This essay aims to find a correlation between the life example of the head of the household who acts also as a leader of the congregation and the growth of the Church. The author uses the statement in 1 Timothy 3:5 as the basic text, as well as the main inspiration for this description. The methodology used by the author in this research is a literature study. The author develops the topic of discussion by reviewing books, scientific articles, and other literature that discussed the same topic. Based on the analysis of the text of 1 Tim 3:5 the author emphasizes the importance of a church leader who is proven to be responsible for household affairs, namely being able to manage his own house and meet the needs of family members. The reputation of the Church in the development of the congregation will depend on the example of the church leader in managing his own household and his congregation.

The present work aims to present the ecclesiological dimension of baptism in Lumen Gentium, in view of an ecclesiology of communion. God in his magnificence creates all things in view of the salvation of the cosmos. To make this, he relies on the contribution of human action. From human freedom God wants to save by making them the sign and sacrament of salvation for other humans. Hence, he has constituted a people to be the light and presence of God inside of humanity. This same people constituted, as God's property, had been prepared to receive Jesus Christ to fulfill salvation, generating from within themselves the new people of God who is the Church. Thus, baptism constitutes the human being as a new creature regenerated in Christ, forming the new people of God, making him a child of God and a member of the Church. As the mission of God continues in the Church and in every baptized person, all the people of God have the privilege of helping in salvation. In this way, every baptized person has his radical equality in virtue of the dignity of baptism, where all are missionary disciples. Thus, as a people of God, the laity is an ecclesial subject and a missionary disciple because he is a baptized, participant in the divinity of Jesus Christ and the director of the kingdom and salvation of God in the world.

Ding Guangxun (K. H. Ting, 1915–2012) was heralded during his lifetime as the premier church statesman of the PRC era, a figure whose leadership of the authorized Protestant church and its national seminary spanned five decades and whose theological thought guided the church through much of that period. Ding’s theology is highly pragmatic in orientation, and his effect as a church leader was as important as his effect as a theologian. This chapter concentrates on the early writings of Ding Guangxun, from the 1940s and 1950s, to create a base understanding of his theological position in the first years of his ministry as comparator for later developments. The period encompassed intense debate on the relationship of church and state and includes Ding’s difficult debates with the staunchly separatist church leader Wang Mingdao—debate that precipitated the split of the Chinese Protestant church and whose ramifications are still ever-present.

The most recently published Directory for Catechesis addresses catechesis for the disabled within the totality of the Church’s pastoral ministry. The dignity of every person as a child of God, which is granted through the Sacrament of Baptism when a person is incorporated into the Body of Christ, is the basis for the Church’s pastoral care, which includes catechesis, of the disabled. The presence of the disabled within the ecclesial community and secular society is a gift, since such individuals enrich their environment and inspire others to perform good deeds. The disabled both receive and proclaim God’s word just as they also share in the priestly ministry of the faithful and participate in the liturgy. However, it is important for the Church to adjust how She ministers to the disabled in order to meet their personal needs and abilities and to adapt Her approach properly to apostolic activity, especially giving witness by living a Christian life.

The world is increasingly becoming more multilingual. South Africa has a long history of multilingualism. In the post-1994 South Africa, integrated organisations like churches where individual and organisational multilingualism are prevalent are growing. Previous and current studies of language use in integrated congregations indicate that multilingualism is a challenge to church leaders. In post-1994 integrated churches in South Africa where multilingualism is prevalent, congregations can foster innovative functional multilingual arrangements to benefit their ministry. However, evidence from research indicates that church leaders struggle to make functional multilingual arrangements and often monolingual English services are offered instead. The multilingual abilities and willingness of church leaders to foster functional multilingual arrangements for their churches is a core factor in this matter. The ability of church leaders to foster effective communication in a linguistically complex setting is important in the general interest of successful evangelisation. In this article, a case study approach is used to explore the latent potential present in the multilingual repertoire of a church leader to foster a functionally multilingual context in his congregation. The multilingual repertoire of a church leader is described and related to his perceptions of its usefulness to ministry as a profession. Descriptions of this nature are important in a context where the abilities and willingness of ministers to foster multilingual congregations have been acknowledged as core factors that determine the success of implementation. Improving the understanding of the nature of the multilingual repertoires of ministers would enable educators of ministers to as certain how these resources could be activated to enhance ministry in the post-1994 South Africa. The main findings from this case study are that the multilingual repertoire of this church leader is unique because of its scope and the exceptional abilities of this church leader in Southern Sotho; and the church leader displays enhanced levels of metalinguistic awareness. Based on the perceptions of the participant, the multilingual abilities of this church leader is related to his ministry in specific ways, viz. it is part of his general calling to become a church leader; it is part of his additional calling to be a bridge-builder between white and black people in his community; it enables him to craft a specific personal communication strategy where he uses his Southern Sotho abilities to start conversations with all people, that provide an entrance point for him to begin relationships, so that he could invite them into his ministry; and it is a valuable resource that enables him to minister effectively. From the description of this exceptional case study, it is possible to begin to consider the implications of the multilingual needs of a multilingual world for ministry in integrated churches in South Africa. The findings are useful because they provide a starting point for there consideration and exploration of implications for theological education and language policy matters in the domain of the church today.'n Meertalige kerkleier vir ’n meertalige wêreld: ’n Gevallestudie.

The purpose of the Bible itself is to enable human to understand God and His will. Therefore, it is vital to be translated to languages so that individuals can read and understand His Word. However, the translation of the Bible to other languages often meets difficulties due to differences in diction between the source language and the target languages. Besides, one word in a language may have different senses which are related and dynamic. The goal of this research is to find the appropriate translation of the word gunh in Paul’s letter, specifically 1 Chorintian 14:34-35 and 1 Timothy 2:11-12 and to find the position of women’s leadership in the church. The research is carried out using descriptive-qualitative method focusing in elaborating the diction found in different translations of the Bible, such as Greek, English and Bahasa Indonesia. The finding shows that the translation of the word gunh  in Lembaga Alkitab Indonesia (LAI) is not accurate. Instead of translating the word gunh  to wife, the institution translate the word into women in general. The recommend that LAI edit the translation of the Bible and that the church leader allow women to be leader in the congregation.

The theology of communication suggests looking at man as a being called to communion in general and to communion with God in particular, in God he sees the first Community of Communion, each Hypostasis of the Trinity exists exclusively in a relationship of mutual gift of existence. It has been studied that the church for the theology of communication must be a reflection of the Trinity, be the communication of the individual with God and with other people, the hierarchy only serves such communication, but cannot replace it. Human society must be a space for interpersonal communication, a community or a set of communities. It turns out that the social doctrine of the Ecumenical Patriarchate is consistent with the Christian realism of Richard Niebuhr, according to which all forms of government are far from the gospel ideal, but this does not prevent to distinguish relative evil from absolute evil.
