This study examines the impact of financial literacy, financial knowledge, locus of control, financial attitude, financial self-efficacy, and mental accounting on financial behavior. The study sample is an accounting student. There are 159 questionnaires that can be processed in total out of 250 distributed to the accounting selected at random. Hypothesis testing was conducted using multiple regression analysis. The result of the study shows that locus of control, financial attitude, financial self-efficacy, and mental accounting has a positive impact on financial behavior. However, this study found that financial literacy and financial knowledge do not affect financial behavior. This study also found that mental accounting has the most influence on financial behavior. This research contributes that mental accounting enables students to manage finances and make financial decisions.

The main purpose of our study is to find out the impact of financial socialization, cognitive ability, and self-efficacy on financial literacy and financial behavior of investors in Pakistan. This study has used a non-probability convenience-based sampling technique for collecting the data. A total of 429 individual investors were analyzed with the help of structural equation modeling (SEM) through Smart PLS. The results of our research study suggested that the participation of female investors as compare to male investors is very low. The main results of the study showed that cognitive ability and self-efficacy have a significantly positive impact on financial literacy, but an insignificant impact of these two variables on financial behavior was found. Findings also suggested that the influence of financial socialization on financial literacy is insignificant, while financial behavior is positively influenced by financial socialization and financial literacy. In mediating analysis cognitive ability and self-efficacy have positively affected financial behavior, while financial socialization has an insignificant effect on financial behavior through financial literacy. This research study provides important implications for researchers and other policymakers. Policymakers can formulate policies regarding trainings to improve the financial literacy of investors. Researcher can further investigate these variables for other segments of the society.

Several governments around the world have tried strategies based primarily on financial education programs to improve the financial literacy of their citizens. In this study, we discuss a new strategy that involves using knowledge transfer activities carried out by intermediary agents, called financial knowledge brokers, to achieve significant improvement in financial literacy. Thus, the aim of this paper is to test the impact of the five activities of financial knowledge brokers (i.e., financial knowledge acquisition, financial knowledge integration, financial knowledge adaptation, financial knowledge dissemination, and creation of links) on financial literacy. For this, we built a database from a questionnaire carried out to nearly 103 financial advisers during the period June 2015 to June 2017. Overall, the results of Structural equation Modeling (SEM) technique showed that the financial knowledge brokerage activities (four of the five activities) have a positive impact on improving financial literacy as well as on its four dimensions, namely financial attitude, financial behavior, basic financial knowledge, and advanced financial knowledge. Success in the current complex and sophisticated financial marketplaces depends on the ability of people to make sustainable financial decisions to improve their future well-being, for which financial literacy is a pathway. This study examines the relationship between the demographic and socio-economic factors and financial literacy in Japan by segregating financial literacy into financial knowledge, attitude, and behavior, and providing a deeper understanding of the relationships. The methodology included using data from the Financial Literacy Survey 2016 by the Central Council for Financial Services Information of Japan. We used a linear regression model to explain how demographic and socio-economic factors relate to financial knowledge, attitude, and behavior. Results show that education, the balance of financial assets, and the use of financial information are positively related, while the experience of financial trouble is negatively related to financial knowledge, attitude, and behavior. We show that males are more financially knowledgeable than females, but females are more positive than males with regard to financial behavior and financial attitude. Age is positively related to financial knowledge but negatively related to financial attitude, thus suggesting that middle-aged people in Japan are more financially knowledgeable, but younger and older people are more positive with regard to financial behavior and attitude. The findings have implications for policymakers.

Indonesia currently has developed entrepreneurship both conceptually and practically and has developed very rapidly. Knowledge that must be possessed by an entrepreneur is financial knowledge. Adequate financial knowledge is needed to provide entrepreneurial skills to make sound financial decisions. Other variables of financial behavior that are important to be measured along with financial knowledge on the success of young entrepreneurial business are the level of financial behavior and financial literacy. This research was designed as explanatory research to explain the subject of the influence of financial knowledge, financial literacy, and financial attitude towards young entrepreneurial success. The research was conducted in the city of Surabaya. The population of this study is young entrepreneurs who have micro businesses. The sampling technique is done in a way cluster sampling. The analytical method used in this study is to use multiple linear regressions with validity test, reliability test, classic assumption test, and hypothesis testing.

Purpose of the study: The purpose of the study was to compare the financial information, financial self-efficacy and emotional intelligence on the financial management of women lecturer in state and private university. Methodology: This study was designed as a conclusive causality study. The study population was female lectures of state and private universities in Indonesia. From the population, there are two hundred (200) female lectures from a state university and private universities have selected as a sample of study by quota sampling method. The data collection techniques used in this research are interviews and surveys. Multiple regressions was chosen to get results with the SPSS tools. Main Findings: There is an influence of financial knowledge, financial self-efficacy, financial literacy, and emotional intelligence to the financial management behavior of female lecturers at state universities while there is no influence of financial attitude, financial literacy, and emotional intelligence to the financial management [behavior] of female university lecturers in private universities. Applications of this study: The results of this study will be beneficial for financial institutions and governments that usually hold education and training programs for their customers to increase financial knowledge so as to increase the confidence of their customers (including lecturers) in their ability to manage finance. Furthermore, this knowledge will be conveyed back to the students of the lecturer in the learning process about finance, so that it will indirectly increase the financial literacy of their students and society at large. Novelty/Originality of this study: Many researches about financial behavior topics have analyzed financial information factors’ influence on financial management behavior, but few of them have included psychological factors such as financial self-efficacy and emotional intelligence. This distinguishes this research compared to other studies of financial behavior as it analyzes the two effects of psychological factors on financial management behavior. Another novelty of this study is the selection of female lecturer as research object as their characteristic as well-informed and well-educated about financial management that has not observed by previous studies.

Subject. The article discusses the financial behavior of households, and financial decisions. Objectives. I model patterns of households' financial behavior, referring the impact of stress factors on financial decisions. Methods. The financial behavior was analyzed through approaches proposed by D. Kahneman, A. Tversky and R. Thaler. However, instead of experiments, I rely upon surveys evaluating the financial literacy and behavior of people in the Sverdlovsk Oblast via social networks and conduct my research as a member of the task force of the Regions Center for Financial Literacy at the Ural State University of Economics. I took part in the preparation of questionnaires. Results. I proposed model patterns of financial behavior and substantiate what determines the behavioral pattern of people in distress. I also conclude that the impact of the COVID-19 on the financial and consumer behavior of people triggers destabilizing effects for the macroeconomic situation. Conclusions. Financial behavior modeling will help forecast financial and consumer shocks when the macroeconomic situation is destabilized, thus transforming the social policy.

Financial literacy has been identified as an important functional area that attains a special concern in the Indian government policies and plans specially designed for the financial market. SEBI has issued various guidelines and awareness programs towards investment financial products, digital payment systems, consumer protection and so on. Therefore, the purpose of the present article is to analyze the level of financial literacy among youngsters in India. The study examined the relationship between the antecedents of financial literacy, that is, financial attitude, financial knowledge and financial behavior. The theoretical purposed model was tested with the help of primary data that was collected with the help of the self-structured questionnaire. A total of 647 responses were obtained from the respondents belonging to the holy city Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, India. To identify the financial literacy antecedents and their inter-relationship, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling were applied to the collected data. The findings indicated that in the case of the Indian population, financial attitude and financial behavior were significantly associated with financial literacy. The moderation analysis reveals that males are more particular about financial knowledge and financial behavior in comparison to females. Respondents belonging to the age group of 26–30 years have better financial knowledge. Respondents who have income more than ₹800 thousand and below two years have more financial knowledge. This article contributes to the theoretical body of knowledge by providing insights about the interesting topic of financial literacy by identifying its antecedents. The study also highlights the impact of the demographic variables as moderators on the antecedents of financial literacy. The outcomes of the study are vital for the government in the designing of public policies. The findings are helpful for the educational program designers for the outlining of the programs and syllabus for the subjects taught in the schools and colleges. The findings are useful for the bank managers to understand the psychological behavior as well as demographic variables for the effective marketing and communication of their financial products.

Investment decision-making will involve cognitive, psychological, social and behavioral aspects. Financial literacy includes financial knowledge, financial behavior, financial awareness and financial attitudes. This study aims to analyze the impact of financial literacy on investment decisions of Sharia Bank customers. The sampling technique uses random sampling on Sharia Bank customers in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Data analysis using multiple regression. The results reveal that 1) Financial knowledge has a positive effect on investment decisions. 2) Financial behavior has a positive effect on investment decisions. 3) Financial awareness has a positive effect on investment decisions. 4) Financial attitudes has a positive effect on investment decisions.

Almost all the people around the world behave with money in daily lives whereas understanding how they behave is important. It is obvious that the education, which can not affect behavior of people, is worthless. Financial literacy also is believed to change financial behavior of individuals. Financial literacy implies two sides, i.e. concept and application of personal finance. The concept consists financial knowledge and basic skill of numeracy and financial decisions; the application consists the financial behavior. The focus of the article is to discuss how the financial literacy contributes financial behavior and thereby financial wellbeing of individuals. For this, the article presents a transmission mechanism of financial knowledge and skill to the financial behavior through a framework. However, there are some contexts, conditions and criterions to transmit the financial knowledge and skill into financial behavior and well-being. Moreover, categorizing the financial behavior of individuals is a significant issue in study of financial literacy. Particularly for the survey research, a new categorization and degree of the financial behavior is presented, which is ranked as good, moderate and weak financial behavior in comparative ways. The study establishes the relevancy of the evaluation criteria of financial behavior and also presents a framework on how the financial educations work contribute in financial behavior.

Divorce dissolves couple households, who likely specialised in household financial decision-making tasks, into singles who need to learn new skills. Financial decisions will be particularly challenging for those newly separated people that are lacking knowledge and confidence. Given the substantive literature supporting the lack of financial knowledge of women in comparison to men, women are likely to be more disadvantaged by this aspect of divorce. We employ the HILDA Survey and find support for the role of financial literacy in improving wealth outcomes in divorce, particularly for women. We find that the positive impact is significant over the long term. This research contributes to knowledge of the role of financial education in building resilience to endure financial shocks.
