The present paper proposes to determine the types of organizational cultures that exist within the Romanian textileindustry, starting off from Handy’s typology according to which there are four types of cultures, respectively the TaskTypes, the Power Types, the Role Types and the Person Type. In this sense, we have conducted an empirical studymade up of two questionnaires, the first regarding the organizational culture within the Romanian textile industry – fromthe point of view of employees without leadership positions, and the second regarding the organizational culture withinthe Romanian textile industry – from the managerial point of view. Interviews were conducted on employees andmanagers from local companies, by using direct questions, with multiple choice answers, with the purpose of ensuringtransparency and objectivity when processing and analyzing the data. The database of this study contains 110completed and validated questionnaires, divided into the two respondent categories: employees in leadership positions– 65 questionnaires, operating personnel – 45 questionnaires. By utilizing the Cronbach Alpha test, a correlation matrix, the KMO and Bartlett test, a functional analysis, we have validated the viability, the relevance of the items, the existenceof a correlation between them, the construction of synthetic variables, thus demonstrating the presence of 4 types oforganizational cultures within the Romanian textile industry

The article considers the manifestations of the phenomenon of economic risk in the socioeconomic ecosystems of industrial enterprises, examines and differentiates the pragmatic and cultural aspects of the concept of "economic risk management". In terms of methodology, the study is based on the operational theory of risk management, and also uses tools to describe the organizational culture of risk management. Pragmatic and cultural differences in the characteristics of economic risk are identified at the level of stable forms of management activity with the involvement of the main provisions of the operational theory of risk management. The phenomenon of risk is considered in the ontological space as an artificial category of activity of industrial enterprises and other economic agents that form a socio-economic ecosystem. This phenomenon is studied as a specific form of social communication associated with the desire to assess the uncertain future in the present time, mainly from the point of view of analysis and management of the level of economic risk in the enterprise.

Wood splitting, manual as well as mechanized one is a heavy work. It follows from the fact that usually the wood of the least quality, knot wood with scroll fibres, directed for less valuable assortments from the point of view of the price. Present technique on the contrary is relatively price demanding, requesting besides 2–4 members of operating personnel also adequate concentration of wood mass for the reason of the complete process economic efficiency. We submit in this paper technology analysis of the splitter WS 800 performance with the original concept for the wood manipulation and splitting process as well. Essential advantages of the mentioned splitter comparing with the stationary equipments are operational and interoperational wood manipulation, physical effort and operating personnel elimination, while the efficiency and work safety is increasing.

The growing increase in world energy consumption favors the search for renewable energy sources. One of the existing options for the growth and sustainable development of such types of sources is through the use of biomass as an input. The employment of biomass as solid fuel is widely studied and is no longer a novelty nor presents any difficulty from the technical point of view. It presents, however, logistic obstacles, thus not allowing their direct dissemination in every organization that is willing to replace it as an energy source. Use of biomass can be rewarding due to the fact that it can bring significant economic gains attained due to the steadiness of the biomass price in Portugal. However, the price may rise as predicted in the coming years, although it will be a gradual rising. The main goal of this study was to analyze whether biomass in the case of the Portuguese textile industry can be a viable alternative that separates the possibility of sustainable growth from the lack of competitiveness due to high energy costs. The study showed that biomass can be a reliable, sustainable and permanent energy alternative to more traditional energy sources such as propane gas, naphtha and natural gas for the textile industry. At the same time, it can bring savings of 35% in energy costs related to steam generation. Also, with new technology systems related to the Internet of Things, a better on-time aware of needs, energy production and logistic chain information will be possible.

Importance: Current hospital leaders struggle to find leadership style which is beneficial and suitable to face the challenges present in the organization. Limited literature and lack of evidence on leadership styles related to the hospital and healthcare industry leave them directionless. Scarcity of training from the leadership point of view and lack of leadership models and lack of evidence on ‘which leadership style is most suitable and beneficial’ in the hospital industry, especially in the Indian context, increase the need for the current study. Objective: To understand and compare the leadership styles adopted by the top and middle level leaders from the hospital and hotel industry. Methodology: Quantitative study design, that is, survey, was used in this study. Survey tool consisted of structure items on 10 leadership styles with five-point Likert scale. A total of 41 top and middle level leaders from hospital and hotel industry participated in this study. Results: The study addressed issues pertaining to leadership, suggesting a paradigm change in hospital industry in relation to leadership style. Results showed that male leaders dominated the top and middle level leadership positions in both industries. Hospital leaders were older and more qualified and experienced as compared to those in hotel industry. Leaders reported using all 10 leadership styles from low to high levels. As each leadership style has its own strengths and weaknesses, adopting a combination of multiple leadership styles as per the need strengthens the overall output. Conclusion: Mixed leadership style needs to be adopted by the hospital leaders.

The study by Ceci et al. shows that academic behavior associated with the core principles of intellectual freedom is more shaped by institutional incentives than by organizational culture. From an organizational theoretical point of view, this is quite an unexpected finding, not least because we do believe universities to be fairly strong and explicit cultures that should be successful in socialization.

This papers purpose is to highlight the positive aspects that can be drown from using a functional approach based on functional analysis and on TRIZ functional modeling in products design. Since the function notion linked to products design is present and very broadly discussed in many papers why not taken into consideration also the functional modeling from TRIZ where functions are seen as useful and harmful, combined with functional analysis for example. An enlarged view of such contradictions leads to solve problems and help to a better understanding of the product and its functions and why not in emerging new solutions. In this paper, an internal functional analysis approach followed by a useful/harmful point of view to inventoried functions is done for a mandrel. The harmful effects induced by technical functions can be used as starting points for improvements.

The phenomenal mathematical efficiency of quantum field theories in modern high-speed information and communication systems has a very simple explanation from the point of view of common sense and higher mathematical logic: all of them – quantum cosmology, quantum physics, quantum metrics and quantum calculus – are the self-informational mathematical systems based on symbolic and numerical functional analysis and elementary recursive calculations of interrelated space and time parameters of matter motion in various states of the material environment. For the first time in scientific and engineering practice, it was clearly shown that the information entropy of both standard symbolic and non-standard numerical functional analysis has absolute exact limits of computational accuracy – 1/10^16 and 1/10^64, respectively. Moreover, the second limit determines the maximum level of accuracy of practical quantum metrics and calculations and fully coordinates four branches of classical physics – thermodynamics, electrodynamics, gravidynamics, chromodynamics with special and general relativity.
