The new species Reineckea flava J. Z. Dong (Liliaceae) is described and illustrated from Guangxi, China. It differs from R. carnea (Andrews) Kunth in having slanting rhizomes with short oblate internodes (shorter axis 4–6 mm × longer axis 8–14 mm), with thick and short adventitious roots at nodes, narrowly lanceolate leaves (5–10 mm broad), and yellow-orange fruits.

Laevifaciesquadrialatagen. et sp. nov. is described from Hainan Province, China based on morphological data. COI data (DNA barcodes) is utilized to confirm the sexual dimorphism occurring in Laevifaciesquadrialatagen. et sp. nov.Melanozosterianitida Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1865, is reported from Guangxi Province, China. A key to the Chinese Polyzosteriinae is provided.

Ranunculus shanyangensis M.R. Luo & L. Zhao, a new species of Ranunculaceae from Shaanxi, China, is described and illustrated. Ranunculus shanyangensis is morphologically similar to R. repens, however, it differs from the latter due to the following characters: longer adventitious roots, wholly creeping stems with no branches, longer rachis, fewer floral organs and pollen wall sculpturing. Mucuna guangxiensis sp. nov. (Fabaceae), a woody liana species bearing pods up to 70 cm long, which is only known from Guangxi Province in China, is described and illustrated here. The new species is similar to Mucuna macrocarpa but differs from it by totally yellowish or greenish white corolla and more densely sericeous hairs on the abaxial surface; and also to Mucuna birdwoodiana but differs from it by the thinly papyraceous leaves, the dense indumentum on the abaxial surface of leaflets, and the longer legumes without paired robust wings at both margin. This new species should be a new member of Mucuna subg. Macrocarpa according to its long ovary, numerous seeds per legume and linear and long legumes with woody epicarp, and a detailed key of the subgenus is provided in this article.

Brachycephalus is a frog genus endemic to the Brazilian Atlantic Forest and characterized by the bright yellow-orange aposematic colors and the high degree of miniaturization. Herein, we describe a new species of Brachycephalus from Serra do Brigadeiro, Municipality of Ervália, Minas Gerais State, southeastern Brazil. Specimens were collected at high altitudes (i.e., 1266–1498 m above sea level) amidst the leaf litter. The new species is characterized by the presence of black connective tissue covering all dorsal muscles, body completely yellow-orange in life, presence of skull and post-cranial plates, large size (SVL of adults: 14.8–18.5 mm), bufoniform body, absence of metacarpal and metatarsal tubercles, and presence of harmonics in its advertisement call.

Due to its special ways of hiding and lifestyle, Thelcticopis is a type of spider that is very difficult to collect. In 2018, we collected two huntsman spiders in Guangxi. After comparison with other Thelcticopis species, such as anterior median eye larger than other eyes, they were found to belong to the genus of Thelcticopis. Currently, four Thelcticopis species are reported from China, T. severa (L. Koch, 1875), T. zhengi Liu, Li & Jäger, 2010, T. dahanensis Zhu & Zhong, 2020 and T. unciformis Zhu & Zhong, 2020. They are mainly distributed in the tropical or subtropical areas of China (Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Hongkong, Hunan, Taiwan, Yunnan and Zhejiang). In this paper, we diagnose and describe a new species, Thelcticopis pinmini sp. nov., which was collected from Guangxi Province, China.

A new species of the Dianous calceatus complex from China is described: Dianous pengi Wang, Tang &  Luo sp. n. from Guangxi Province. New distributional records are reported for Dianous calvicollis Puthz, 2016, Dianous luteostigmaticus Rougemont, 1986 and Dianous huanghaoi Tang & Li, 2011. Diagnostic characters for all the species are illustrated.

A new rare species of deepwater Branchiostegus is described from two specimens collected from Bayangas, Laiya, Philippines(130 38.5’ N, 1210 25.6’ E). A total of four specimens were caught by hook and line in 2009 and 2011 between 210–220 m overa rocky-sand bottom, only two were preserved. The species may also be endemic to the Philippines and inhabit burrows as dothe other known species of this genus. The combination of the following characters distinguish the new species from its conge-ners: prominent dark predorsal ridge bordered by bright yellow-orange background (only B. semifasciatus from West Africahas a more prominent and dark predorsal ridge, but the ridge has no underlying orange-yellow colour), a great body depth (28–29% SL; other species of Branchiostegus, usually 27% SL) longer head length (30–31% SL; other species of Branchiostegus,usually 28%), greater head depth (26–27% SL; other species of Branchiostegus, usually 26% SL); long pre-dorsal length (35%SL; other species of Branchiostegus, usually 32% SL), and distinctive body, head and caudal fin colouration; skin over dorsal tips of branchiostegals characteristically bright yellow. A brief discussion of the status of tilefish systematics is included.

A new species of Cortinarius sect. Calochroi, C. lentus, is described on the basis of morphological and genetic features. It is characterised by a yellow-orange to brown-orange pileus, initially violaceous pink lamellae, a cream to pale yellow universal veil, amygdaliform to almost citriform spores, coarsely verrucose, typically narrow (Qav = 1.9) and habitat preference for chestnut woods on acidophilic soil. It is compared with the closest species from a morphological point of view, in particular with C. leochrous and C. calochrous. In order to assess its relative position within Calochroi, a phylogenetic approach based on RPB1 and ITS regions was performed. The ITS phylogenetic analysis did not resolve the position of C. lentus within sect Calochroi, but in our RPB1 phylogenetic analysis, C. sublilacinopes is closely related.

The termitophilous genus Cycloxenus Arrow (Coleoptera, Euxestidae) is reported from mainland China for the first time. A new species, Cycloxenus guangxiensis sp. nov., is described from Guangxi Province, China. The new species lives in nests of a fungus-growing termite (Odontotermes sp.) where it can be collected in the fungus gardens of the termite colony. The new species is compared with its congeners and new biological information for the genus Cycloxenus is provided. An identification key to all known Cycloxenus species is also provided.
