicate that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence (SI) positively and significantly influenced the behavioral intention (BI) to adopt e-commerce. Facilitating conditions (FC) and BI had a significant positive relationship with the adoption of e-commerce.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is the measurement of forensic accounting’s (FA) impact on sustainable corporate governance (SCG) within Omani public listed companies. Beyond merely cataloging the latest criminal innovations and SCG problems, this paper offers a path forward to overcome the myriad threats that can harm the organization and society. FA and SCG can achieve, anticipate and prevent tomorrow’s fraud today before organizations reach the point of no return. Design/methodology/approach For this study, FA is an independent variable and SCG is the dependent variable. This study used a descriptive cross-sectional survey design. Data are collected by internet-based tool and analyzed via partial least squares structural equation modeling and Statistical Package for Social Sciences. Findings Result suggests that FA has a significant direct impact over SCG; moreover, FA can become the part of governance management toward the elimination of fraud and achievement of SCG. Practical implications This study can assist regulators, professional bodies and organizations in amending their codes of corporate governance and organizational policies by introducing the SCG clauses and making FA as a compulsory part of governance system. Originality/value Up to the best of the knowledge of researchers, there is no study conducted before which verifies the FA impact on SCG; moreover, previous relevant studies verify only one constituent for SCG, whereas this study is identifying three constituents necessary for SCG.

Leaders can influence the prosocial behaviour of employees through their behaviour and action. The study investigated the effect of environmentally specific servant leadership (ESSL) on employees’ voluntary pro-environmental behaviour (PEB) in hospitality firms. In addition, the study examined the mediating role of harmonious environmental passion (HEP) in the relationship between ESSL and PEB. The study adopted the quantitative research design and the cross-sectional survey method was adopted for data collection. The Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS SEM) with Smart-PLS 3.2.8 software was used for data analysis. The results indicated a significant positive relationship between ESSL and employees’ PEB. The mediating effect of HEP is significant. Theoretical, empirical and managerial implications are discussed.

A nurse performance greatly determines the quality of health services in a hospital. The purpose of this study was to prove the influence of transformational leadership on nurse performances, both directly and indirectly through organizational culture and work motivation. The research method used was a quantitative approach with cross-sectional design. The number of samples consisted of 86 nurses in a private hospital. Data collection used a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Research results shew that transformational leadership had a positive and significant effect on nurse performance both directly and indirectly through organizational culture and work motivation). The study results have shown that Transformational Leadership is effect on Organizational Culture. Transformational Leadership is effect on Work Motivation. Transformational Leadership, Organizational Culture, and Work Motivation are effect on Nurses Performance. Organizational culture mediated the effect of the transformational leadership on performance.

PurposeBased on Azjen’s (1991) theory of planned behavior, the purpose of this paper is to complement the existing body of knowledge on entrepreneurial intentions (EIs) by comparing two different university environments in Spain (online and face-to-face) and their impact on EIs of university students using two components of social capital (SC), trust and network ties as variables with influence on the antecedents of EIs.Design/methodology/approachA survey was administered to online and face-to-face students yielding a total sample of 302 and 204, respectively. Partial least square–structural equation modeling is the technique employed to perform the analysis.FindingsSC has a significant influence on EIs in both environments with greater effects online, as a consequence of the mediated role played by network ties between trust and the attitude toward the behavior, the subjective norm and consequently, EIs.Research limitations/implicationsThe authors used a cross-sectional method. However, it would be interesting to obtain longitudinal data to provide a more valid support for the study.Practical implicationsThis study provides insight into the important role played by network ties based on trust in the entrepreneurship process and in the university environment.Originality/valueThis study contributes to understanding the differential impact of SC (trust and network ties) on the antecedents of EIs between the students enrolled in different university environments using two non-parametric techniques Henseler’s multigroup analysis and the permutation test.

This study investigated the antecedents of work engagement of Malaysian employees who were cancer survivors. Work engagement refers to a positive, fulfilling, work-related state of mind characterizing employees who work hard and persist despite difficulties. Employees with high levels of work engagement are deeply involved in what they do and are happily absorbed in their work. This study was aimed to examine the individual and work environment-related factors that influence work engagement. A quantitative research paradigm was adopted, with a cross-sectional design using data collected from cancer survivors registered at the Hospital Kuala Lumpur. The 270 participants in this study were randomly selected by inclusive criteria sampling. A validated instrument was tested in a pilot study. Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) was used to test the direct effects of work engagement. It was found that the level of all the tested variables (work engagement, employee resilience, social support, and quality of working life) among the participants were high. This study highlights the importance of resilience and social support in improving work engagement among cancer survivors in Malaysia.
