The will to survive is very essential for someone to keep himself struggle until he survives a dreadful situation. This perfectly matches with a case of a man surviving an accident. A 35 year old man met with an accident and fell into a ditch with his motorbike on top of him and the handle of the motorbike pressed his vocal cord. Nobody noticed him falling into the ditch nor could he shout for help. He was all alone by himself in an isolated area where no help will arrive unless somebody sees him. He fell on the ground where the area of the soil under his head was raised which made even harder for him to move his head and free his vocal cord. To save himself he dug out the soil under his head so that he could move his head by creating some space by reducing the bumpiness of the soil. After digging out the soil for several hours he finally could move his head and free his vocal cord too. He shouted for help and soon some people gathered there who took him to the hospital. The victim suffered cervical injury, bruises and cuts on his body along with psychological trauma. Keywords: will power, survival, struggle, accident, dreadful situation.

 Holoprosencephaly (HPE) is a structural malformation of the brain that results from the complete or incomplete noncleavage of the forebrain/ prosencephalon of the embryo into 2 hemispheres1. We present a case of twenty-five year-old primigravida presented to the Outpatient department of Obstetrics for routine checkup and diagnosed with Alobar holoprosencephaly on 2nd level USG. Fetal MRI was performed and the findings were confirmed. Even though ultrasonography is diagnostic in the detection of fetal anomalies, MRI plays a vital role due to its multiplanar capability and excellent soft tissue resolution. The purpose of publishing this case is to sensitize the clinicians to the classical features of holoprosencephaly on various imaging modalities and to stress the importance of its detection before 20 weeks of gestation so as to allow for legal medical termination and alleviate maternal psychological trauma of bearing a deformed fetus.

Abstract Background Previous reports have described hypogonadism associated with virus infection such as hantavirus, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) or severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV-2). However, to our best knowledge there has been no case report of secondary hypogonadism following hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD). Case presentation A previously healthy 28-year-old man with no history of major physical and psychological trauma, presented with bilateral gynecomastia and erectile dysfunction 2 weeks after HFMD. Laboratory testament showed the level of gonadotropin hormones declined. Imaging examination demonstrated no major abnormal change in pituitary or reproductive system. The diagnosis of hypogonadism was established. Then the patient was ordered to maintain mental health outward of hospital without drug intervention. One month after presentation, his gonadotropin hormone level and sexual desire had recovered, while bilateral gynecomastia and erectile dysfunction symptoms disappeared. Conclusions Physicians should notice the possibility for hypogonadism in adult patients with a recent history of HFMD.

Background: Each organ serves a specific function in the human body. Congenital absence or loss of even minor parts of it can pose extreme psychological trauma in addition to the functional impairment and esthetic issues encountered by the individual. Amputation of complete or a part of phalange of hand is frequently encountered either due to trauma or necrosis. Restoration of such defects become mandatory to improve general form and function combined with the esthetic requirements of the patient. It can either be done by microvascular reconstruction or prosthetic rehabilitation. The latter becomes the means of choice in cases where the former is either not possible, unavailable, unsuccessful, or unaffordable. Case Report: A case report has been presented of a 60 years old patient with an old traumatic partially amputated index finger. Treatment Plan: A custom-made glove-type prosthesis was fabricated using silicone elastomer. Conclusion: A ring is provided for better esthetics and special adhesive is recommended for retention of the prosthesis.

The loss of anterior teeth leads to extreme psychological trauma, along with functional and esthetic debilitations. Healthy anterior teeth play an important role of protecting the posterior teeth during excursive mandibular movement. Loss of anterior teeth induces posterior interference with extended disocclusion time. Posterior disocclusion is critical to remove the harmful force on the teeth temporomandibular joint and eliminate muscle hypertonicity. Occlusal interference is considered as contributing factor to temporomandibular disorder (TMD) symptoms. Prosthesis design should eliminate deleterious tooth contacts. Establishing optimum anterior guidance is a key to establishing harmonious functional occlusion in addition to the correction of the esthetic and phonetic disabilities. This case report explains the steps involved in the rehabilitation of the TMD patient with loss of maxillary anterior teeth.

Abstract The article presents the case of a 61-year old female patient, with no history of neurological illness, who presents a rapid onset of two convulsive seizures, triggered by a psychological trauma. The first convulsive seizure is repeated within 24 hours. The general, as well as the neurological clinical examination have not found any pathological signs. MRI scanning of the brain pointed to right-parietal schizencephaly, associated with polymicrogyria, the believed causes of the epileptic seizures.

It is obvious that a person suffers from severe emotional, social, and psychological trauma when an eye is lost due to any reason. After evisceration, custom made ocular prosthesis can be used to improve facial aesthetics as well as social representation of that person. It is always a challenge to properly fabricate an alternate to the lost eye. But after fabrication, it certainly improves psychological satisfaction of the patient. Background: Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis (SCFE) is an incapacitating orthopedic disease, particularly affecting older children and adolescents and caused by the sliding of the proximal femoral epiphysis on the metaphysis. SCFE has a clinical polymorphism, compounded with a certain diagnostic variability among health practitioners and the relatively high cost of its surgical management contribute to the diagnostic delay observed in most developed countries as well as developing ones. Herein, we report the case of SCFE in an adolescent Cameroonian, with emphasis on its diagnostic and therapeutic challenges in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), in a bit to improve on timely recognition and management by clinicians in these settings. Case Presentation: A 10-year-old girl has presented with unilateral right thigh pain of more than one year duration associated with a limping gait and no fever. Before the referral to our health facility, she consulted several general practitioners in rural areas and pediatricians in the city with no definite diagnosis. On the basis of the clinical and the imaging studies, the diagnosis of stable right SCFE with moderate displacement was made. Under general anesthesia, the patient underwent open reduction and internal fixation with three pins under c-arm fluoroscopy. Clinical and radiological follow-up till one year after surgical intervention were satisfactory. The pins were removed after one year of fixation confirming a good bone fusion in plain x-ray. Her clinical examination and radiological follow-up three years after removal of the pins were satisfactory. Conclusion: The case report illustrates that SCFE often a missed diagnosis in LMICs. This is worrisome because delayed diagnosis may lead to long-term complications such as avascular necrosis and early degenerative joint disease. Although the above case was missed by several clinicians and finally diagnose late, the present case highlights the need for a high index of clinical suspicion in order to timely diagnose and timely manage SCFE to avert potential long-term physical disabilities and psychological trauma in children.
