Single-subject research has historically had an important position in the areas of research and practice evaluation. With the current trend toward evidence-based practice, the emphasis in this chapter is on the demand for and reliance on this practice-based, evidence-building research design to increase in the future. SSD for R is a software package available to help researchers and practitioners analyze single-subject research data. This chapter describes the historical, current, and future uses of single-subject research and the contributions of these designs to both visual and statistical analysis. A brief review of software packages to handle this type of analysis is included in this chapter. Finally, an overview of the functionality of SSD for R is provided.

Kata Kunci: aplikasi pembelajaran, bagian tubuh pribadi, siswa autisAbstract: Autistic children of puberty age must have sexual education in order to avoid sexual harassment. This study aims to determine the use of learning media in the form of Application SEXO towards understanding the concept of automatic users in students. This type of research uses Single Subject Research (SSR) or research with a single subject. The design is A-B-A '. The subjects of this research are children with autism grade V SD which is 12 years in Special School Autism Bina Anggita. Methods of research data using written tests. Data analysis techniques are also called in conditions and analysis between conditions. The results showed that the SEXO media Application effective against the understanding of existing concepts is reversed with the increase of performance Scores of some parts. This is done because the media SEXO App is a visual learning application tailored to the type of autism learning as a visual learner. Keywords: learning application, body part concept, autistic student.

PurposeThe purpose of this study was to document, validate, and corroborate effect size (ES) for single-subject design in treatment of children with functional phonological disorders; to evaluate potential child-specific contributing variables relative to ES; and to establish benchmarks for interpretation of ES for the population.MethodData were extracted from the Developmental Phonologies Archive for 135 preschool children with phonological disorders who previously participated in single-subject experimental treatment studies. Standard mean differenceall with correction for continuitywas computed to gauge the magnitude of generalization gain that accrued longitudinally from treatment for each child with the data aggregated for purposes of statistical analyses.ResultsES ranged from 0.09 to 27.83 for the study population. ES was positively correlated with conventional measures of phonological learning and visual inspection of learning data on the basis of procedures standard to single-subject design. ES was linked to children's performance on diagnostic assessments of phonology but not other demographic characteristics or related linguistic skills and nonlinguistic skills. Benchmarks for interpretation of ES were estimated as 1.4, 3.6, and 10.1 for small, medium, and large learning effects, respectively.ConclusionFindings have utility for single-subject research and translation of research to evidence-based practice for children with phonological disorders.

Parkinson’s disease affects millions of individuals worldwide. The physical symptoms of PD are devastating. In the same sense, the cognitive symptoms of PD also have a profound effect on afflicted individuals. This study examined the cognitive impairments of Parkinson’s disease and how they can be treated using art therapy. The author of this study met with one individual who suffered from cognitive impairment due to Parkinson’s disease. The two met for eight sessions over a six-week period. During this time, an A-B-A single-subject research design was established, with multiple baselines. Over the course of six weeks, the participant partook in various art therapy directives. The results of this study indicated that art therapy helped decrease the participant’s level of depression and helped maintain the participant’s current level of dementia, partially supporting this research study’s hypothesis. The results of this study underscore the need for further research in this area.
