In this work, the dimensions of a furnace for melting of ferrous alloys were determined. The furnace has an electromagnetic induction heating system. In addition, the parameters of electrical power supply such as frequency and power were calculated. A 5kg cast steel mass with a density of 7.81 kg / dm3 was proposed. This corresponds to a crucible volume of 0.641 dm3. The frequency was obtained from tables, which take into account the diameter of the crucible, and its value was 1 KHz. The energy consumption was determined with the heat required to bring the steel to the temperature of 1740 K, the energy losses through the walls, bottom and top of the crucible. This value was divided between the heating time (30 minutes) and resulted in a power of 4.5 KW. The development of the calculations shows that the induction heating is an efficient process and allows a fast melting of ferrous alloys.

Different heating has an important influence on the efficiency of the production casting. Electromagnetic induction heating technology is a new heating technology. Metallic materials is heated itself directly through the Eddy current effect with the high-frequency electric heating principle. Because of its concentrated heat, high power density and high thermal efficiency, it has more superiority than the current conventional electric furnace heating technology. In this paper, the electromagnetic induction heating system has been designed, and this heating method is applied to the casting production. The results show that the electromagnetic induction heating is very suitable for casting production, which can greatly shorten the production time and improve productivity.

The low frequency transverse magnetic electric induction heating system uses high penetration of low frequency electromagnetic induction heat objects, which is new and high efficient. Due to the magnetic fluxing through objects transversely, it is different with other electromagnetic induction heating methods and this makes it applied more widely. And in this paper, we present the application of low frequency transverse magnetic electric induction heating system in the technique of the lock temperature on seamless line. With the analysis of heating efficiency, it also combines the theory of eddy current loss calculation with the verification results of finite element calculation and introduces the structure design of this system then. The experimental facility VULCAN was setup to study the fuel-coolant interaction (FCI) phenomena in a postulated severe accident of light water reactors. The heating system is important for the facility to prepare molten material in a crucible. This article is concerned with the design of the heating system, which applies electromagnetic induction heating method. The COMSOL code was employed to simulate the induction heating characteristics of a graphite crucible under different current and frequency of the work coil (inductor). Given a frequency, the relationship between the crucible’s average temperature and the inductor’s current is obtained, which is instrumental to select the power supply of the induction heating system. Meanwhile, the skin effect of induction heating is analyzed to guide the choice of frequency and inductor of the heating system. According to the simulation results, the induction heating system of frequency 47 kHz is suitable for the experiment, with a good agreement in temperature between the measured and the predicted.

This paper compares the temperature response of magnetic oil to that of conventional nonmagnetic lubricant oil, in an application of electromagnetic induction heating principles to the design of a system suitable for radiant floor heating. Results of experiments carried out using a closed loop system in which a pump circulates oil from a tank through a heat exchanger are presented. Magnetic oil is found to make a small but nontrivial contribution to the energy efficiency of the system.

Introduction: the systems of thermal effects on thermo-dependent, viscous and highly viscous liquids under conditions of the Arctic and the Extreme North are considered. Low efficiency and danger of heating systems based on burned hydrocarbons, heated liquids and steam are shown. Electrothermal heating systems used to maintain thermo-dependent fluids in a fluid state are considered. The evaluation of the effectiveness of the application of the most common electrothermal system — heating cables (tapes). The most effective electrothermal system based on induction technologies has been determined. Materials and methods: considered methods of thermal exposure to maintain the fluid properties of thermo-dependent fluids at low extreme temperatures. Results: presents an induction heating system and options for its implementation in the Extreme North and the Arctic. Conclusions: induction heating system to minimize loss of product quality, improve the system performance under changing process conditions, eliminate fire product, to reduce the influence of the human factor.
