Various wide-area Internet of Things services have been deployed. In most of these IoT services, a significant number of tiny data blocks are transferred across wide-area networks. Therefore, the transfer mechanisms should be simplified. One promising candidate for use as a transfer mechanism is MQ Telemetry Transport (MQTT). In this paper, an architecture for a distributed MQTT broker, referred to as a virtual ring approach, is proposed. This architecture complies with the IoT Data Exchange Platform, as discussed in ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 41. The operations of this distributed broker architecture using a virtual ring network for real-time communication is also described, along with the superiority of the architecture based on a performance analysis using queuing models

In next-generation Internet of Things (IoT) deployments, every object such as a wearable device, a smartphone, a vehicle, and even a sensor or an actuator will be provided with a digital counterpart (twin) with the aim of augmenting the physical object’s capabilities and acting on its behalf when interacting with third parties. Moreover, such objects can be able to interact and autonomously establish social relationships according to the Social Internet of Things (SIoT) paradigm. In such a context, the goal of this work is to provide an optimal solution for the social-aware placement of IoT digital twins (DTs) at the network edge, with the twofold aim of reducing the latency (i) between physical devices and corresponding DTs for efficient data exchange, and (ii) among DTs of friend devices to speed-up the service discovery and chaining procedures across the SIoT network. To this aim, we formulate the problem as a mixed-integer linear programming model taking into account limited computing resources in the edge cloud and social relationships among IoT devices.

The data exchange platform aims to provide an integrated, standardized and standard-complying data exchange framework for the business systems inside and outside the enterprises and solve the “information island” problem caused by differences among the application system, database, data definition and running environment. This paper designs a cross-platform, cross-system, secure and reliable data exchange platform, proposes a method for data conversion standard and implementation of isomerous data transform method and function of the integration and conversion of the isomerous data in enterprises and implements a prototype system. This data conversion technology features high efficiency, standardization, high security, openness and scalability.

This paper points out the flaws of the CIMS, and states that synergetic manufacturing method that is based on Synergetics theory, is able to overcome the majority of the flaws in CIMS. It describes a new method model of synergetic manufacturing, which divides the enterprises into three types: Design, Manufacturing and Auxiliary, they are connected via the data exchange platform that is established with the aid of internet. This new manufecturing model breaks through the limits, that traditional manufecturing industry has, among the enterprises societies and countries to realize the matter and information flows extending over country bounds in the global production chain. The paper further discusses the topics of quality chain management process and the reliability of the database that synergetic manufacturing will be using. Thus it improves the agility and competitiveness of the enterprises sharply.
