The article discusses the issues faced by the organizations management when trying to assess the adequacy of information support for management processes. Despite the fact that the functional areas in the organization are closely interconnected and operate in a single information field, there are some features regarding their information support. For example, with regard to innovation, this focuses on external sources of information. The authors propose a methodological method for assessing the effectiveness of information support of innovative activities, which can be useful in addition to the available methodological approaches.

Innovation determines expansion or just existence of enterprises. It’s an important element of competitive advantage and it is a characteristic that encourages customers to buy novelties. Unfortunately, with innovation activity closely related is uncertainty risk, that means insecurity that costly process of creating innovation solutions will succeed. By dint of necessity of high costs of innovation activity, only small percent of enterprises have their own research and development buck-up. More and more popular become external sources of information for innovative activity, such as: customers, research and development networks, conferences, scientist publications and journals. The paper presents sources of information used by polish enterprises in innovation activity, classify them and show its essence and importance. Main attention is put on sources, which according to modern theories of innovation and practice of innovative firms, are the most important, that means internal R&D activity and customers. An additional value of the paper is a discussion on the ways and the sense of measure the influence of chosen sources of information on the process of creation innovations in companies.

After a brief review of the scholarly discussion about the idea that context affects political behavior, this chapter proposes a model for the analysis of contextual effects on opinion formation and voting behavior. It highlights theoretical issues in the interplay of various contextual features and voter predispositions in bringing about contextual effects on voters. This model guides the analyses of contextual effects on voter behavior in Germany in the early twenty-first century. These analyses draw on rich data from multiple voter surveys and various sources of information about contextual features. The chapter also gives an overview of different methodological approaches and challenges in the analysis of contextual effects on voting behavior.

In the light of the growing number of crimes committed by convicted persons and persons in custody, the aspects of preventive impact on the processes that arise in the penitentiary system are taking a leading place. It is important to understand that employees of institutions and bodies of the penitentiary system make significant efforts to minimize criminal attacks. However, this activity is not always systematic and logically consistent. It seems that the problem lies in the theoretical basis of the fight against penitentiary crime, which has not yet fully developed. The purpose of the scientific article is to provide a theoretical understanding of the Institute for the prevention of penitentiary crimes, to understand the methods and measures of preventive action, and to determine the sources of information support. The author tried to define the boundaries of penitentiary crimes as accurately as possible, to show the difference in methods and measures of crime prevention in the penitentiary system. The article indicates the sources of information support, analyzing which is possible to understand very clearly what methods will be effective in identifying the causes and conditions that contribute to the Commission of penitentiary crimes, and what measures will contribute to the fight against crime of convicts and persons in custody.

There are companies that stand in Indonesia that are owned by foreigners. People tend to judge that the performance of foreign companies is better than domestic companies. This is due to the assumption that foreign companies have relatively larger capital, technology, and expertise that is better than domestic companies. Another presumption is that before, during, and after the crisis the performance of foreign-owned companies is better than domestic companies. In addition, to find out the good and bad performance of a company, it can use a stock capital ratio analysis. With this stock capital ratio, it can be seen the rate of return on equity, the ratio of earning per share, profit price, capitalization rate, and dividend income. So that the analysis can help investors and potential investors as sources of information support in investing in the company. The results of the data analysis using the T-test (Difference Test) found that there was no significant difference between the return on equity ratio, earnings per share ratio, the profit price ratio, the capitalization rate and dividend income. Thus the performance of domestic companies is significantly similar to the performance of foreign companies. Keywords: Earning per share, profit ratio, , capitalization ratio

Purpose. To characterize the methodological approaches that we develop in the formation of a system of information support for the creation and maintenance of the functioning of modern sustainable agricultural landscapes and to show the results of their implementation on the example of the territory of some agricultural enterprises of the Kharkiv region. Methods. Cartographic, geoinformation analysis, calculation, statistical and mathematical. Results. Some results of the work of the collective on the issues of information support for the creation and maintenance of the functioning of modern sustainable agricultural landscapes. Namely, verification of erosion models, studies of the functionality of shelter belts, the formation of an agroeconet (an extensive network of natural and quasi-natural landscapes) on agricultural land massifs, which ensures the maintenance of stable functioning of meso and macrolevel agrolandscapes, as well as the experience of using magnetic prospecting methods to verify the results of mathematical modeling of erosion processes. Conclusions. A number of methodological approaches to information support of the formation of sustainable agricultural landscapes in the natural and socio-economic conditions of Ukraine have been developed. They relate to the functioning of anti-erosion measures of permanent action, the processes of modern transformation of agro-landscapes, the ecological impact of erosion processes on the environment. The connection between the length of forest belts per unit of arable land and soil erosion is shown. A methodical approach has been developed to estimate the amount of soil washed away from arable land and to calculate the measures necessary to eliminate its harmful effects on the environment.

This paper shows that most small and medium sized exporters do not undertake international marketing research. Given this finding the research goes on to consider successful exporters. These firms do engage in such research and their activities are therefore explored in detail. The empirical work shows that the firms make much greater use of in-house rather than external sources of information. The research also shows that successful firms put much greater emphasis on the information required for long term strategic planning. In addition, evidence is presented to suggest that the extent to which information is collected as well as the sources used by these companies is at least partly determined by firm size.

This chapter discusses how information that supports innovation flows throughout an organization, the construction and effects of team composition, the innovative processes that teams employ, and the development, implementation, and evaluation of systems used to manage the flow and distribution of information. As Allen and Cohen (1969) point out, effective communicators rise in their organizations as a result of their willingness to engage information—by reading and conversing outside of their immediate settings, but as Tushman (1977) explains, that kind of outreach precipitates special boundary roles, which come about to satisfy an organization’s communication network’s role of bridging an internal information network to external sources of information. Thompson (1965) investigates the conditions necessary to move an organization from a single-minded focus on productivity to one of those that facilitate innovation. At times, that means engaging rival firms, and von Hippel (1987) demonstrates that information sharing is economically beneficial to the organizations doing the trading. Freeman’s (1991) finding that information regarding innovative processes entails the development of effective information networks confirms how important it is for successful innovation that there exist effective external and internal communication networks, and that individuals collaborate to share information. von Hippel (1994) returns later in the chapter to qualify this point by showing that there is a direct correlation between the level of stickiness and the expense related to moving that information to a location where it can be applied to solving a problem.
