This revision seeks to analyze the methodological intersections of contemporary art and psychoanalysis, by considering the value attributed to communication disorders by both fields. I will analyze elements of "In the Face of time: History of art and anachronism of Images" (2000), by Didi-Huberman. In addition, I will single out two texts that are crucial to the psychoanalytic method: "The Uncanny” (1919), by Freud and "Function and field of speech and Language" (1953), by Lacan. The concept of the uncanny is central to this approach, since it reveals the proximity between strangeness and familiarity. It is through the concept of the uncanny that psychoanalysis unfolds the perspective of a negative aesthetics, which is not at the service of the completeness of communication. Instead, it focuses on the cracks that paradoxically allow us to say more and to look at the latent contents of communication. Contemporary art and psychoanalysis both use non-linear communication. Research performed at their intersection is based on qualitative methodologies and seeks to analyze exemplary situations in culture, such as the discourses of an epoch and works of art. In this methodological encounter, there isn’t a single meaning to be sought. On the contrary, it is the researcher’s task to reflect on the paths that lead to the creation of a work of art, as well as on the ideals it conveys, its singularity and its relationship with culture. He can then render visible the complexity and the multiple meanings embedded in the work of art.

No-one who has ever seen the original The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) is ever likely to forget the experience. An intense fever dream (or nightmare), it is remarkable for its sense of sustained threat and depiction of an insane but nonetheless (dys)functional family on the furthest reaches of society who have regressed to cannibalism in the face of economic hardship. As well as providing a summary of the making of the film, this book discusses the extraordinary censorship history of the film in the UK (essentially banned for two decades) and provides a detailed textual analysis of the film with particular reference to the concept of ‘the Uncanny’. The book also situates the film in the context of horror film criticism (the ‘Final Girl’ character) and discusses its influence and subsequent sequels and remakes.

Abstract The land border for Indonesia and Timor Leste has a strategic and important meaning, for Indonesia the border region is the front page and the face of the Indonesian Nation. In this paper will explain the history and function of land border between Indonesia and Timor Leste. Indonesia and Timor-Leste have a long history of borders, before independence of Timor-Leste's border with Indonesia is not the case because Timor-Leste is still part of Indonesia but after Timor-Leste's independence, the two countries must set boundaries. This is important because the border has a function that can maintain security and create prosperity on each border of both countries.  Abstrak Perbatasan darat bagi Indonesia dan Timor Leste memiliki makna yang strategis dan penting, bagi Indonesia wilayah perbatasan merupakan halaman depan dan wajah dari Bangsa Indonesia. Dalam tulisan ini akan menjelaskan tentang sejarah dan fungsi perbatasan darat antara Indonesia dan Timor Leste. Indonesia dan Timor Leste memiliki sejarah panjang dalam hal perbatasan, sebelum merdeka perbatasan Timor Leste dengan Indonesia tidak menjadi permasalahan hal ini dikarenakan Timor Leste masih menjadi bagian dari Indonesia akan tetapi setelah Timor Leste merdeka, kedua negara harus menentukan batas-batas wilayahnya. Ini penting karena perbatasan memiliki fungsi yang dapat menjaga keamanan serta menciptakan kesejahteraan di perbatasan masing-masing kedua negara.

Before photography, only painters, printmakers, and sculptors could tell, through self-portraits, how they saw themselves and how they were perceived. In the past, only artists had the resources to capture and picture themselves. From one brushstroke to another, this mediated gesture marked the perception of the self. Western art highlights numerous works from artists who wrote the history of culture through portraiture and self-representation. In contemporary art, some artists have been able to explore new means to investigate new possibilities of representing the self. In the past, painters seemed to scrutinize the mirror in search for hidden truths; in our era, however, dominated by uncertainty, ambiguity, and speedy records that carry out their obsolescence, new issues cross the representation in contemporary art. It is undeniable that the history of art reveals how self-representation has been an essential tool for artists, regardless of the historical time in which they are inserted, in their search to reflect on themselves and their relations with the world. In the face of an immensely large and virtually inexhaustible universe, in this study we focus on five artists: Rembrandt, Francis Bacon, Robert Mapplethorpe, Cindy Sherman, and Nan Goldin.

Immigration and crime have received much popular and political attention in the past decade and have been a focus of episodic social attention for much of the history of the United States. Recent policy and legal discourse suggests that the stigmatic link between immigrants and crime has endured, even in the face of evidence to the contrary. This study addresses the relationship between immigration and crime in urban settings, focusing on areal units where immigrants tend to cluster spatially as well as socially. The authors ask whether immigration creates risks or benefits for neighborhoods in terms of lower crime rates. The question is animated in part by a durable claim in criminology that areas with large immigrant populations are burdened by elevated levels of social disorder and crime. In contrast, more recent theory and research suggest that “immigrant neighborhoods” may simply be differentially organized and function in a manner that reduces the incidence of crime. Accordingly, this research investigates whether immigrants are associated with differences in area crime rates. In addition, the authors ask whether there are differences in the effects of immigration on neighborhood crime rates by the racial and ethnic makeup of the foreign-born populations. Finally, the authors examine the effects of immigration on patterns of enforcement.

This article begins by outlining contemporary anti-work politics, which form the basis of Sandford’s reading. After providing a brief history of anti-work politics, Sandford examines recent scholarly treatments of Jesus’ relationship to work. An examination of a number of texts across the gospel traditions leads Sandford to argue that Jesus can be read as a ‘luxury communist’ whose behaviour flies in the face of the Protestant work ethic. Ultimately, Sandford foregrounds those texts in which Jesus discourages his followers from working, and undermines work as an ‘end in itself’, contextualising these statements in relation to other gospel texts about asceticism and the redistribution of wealth.

Kedudukan dan fungsi bahasa sebagai alat komunikasi manusia mencakup seluruh bidang kehidupan termasuk ilmu pengetahuan antara lain terkait sejarah peradaban manusia; bagaimana manusia mempertahankan hidupnya, bagaimana manusia memperlakukan alam, bagaimana alam menyediakan segala kebutuhan manusia. Apa yang dilakukan manusia saat ini, saat lampau, dan apa yang dilakukan manusia jauh di masa prasejarah, bagaimana kondisi alam di masa-masa tersebut, apa perubahan dan perkembangannya, dapat didokumentasikan melalui bahasa, divisualisasikan kembali, lalu dipajang sebagai salah satu upaya konversai dan preservasi dalam satu institusi yang disebut museum. Penelitian ini membahas kedudukan dan fungsi bahasa dalam permuseuman. Bagaimana kedudukan dan fungsi bahasa dalam permuseuman baik dalam informasi yang disampaikan oleh pemandu wisata museumnya maupun yang terpajang menyertai benda-benda dan gambar-gambar merupakan tujuan dari penelitian ini. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah gabungan antara metode lapangan dan metode literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum kedudukan bahasa Indonesia berada pada urutan pertama setelah Bahasa Inggris dan keberadaan kedua bahasa dalam permuseuman ini melibatkan dua fungsi utama bahasa, yakni fungsi komunikatif dan fungsi informatif.The existence and function of language  as a medium of communication covers all fields of human life including knowledge, one of them is the history of human civilization; how humans survived, how human utilized nature for their lives, and how nature provides all the necessities for humans. What humans have been doing now, what they have done in the past and far before that in the pre-history time, how the conditions of the nature at those times were and what changes as well as progresses occurred are documented using language, then re-visualized,  displayed as one of conservation and preservation acts in an institution called museum. This research discusess the existence and function of language in museums. How important the existence of a language in museums and what language functions used in museums both in informations given by the museum guides and on the displays accompanying objects and pictures are the aims of this research. The methods used are the combination between field research and library research. The results show that generally the existence of Indonesian language plays more important role than English and both languages have two main functions; communicative function and informative function.

A method and computer program ConRow, which prognostication of development of the dynamically CPLD economic transients is executed by, is described in the article. Such prognostication of economic processes is very important in the cases when their development can result in undesirable consequences, that to go out in the so-called critical area. Extrapolation in a critical area with the use of information about the conduct of the system at an area, near to it, allows to estimate to the lead through of experiment in the critical area of his consequence. For the imitation of conduct of object the function of review is set on entrance influence. For a concrete object this function can express, for example, dependence of change of level sale from time-history of charges on advertising and set as a numeral row. Statistics as a result of analysis of row are represented in a table, where the level of meaningfulness is set statistician, and also parameters of the handed over criteria. The graphic reflection of information is intended for visualization of analysis. Here represented on the points of graphic arts, the crooked smoothing which are calculated as полиномиальные regressions is added. The best approaching is controlled by sight on the proper graph, and also by minimization of their rms errors. Models of prognostication by sight and as formulas represented on graphic arts, the middle is here determined tailings and their chance is checked up on statistics of signs. After the got models determined also and prognosis values of influences and reviews. Establishing an order models of Сr(p) of co integrate regression is carried out separate custom controls. The coefficient of clay correlation of ruФ shows by itself pair correlation between lines with a successive change in relation to each other on a size to лагу of l = 1, 2, 3 . The program was tested on the example of ex-post prognosis at establishing an integration connection and possibility of prognostication of growth of nominal average monthly settlings on the basis of these statistical indexes of consumer inflation in Ukraine.

Modernist literature is inextricable from the history of obscenity. The trials of such figures as James Joyce, D. H. Lawrence, and Radclyffe Hall loom large in accounts of twentieth-century literature. Filthy Material: Modernism and the Media of Obscenity reveals the ways that debates about obscenity and literature were shaped by changes in the history of media. The emergence of film, photography, and new printing technologies shaped how “literary value” was understood, altering how obscenity was defined and which texts were considered obscene. Filthy Material rereads the history of modernist obscenity to discover the role played by technological media in debates about obscenity. The shift from the intense censorship of the early twentieth century to the effective “end of obscenity” for literature at the middle of the century was not simply a product of cultural liberalization but also of a changing media ecology. Filthy Material brings together media theory and archival research to offer a fresh account of modernist obscenity with novel readings of works of modernist literature. It sheds new light on figures at the center of modernism’s obscenity trials (such as Joyce and Lawrence), demonstrates the relevance of the discourse of obscenity to understanding figures not typically associated with obscenity debates (such as T. S. Eliot and Wyndham Lewis), and introduces new figures to our account of modernism (such as Norah James and Jack Kahane). It reveals how modernist obscenity reflected a contest over the literary in the face of new media technologies.
