This paper is focused on the evaluation of economic data obtained from operational records of firefighting equipment with a focus on firefighting and rescue appliances, especially on exit vehicles based on the chassis CAS 20 – TATRA T815-231R55 18 325 4x4.2. These vehicles have been operated by professional units of the Fire and Rescue Service in the South Moravian Region since September 2013. The producer of firefighting superstructures WISS GROUP, Bielsko-Biala, Poland, was a supplier of all these vehicles. The paper’s aim is to specify the optimum lifetime of the firefighting vehicles by the analysis of firefighting vehicles’ economical operation. Theoretical calculations of the optimum lifetime have been processed with implementing both the method of exponential trends and the Brown method. The residual value of vehicles has been calculated both according to the current Czech tax law, and to the Expert Standard Valuation of motor vehicles in force in the Czech Republic.

Human resources (HR) is one of the key factors in economic reform, namely how to create quality human resources who have skills and highly competitive in global competition. Humans always develop actively and dominantly in every organization's activities, because humans become planners, actors, and determinants of the realization of organizational goals. This study aims to determine the effect of leadership and motivation on employee performance at the South Tangerang Fire and Rescue Service. The method used was explanatory research with a sample of 55 respondents. The analysis technique uses statistical analysis with regression testing, correlation, determination, and hypothesis testing. The results of this study leadership have a significant effect on employee performance by 48.9%, the hypothesis test obtained significance 0,000 <0.05. Motivation has a significant effect on employee performance by 34.8%, hypothesis testing obtained significance 0,000 <0.05. Simultaneous leadership and motivation significantly influence employee performance by 56.8%, hypothesis testing obtained significance 0,000 <0.05.

After more than a decade of meeting the designated objective of increasing productivity in agriculture, the South West coastal polders of Bangladesh have ended up as different man-made disasters. The failure of the polders to deliver the intended outcome is basically attributed to the lack of understanding of their hydro-morphological characteristics, inadequacy in their operation and maintenance, and failure to take into account their social relationship and culture roles. Changes in socioeconomic settings have also forced changes in the designated functions of the polders, but now the emerging context of climate change has become a major issue in rationalizing the coastal polders. In this context, this study is an attempt to review the historical and ongoing process of rationalization of the South West coastal polders, revealing that it is essential to take an integrated view of the hydrologic cycle and the interactions of human interventions. Finally, this paper recommends that an extended cost–benefit analysis with a multi-objective focus or a multi-criteria analysis, if monetizing is not possible, should be an option in rationalizing this multi-functional infrastructure. Proper macro-planning would require development of an institution capable of dealing with a task which is multi-dimensional and multi-disciplinary in nature.

AbstractLong-term cyclic variations in the distribution of prominences and intensities of green (530.3 nm) and red (637.4 nm) coronal emission lines over solar cycles 18–23 are presented. Polar prominence branches will reach the poles at different epochs in cycle 23: the north branch at the beginning in 2002 and the south branch a year later (2003), respectively. The local maxima of intensities in the green line show both poleward- and equatorward-migrating branches. The poleward branches will reach the poles around cycle maxima like prominences, while the equatorward branches show a duration of 18 years and will end in cycle minima (2007). The red corona shows mostly equatorward branches. The possibility that these branches begin to develop at high latitudes in the preceding cycles cannot be excluded.
