The thesis deals with building compartment surface layer, consisting of two components: honeycomb transparent insulation and transparent plaster made of glass beads. The layer enables passive solar gains in a building. The aim of the thesis is as follows: (1) Preparation of mathematical model of solar transmission through the surface layer; (2) Setting of basic optical properties of the layer components, necessary for calculating solar gains at the absorber; (3) Choice of optimal properties of the surface components, allowing maximum solar gains in winter and protecting from overheating in summer. The thesis comprises of: introduction, basic equations and definitions necessary in the work, mathematical model of solar transmission through the surface layer, experimental research on basic optical properties of the layer components, choice of optimal properties of the surface components and conclusions.

We investigate the possibility of reusing CTAB solutions for repeated synthesis of gold nanorods. Three tasks have been solved. The first task is to clean the growth solutions from gold nanorods. The second task is to develop a method using a purified cetyltrimethylammonium bromide solution for repeated synthesis of gold nanorods with the same optical properties as in the initial synthesis. The third task is to test the possibility of management of the optical properties of nanorods during repeated synthesis. The polydispersity of nanorods has been estimated by form factor using developed mathematical model.

Nowadays, vehicles are being abandoned by their users due to their high fuel consumption which had not been studied by the user from the start. Thus, the need to study the fuel consumption of vehicles due to one of the factors which greatly affects it; drag force, so as to produce information which vehicle users can have before purchasing their vehicles. With regards to this, this work is focused on the development of a computer program able to evaluate the fuel consumption of light vehicles. To achieve this, the basic equations of consumption are used to arrive at a mathematical relation between drag force and fuel consumption. This mathematical model is further implemented on the analytical software Matlab in order to produce the various consumption curves of the vehicles case study. A simulator which takes into consideration a vehicle’s engine data in order to produce specific consumption curves and provide valid information on the fuel consumption of the vehicle is developed from this mathematical model. It can be used in automotive construction companies and also by any individual.

The article is devoted to the description of the experimental research method when developing a mathematical model for calculating the cutting speed based on information from the cutting zone obtained during the test run in the process of turning using steel coated tools as an example. This paper also presents the results of an experimental study which prove the effectiveness of applying the obtained mathematical dependence.

The geometrical interpretation of the transformation of cylindrical milling of products into profile milling by shaping cutters with a convex and concave cutting profile is considered. A mathematical model of geometric errors of profile surfaces processed with tools with the specified cutting profiles is developed. On the basis of the model and the results of its analysis, scientifically based recommendations for designing a technological operation for profile milling of products have been developed. When processing a product with a contoured cutter with a concave profile, it is recommended to calculate the geometric errors formed in the transverse plane of the shaping cutter, and when machining with a shaping cutter with a convex cutting profile - in the planes of both its ends. The calculated values of the above geometric errors should be compared with the values limited by the work drawing of the product. The implementation of these recommendations will reduce the labor costs for experimental research and control operations associated with ensuring a given geometric accuracy of products.

Mathematical models for the Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations in semiconductors are obtained at the microwave-radiation absorption and its temperature dependence. Three-dimensional image of microwave magnetoabsorption oscillations in narrow-gap semiconductors is established. Using a mathematical model, the oscillations of the microwave magnetoabsorption are considered for different values of the electromagnetic field. The results of calculations are compared with experimental data. The proposed model explains the experimental results in HgSe at different temperatures.

In order to improve the low speed stationary of continuous rotary electro-hydraulic servo motor and avoid the pressure impact in the sealed cavity during the oil distributing, this paper designed the shape of buffer groove, established the mathematical model of pressure gradient, and analyzed change law of sealed cavity pressure gradient under different dimension of buffer groove. The pressure field distribution of sealed cavity was studied in certain radial and axial gap, and it is validated the dimension of buffer groove is rational, which lays foundation for structure design and experimental research of large displacement servo motor.

Properties of the surface layer after cutting or sliding burnishing depend mainly on type of process and its performance conditions. For its comprehensive analysis is necessary to develop an adequate mathematical model and numerical methods of solving it. A common feature of both processes is moving the tool edge on elastic/visco-plastic workpiece. However, these processes are different i.e. the chip formation or chipless forming, therefore, different properties of surface layer depend mainly on: the geometry of the tool edge and its workpiece relative and depth of process. Therefore, this article is about the application of an incremental modelling and numerical solution of the contact problem between movable rigid and elastic/visco-plastic bodies developed in [ to the numerical simulation of physical process of moving a rigid tool on the workpiece.
