Indian students in Malaysia are left behind in terms of education compared to other races. There are several reasons that have been identified as contributing factors to the dropout of Indian students particularly in the secondary schools. Among them is the problem of lack of self-resilience that causes students to overcome the challenges of life and drop out of school. This study aims to examine the influence of self-esteem among Indian students in dropout in Kuala Muda district. The objectives of the study were to identify patterns and characteristics of resilience, to what extent are aspects of student self-resilience influencing dropout and to identify strategies for enhancing student self-esteem. The researcher applies dimensions of self-resilience as in the Masten & Reed Resilience Model. The scope of the study was focused on Indian students in Kuala Muda District and the study sample was limited to five respondents only as this study applied a qualitative study using the interview method. Respondents will be interviewed more than once if it is necessary to clearly identify the nature of the respondents' self-resilience. This research uses student interviewing and observation methods. The study found that Indian students lack the self-confidence to cope with various school life challenges that influences them to drop out of school. However, as time moves on, the state of their mind enters into a moment of maturity that emphasizes that they still have the hope and confidence in themselves to improve their lives despite their difficulties and shortcomings. Some suggestions have also been put forward to enhance the resilience of Indian students.

Now a day’s mental health has become one of the most critical issues among individuals of all ages. Due to the demanding nature of academic field more and more students in higher education are now experiencing elevated level of health difficulties. The consequences of these problems can be devastating for some individuals (Abouserie, 1994) leading to discontinuation of studies also at times. Therefore, the present research was designed to understand the mental health status and the contributing factors if any for the students to drop out of higher education. For the present study the sample comprised of 200 students, 100 from Ph.D. research programs and 100 from post-graduation with equal number of males and females under each group. The students were randomly selected from Panjab University Chandigarh. The participants were administered the following measures viz., General Health Questinnaire-12 (GHQ-12, Goldberg & Williams, 1988), Perceived Stress Scale (Cohen & Williamson, 1988) and Self-Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1965). Results indicate significant differences on mental health among research students and post graduate students.

The phrase “children left behind” refers to minors who are left in their home country while one or both of their parents emigrate for work for at least six months. From a quantitative point of view, children left behind in countries with strong migratory pressure are many. Separation of families in migration is tied to implications about well-being of the people involved—mainly the children—and of the communities to which they belong. The emotional neglect felt by these children is associated with lack of affection and physical intimacy. Through a review of the literature, the purpose of this paper was to show that distress in this pattern of deprivation is manifested by the children in several ways and in different contexts: low school performance, drop-out from school, conflicts with teachers and peers, anxiety, low self-esteem, tendency to feel depressed, apathy, suicidal behaviour, and substance abuse.

In the modern era, there are still many young people who dropped out of school, including at boarding school. Economic factor that make them could not be a formal education. Nevertheless, schools remains committed to make a breakthrough in order to provide life skills for students who drop out of school. Life skill education program through the manufacture of woven fabrics organized in boarding school Miftahul Huda Pabelan Kab. Semarang is expected to provide knowledge as well as to equip the students to have the skills to live. This activity involves several parties such as Home Industry "Afiq", the Ministry of Religious Kab. Semarang and Central Java MUI through the division of the economic empowerment of the people. Through these activities, students are expected to be able to make woven and develop it themselves.

Education is a mandatory thing that must be obtained for every child. However, not all children are able to get education due to several factors, one of which is the economic condition of the family which causes them to drop out of school. Guidance for neglected drop-out teenagers is an action that is taken to overcome one of the social problems, which is neglected teenagers who have dropped out of school with the purpose of directing their personality, abilities and skills through non-formal education. This research was conducted at UPTD PSBR Raden Intan Lampung. The purpose of this research is to describe and analyze how the models and coaching programs are carried out to overcome neglected dropout teenagers.The method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach with the use of data collection techniques, such as: structured interviews, documentation and observation. The data analysis technique used in this study was data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions, and for data validity techniques are the extension of observations and triangulation. Based on the research results, it shows that the model that is used as a reference in the implementation of coaching activities for neglected dropouts teenagers is the Youth Development Program (YDP) Model which has 3 approaches, that are: Institutional Based, Family Based and Community. The conclusion of this research is based on the analysis, namely the Youth Development Program (YDP) Model which is the reference applied through 4 programs by the UPTD PSBR Raden Intan Lampung, that are Social Rehabilitation Program, Social Security Program, Social Empowerment Program and the last Social Protection Program with the hope that this effort can solve the problem of neglected dropouts teenagers, especially in Lampung Province.

Background: Depression is a state of psychological disease that occurs to someone divers in age due to certain reasons. Among the factors include lack of self-confidence, problematic family, stress, low self-esteem and social environment. It could lead to a mental disorder that endangers the mental health. Aim: To investigate the status of children depression using the Children Depression Inventory (CDI) at 21 shelter care institutions in Terengganu Malaysia. Methodology: Quantitative research design was used. The sample consists of 404 respondents from 21 Islamic shelter cares such as Tahfiz, Madrasah and Orphanage in Terengganu Malaysia from the age of 10 to 18 years. Data was analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Discriminant Analysis (DA) which then computed to identify the most dominant factors whereas reducing the initial five parameters with recommended >0.50 of factor loading. Results: Forward stepwise of DA shows the total of groups validation percentage by 92.08% (17 independent). The result showed that the highest frequency of respondent index was at a moderate level (62.87% respondents). This showed that children still can be controlled and cared to reduce depression. The objective of this research was to describes the morality contained in the novel Affairs at the Negeri di Ujung Tanduk the works Tere Liye. The research method used content analysis. The data in this research is a sentence containing the moral values ​​contained by the novel of the State at Ujung Tanduk Karya Tere Liye. Technique of collecting data using documentation technique and record. Data analysis techniques with steps: data reduction, data tabulation and coding, interpretation, classification, and conclusion. The result of the research shows that morality in Tere Liye Negeri di Ujung Tanduk novel is: first, human relationships with other human beings in the form of self existence, self esteem, self confidence, fear, death, longing, resentment, loneliness, maintaining the sanctity of greed, developing courage, honesty, hard work, patient, resilient, cheerful, steadfast, open, visionary, independent, brave, courageous, optimistic, envy, hypocritical, reflective, responsible, principle, confident, disciplined , and voracious. Second, human relationships with other humans or social and nature in the form of cooperation, acquaintance, hypocrisy, caring, hypocrisy, caring, friendship, smile, mutual help, and betrayal. Third human relationships in the form of God's menthidising and avoiding shirk, piety and pleading with prayers, prayers performed by human beings, as an awareness that everything in this universe belongs to God.
