In real life, human opinion cannot be limited to yes or no situations as shown in an ordinary fuzzy sets and intuitionistic fuzzy sets but it may be yes, abstain, no, and refusal as treated in Picture fuzzy sets or in Spherical fuzzy (SF) sets. In this article, we developed a comprehensive model to tackle decision-making problems, where strong points of view are in the favour; neutral; and against some projects, entities, or plans. Therefore, a new approach of covering-based spherical fuzzy rough set (CSFRS) models by means of spherical fuzzy β -neighborhoods (SF β -neighborhoods) is adopted to hybrid spherical fuzzy sets with notions of covering the rough set. Then, by using the principle of TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution) to present the spherical fuzzy, the TOPSIS approach is presented through CSFRS models by means of SF β -neighborhoods. Via the SF-TOPSIS methodology, a multi-attribute decision-making problem is developed in an SF environment. This model has stronger capabilities than intuitionistic fuzzy sets and picture fuzzy sets to manage the vague and uncertainty. Finally, the proposed method is demonstrated through an example of how the proposed method helps us in decision-making problems.

This chapter begins with a brief introduction of the theory of rough set. Rough set is an intelligent technique for handling uncertainty aspect in the data. This theory has been hybridized by combining with many other mathematical theories. In recent years, much decision making on rough set theory has been extended by embedding the ideas of fuzzy sets, intuitionistic fuzzy sets and soft sets. In this chapter, the notions of fuzzy rough set and intuitionistic fuzzy rough (IFR) sets are defined, and its properties are studied. Thereafter rough set on two universal sets has been studied. In addition, intuitionistic fuzzy rough set on two universal sets has been extensively studied. Furthermore, we would like to give an application, which shows that intuitionistic fuzzy rough set on two universal sets can be successfully applied to decision making problems.

T-spherical fuzzy set is a recently developed model that copes with imprecise and uncertain events of real-life with the help of four functions having no restrictions. This article’s aim is to define some improved algebraic operations for T-SFSs known as Einstein sum, Einstein product and Einstein scalar multiplication based on Einstein t-norms and t-conorms. Then some geometric and averaging aggregation operators have been established based on defined Einstein operations. The validity of the defined aggregation operators has been investigated thoroughly. The multi-attribute decision-making method is described in the environment of T-SFSs and is supported by a comprehensive numerical example using the proposed Einstein aggregation tools. As consequences of the defined aggregation operators, the same concept of Einstein aggregation operators has been proposed for q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets, spherical fuzzy sets, Pythagorean fuzzy sets, picture fuzzy sets, and intuitionistic fuzzy sets. To signify the importance of proposed operators, a comparative analysis of proposed and existing studies is developed, and the results are analyzed numerically. The advantages of the proposed study are demonstrated numerically over the existing literature with the help of examples.

Similarity measures, distance measures and entropy measures are some common tools considered to be applied to some interesting real-life phenomena including pattern recognition, decision making, medical diagnosis and clustering. Further, interval-valued picture fuzzy sets (IVPFSs) are effective and useful to describe the fuzzy information. Therefore, this manuscript aims to develop some similarity measures for IVPFSs due to the significance of describing the membership grades of picture fuzzy set in terms of intervals. Several types cosine similarity measures, cotangent similarity measures, set-theoretic and grey similarity measures, four types of dice similarity measures and generalized dice similarity measures are developed. All the developed similarity measures are validated, and their properties are demonstrated. Two well-known problems, including mineral field recognition problems and multi-attribute decision making problems, are solved using the newly developed similarity measures. The superiorities of developed similarity measures over the similarity measures of picture fuzzy sets, interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets and intuitionistic fuzzy sets are demonstrated through a comparison and numerical examples.

The soft set theory, originally proposed by Molodtsov, can be used as a general mathematical tool for dealing with uncertainty. In this paper, we present concepts of soft rough intuitionistic fuzzy sets and intuitionistic fuzzy soft rough sets, and investigate some properties of soft rough intuitionistic fuzzy sets and intuitionistic fuzzy soft rough sets in detail. Furthermore, classical representations of intuitionistic fuzzy soft rough approximation operators are presented. Finally, we develop an approach to intuitionistic fuzzy soft rough sets based on decision making and a numerical example is provided to illustrate the developed approach.

This electronic document is a “live” template. The various components of your paper [title, text, heads, etc.] are already defined on the style sheet, as illustrated by the portions given in this document. Due to the nature of vagueness inherent to real-life situations, some fuzzy data are deemed to suitable enough to describe the qualitative and/or quantitative estimation for decision making problems. Therefore, a new method for multiple attribute decision making under fuzzy environment is discussed, in which the attribute values take the form of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. To overcome some disadvantages of existing distance measures like indiscrimination, counterintuitive results and difficulty of interpretation, we introduce a new class of distance for describing the deviation degrees between intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Furthermore, the measure of similarity degree for each alternative to ideal point is calculated through using the new proposed fuzzy distance. A model of TOPSIS is designed with the introduction of the particular closeness coefficient composed of similarity degrees. Then, we extend the TOPSIS method to aggregate the fuzzy information corresponding to each alternative, and rank the alternatives according to their closeness coefficients. Finally, an illustrative example is given to demonstrate the proposed approach practicality and effectiveness.

Linguistic intuitionistic fuzzy sets can qualitatively rather than quantitatively express data in the form of membership degree. But quantitative tools are required to handle qualitative information. Therefore, an improved linguistic scale function, which can more accurately manifest the subjective feelings of decision-makers, is employed to deal with linguistic intuitionistic information. Subsequently, due to some commonly used distance measures do not comprehensively evaluate the information of linguistic intuitionistic fuzzy sets, an improved distance measure of linguistic intuitionistic fuzzy sets is designed. It considers the cross-evaluation information to get more realistic reasoning results. In addition, a new similarity measure defined by nonlinear Gaussian diffusion model is proposed, which can provide different response scales for different information between various schemes. The properties of these measures are also studied in detail. On this basis, a method in linguistic intuitionistic fuzzy environment is developed to handle multi-attribute decision-making problems. Finally, an illustrative example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and the influence of the parameters is analyzed.

Recently, much attention has been given to the rough set models based on two universes. And many rough set models based on two universes have been developed from different points of view. In this paper, a novel model, that is, rough Atanassov’s intuitionistic fuzzy sets model over two different universes, is firstly proposed from Atanassov’s intuitionistic point of view. We study some important properties of approximation operators and investigate the rough degree in the novel model. Furthermore, an illustrated example is employed to demonstrate the conceptual arguments of the model. Finally, rough Atanassov’s intuitionistic fuzzy sets approach to decision is presented in the generalized approximation space over two universes by considering the problem about how to arrange patients to see the doctor reasonably, from which it can be found that the method is valuable and useful in real life.

In areas of medical diagnosis and decision-making, several uncertainty and ambiguity shrouded situations are most often imposed. In this regard, one may well assume that intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFS) should stand as a potent technique useful for demystifying associated with the real healthcare decision-making situations. To this end, we are developing a prototype model helpful for detecting the patients risk degree in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Based on the intuitionistic fuzzy sets, dubbed Medical Intuitionistic Fuzzy Expert Decision Support System (MIFEDSS), the shown work has its origins in the Modified Early Warning Score (MEWS) standard. It is worth noting that the proposed prototype effectiveness validation is associated through a real case study test at the Polyclinic ESSALEMA cited in Sfax, Tunisia. This paper does actually provide some practical initial results concerning the system as carried out in real life situations. Indeed, the proposed system turns out to prove that the MIFEDSS does actually display an imposing capability for an established handily ICU related uncertainty issues. The performance of the prototypes is compared with the MEWS standard which exposed that the IFS application appears to perform highly better in deferring accuracy than the expert MEWS score with higher degrees of sensitivity and specificity being recorded.
