A new method for generalizing the Lindley distribution, by increasing the number of mixed models is presented formally. This generalized model, which is called the generalized Lindley of integer order, encompasses the exponential and the usual Lindley distributions as special cases when the order of the model is fixed to be one and two, respectively. The moments, the variance, the moment generating function, and the failure rate function of the initiated model are extracted. Estimation of the underlying parameters by the moment and the maximum likelihood methods are acquired. The maximum likelihood estimation for the right censored data has also been discussed. In a simulation running for various orders and censoring rates, efficiency of the maximum likelihood estimator has been explored. The introduced model has ultimately been fitted to two real data sets to emphasize its application.

In this article, a new four-parameter model is introduced which can be used in mod- eling survival data and fatigue life studies. Its failure rate function can be increasing, decreasing, upside down and bathtub-shaped depending on its parameters. We derive explicit expressions for some of its statistical and mathematical quantities. Some useful characterizations are presented. Maximum likelihood method is used to estimate the model parameters. The censored maximum likelihood estimation is presented in the general case of the multi-censored data. We demonstrate empirically the importance and exibility of the new model in modeling a real data set.

This paper presents a three-parameter family of distributions which includes the common exponential and the Marshall–Olkin exponential as special cases. This distribution exhibits a monotone failure rate function, which makes it appealing for practitioners interested in reliability, and means it can be included in the catalogue of appropriate non-symmetric distributions to model these issues, such as the gamma and Weibull three-parameter families. Given the lack of symmetry of this kind of distribution, various statistical and reliability properties of this model are examined. Numerical examples based on real data reflect the suitable behaviour of this distribution for modelling purposes.

A new three-parameter generalized distribution, namely, half-logistic generalized Weibull (HLGW) distribution, is proposed. The proposed distribution exhibits increasing, decreasing, bathtub-shaped, unimodal, and decreasing-increasing-decreasing hazard rates. The distribution is a compound distribution of type I half-logistic-G and Dimitrakopoulou distribution. The new model includes half-logistic Weibull distribution, half-logistic exponential distribution, and half-logistic Nadarajah-Haghighi distribution as submodels. Some distributional properties of the new model are investigated which include the density function shapes and the failure rate function, raw moments, moment generating function, order statistics, L-moments, and quantile function. The parameters involved in the model are estimated using the method of maximum likelihood estimation. The asymptotic distribution of the estimators is also investigated via Fisher’s information matrix. The likelihood ratio (LR) test is used to compare the HLGW distribution with its submodels. Some applications of the proposed distribution using real data sets are included to examine the usefulness of the distribution.

In this paper, we introduce a new family of continuous distributions called the beta transmuted Dagum distribution which extends the beta and transmuted familys. The genesis of the beta distribution and transmuted map is used to develop the so-called beta transmuted Dagum (BTD) distribution. The hazard function, moments, moment generating function, quantiles and stress-strength of the beta transmuted Dagum distribution (BTD) are provided and discussed in detail. The method of maximum likelihood estimation is used for estimating the model parameters. A simulation study is carried out to show the performance of the maximum likelihood estimate of parameters of the new distribution. The usefulness of the new model is illustrated through an application to a real data set.

We introduce a four-parameter lifetime model with flexible hazard rate called the Burr XII gamma (BXIIG) distribution.  We derive the BXIIG distribution from (i) the T-X family technique and (ii) nexus between the exponential and gamma variables. The failure rate function for the BXIIG distribution is flexible as it can accommodate various shapes such as increasing, decreasing, decreasing-increasing, increasing-decreasing-increasing, bathtub and modified bathtub.  Its density function can take shapes such as exponential, J, reverse-J, left-skewed, right-skewed and symmetrical. To illustrate the importance of the BXIIG distribution, we establish various mathematical properties such as random number generator, ordinary moments, generating function, conditional moments, density functions of record values, reliability measures and characterizations.  We address the maximum likelihood estimation for the parameters. We estimate the adequacy of the estimators via a simulation study. We consider applications to two real data sets to prove empirically the potentiality of the proposed model.

A new scale-invariant extension of the Lindley distribution and its power generalization has been introduced. The moments and the moment-generating functions of the proposed models have closed forms. The failure rate, the mean residual life, and the α -quantile residual life functions have been explored. The failure rate function of these models accommodates increasing, bathtub-shaped, and increasing then bathtub-shaped forms. The parameters of the models have been estimated by the maximum likelihood method for the complete and right-censored data. In a simulation study, the efficiency and consistency of the maximum likelihood estimator have been investigated. Then, the proposed models were fitted to four data sets to show their flexibility and applicability.

We introduce a new class of lifetime models called the transmuted powered moment exponential distribution. More specifically, the transmuted powered moment exponential distribution covers several new distributions. Survival analysis including survival function, hazard rate function and other related measures are computed. Analytical expressions for various mathematical properties of TPMED including rth moment, quantile function, inequality measures, and parameters are estimated by using maximum likelihood estimation and order statistics are also derived. A simulation study of the proposed distribution is performed. It is discovered that the Maximum Likelihood Estimators are consistent since the bias and Mean Square Error approach to zero when the sample size increases. The usefulness of the model associated with this distribution is illustrated by two real data sets and the new model provides a better fit than the models provided in literature.

In this article, the Topp-Leone odd log-logistic Gumbel (TLOLL-Gumbel) family of distribution have beenstudied. This family, contains the very flexible skewed density function. We study many aspects of the new model like hazard rate function, asymptotics, useful expansions, moments, generating Function, R´enyi entropy and order statistics. We discuss maximum likelihood estimation of the model parameters. Further, we study flexibility of the proposed family are illustrated of two real data sets.

n this paper, we propose a new distribution, namely alpha-beta-skew generalized tdistribution. The proposed distribution is really flxible and includes as special models some important distributions like Normal, t-student, Cauchy and etc as its marginal component distributions. It features a probability density function with up to three modes. The moment generating function as well as the main moments are provided. Inference is based on a usual maximum-likelihood estimation approach and a small Monte Carlo simulation is conducted for studying the asymptotic properties of the maximum-likelihood estimate. The usefulness of the new model is illustrated in a real data

<p>This paper is concerned with the estimators problems of the generalized Weibull distribution based on Type-I hybrid progressive censoring scheme (Type-I PHCS) in the presence of competing risks when the cause of failure of each item is known. Maximum likelihood estimates and the corresponding Fisher information matrix are obtained. We generalized Kundu and Joarder [7] results in the case of the exponential distribution while, the corresponding results in the case of the generalized exponential and Weibull distributions may be obtained as a special cases. A real data set is used to illustrate the theoretical results.</p>
