In this study, the resultant forces and moments acting on infinite symmetric FGPs with a triangular hole subject to uniaxial tensile load were examined via an analytical method using the complex variable approach. The mechanical properties of graded plates are hypothesized to vary throughout the thickness exponentially. The impact of various factors, namely hole orientation, hole aspect ratio as well as the hole corner curve on stress distribution and moment resultants is considered. In order to approve the credibility of the analytical approach, its outcomes are compared to numerical results acquired from ABAQUS finite element modeling. This comparison showed a favorable agreement level among the acquired analytical and numerical outcomes. Based on these results, the mentioned factors entail a considerable effect on the distribution of resultant forces and moments at the proximity of the hole and the load bearing tolerance of functional grated plates with holes may be enhanced by suitable selection of the aforementioned parameters.

Studying the historical facts of past wars and armed conflicts and natural and man-made emergencies, today in the Republic of Kazakhstan one of the most important security issues is the preparation and organization of the evacuation of the population from possible dangerous zones, taking into account the emergence of new threats to the country’s security. The paper presents an algorithm for constructing universal scales of the distribution function of opportunities by types of support and rebuilding them into subject scales using display functions. The purpose of the paper is to determine the integral indicators characterizing the possibility of accommodation of the evacuated population and the impact on resources during relocation. On the subject scales of cities and districts of the region, indicators of the possibility of relocation of a certain amount of the evacuated population by types of support and indicators characterizing the impact on the district’s resources during resettlement of a certain amount of the evacuated population are determined. It was concluded that the use of integrated indicators allows the selection of areas to accommodate the evacuated population without the use of statistical data, in conditions of incomplete and inaccurate information. The presented method does not replace traditional methods based on classical methods of territory assessment by the level of life sustenance, but also allows their reasonable combination with the experience of specialists in this field, taking into account the incompleteness, uncertainty, and inconsistency of the initial data of the study area, which does not allow the application of existing methods.

Multiple scientific works are dedicated to studying the impact of linguistic factors upon the translation process. However, relevant remains the task of determining dependence of the translation strategy on the peculiarities of semantic development and functionality of terminological units. This article examines the functional-semantic aspects of translation of the adjective-substantive terminological phrases of English language that reflects the scientific notions of psychology. An attempt is made to develop the methods for translating terminological phrases that would consider syntagmatic aspects of interaction of the meanings of its components. Attention is focused on determination of the impact of peculiarities of terminological meaning of terminological phrase upon the choice of its conveying in translation. A conclusion is made that the translation process of terminological phrases from English to Russian are influenced by such factors, as the level of semantic closeness of terminological phrases and communicative significance of its adjective component. In conclusion, the author discusses strategies of selection of the way of translation of terminological phrases, taking into account the aforementioned factors.

Cellular development of the adductor femoris muscle from twin and single fetuses was studied at 140 days gestation to evaluate the effect of moderate fetal growth retardation on myofibre development. Twin fetuses had lower bodyweights (13%) and disproportionately small adductor femoris muscle weights (22%) compared with single fetuses. Reduced muscle mass was associated with smaller myofibre cross-sectional areas (CSA) and lower DNA content (22%), indicative of fewer myonuclei and retarded myofibre hypertrophy. Myofibre number and the phenotypic maturation of the myofibres were similar between twins and singletons. These results indicate that even modest growth restriction during fetal life can negatively influence myofibre hypertrophy, highlighting the importance of fetal nutrition for muscle growth. Large muscles, such as the adductor femoris, have intrafascicularly terminating myofibres, which necessitates accurate sampling of the muscle when investigating possible perturbations in morphological characteristics (e.g. between singletons and twins). The second objective of the present study was to investigate the impact of the sampling site on the morphological parameters of the adductor femoris muscle. The apparent total myofibre number decreased from the proximal to the distal region of the adductor femoris muscle. The apparent number of slow-twitch fibres also decreased from the proximal to the medial region, but was not different between the medial and distal regions of the muscle. Similarly, myofibre CSA differed between the medial and distal regions. These results indicate that, particularly with large muscles, such as the adductor femoris, which has intrafascicularly terminating myofibres, single site sampling for the determination of morphological fibre characteristics may generate misleading results and that careful selection of the sampling area may be necessary.

The current determination of stagnant rate cannot eliminate the dynamic effects, especially the change rate of speed. Consider the problem of the current determination of stagnant rate, this work presents one determination method based on adaptive chatter algorithm .Simulation shows it can eliminate the impact of dynamics effectively. The method achieves the measurement online due to the signal of chatter can adapt to the dead zone of servo system. At last, the selection of the signal frequency is discussed.

SEO100c, an EO-polymer, has been reported of having an r33 in excess of 100 pm/V. Experimental poling research was performed on rib waveguide modulator for device design and development. Reported is the determination of the impact that temperature and voltage have on the poling of a SEO100c waveguide device in order to maximize the r33 while avoiding damage to the device structure ensuring high yield in manufacture. The poling process is shown to have a nonlinear relationship between r33 and poling field aiding in the selection of achievable poling voltages for required r33 values. Device thermal stability is quantified and reported for the complete poling process and the impacts upon r33. Investigation into the possible relaxation of device r33 is measured over an extended period demonstrating desirable use within deployable devices.

AbstractWithin the INMOP 3 research project, an attempt was made to solve a number of problems associated with the methodology of modelling travel in urban areas and the application of intermodal models. One of these is the ability to describe the behaviour of transport system users, when it comes to making decisions regarding the selection of means of transport and searching for relationships between travel describing factors and the decisions made in regard of means of transport choice. The paper describes a probabilistic approach to the determination of modal split, and the application of a logistic regression model to determine the impact of variables describing individual and mass transport travels on the probability of selecting specific means of transport. Travels in local model of Warsaw city divided into 9 motivation groups were tested, for which ultimately 8 models were developed, out of which 7 were deemed very well fitted (obtained pseudo R2 was well above 0.2).

The assessment of the impact of per unit length parameter errors on the determination of wave parameters, currents, and voltages at the end of the line has been presented in the paper. The impact on the above-mentioned values has been indicated. This paper presents an assessment of the impact of per unit parameter errors on the determination of both wave parameters, as well as currents and voltages at the end of a transmission line, although it is mainly focused on indicating which of the per unit parameters have the strongest impact on the above-mentioned values. For this purpose, elements of incremental sensitivity have been used.

Abstract Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is the only curative therapeutic modality for myelofibrosis (MF) at present. The optimal timing of HCT is not known in the presence of wider availability of less risky nontransplant therapies such as JAK 1/2 inhibitors. Careful review of patient, disease, and transplant-related factors is required in the appropriate selection of HCT vs the best available nontransplant therapies. We highlight some of the relevant issues and positioning of HCT in light of evolving data on JAK 1/2 inhibitors. The goal of this study is to provide the reader with updated evidence of HCT for MF, recognizing that knowledge in this area is limited by the absence of comparative studies between HCT and nontransplant therapies. Prospective studies are needed for better information on: the determination of optimal timing and conditioning regimens, the best way to integrate JAK inhibitors in the HCT protocols, and the impact of JAK inhibitors on graft-versus-host disease.

In this paper, using an analytic technique based on complex variable method, the stress resultants and moments in infinite functionally graded plates with rectangular cutout under uniaxial tensile load are investigated. The mechanical properties of the functionally graded plate are assumed to change exponentially. The effect of different parameters such as cutout orientation, aspect ratio of the cutout, and cutout corner curvature on the distribution of stress resultants and moments is investigated. To verify the accuracy of the presented analytical method, its results are compared with the numerical results obtained from finite element modeling in ABAQUS. The comparisons demonstrate a good level of agreement between the obtained numerical and analytical results. According to the results, the above parameters have a significant impact on the distribution of stress resultants and moments around the cutout, and the load-bearing capacity of the functionally graded plates with cutouts can be improved by careful selection of these parameters.

Capacitance per unit length and related wave resistance refer to the main characteristics of a number of cable products, such as communication cables, control cables or radio-frequency cables. The capacitance per unit length value is regulated by the standards for appropriate types of cables. This study describes the technical implementation of the electrical method of measuring of the capacitance per unit length of the electric cable directly on the production line. It is shown that the change in specific electrical conductivity of water, which a capacitance transducer is dipped into, has a significant impact on the outcome of in-process control of cable capacitance per unit length. A method of offset from the impact of this measurement on the control results is suggested.
