Luxury sports products and brands in general have seen a significant increase in their sales, highlighting the high consumption of smart sports watches. The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating role of cobranding, self-presentation, self-expression, and symbolic values in the relationship between the consumer’s need for uniqueness and the intention to repurchase luxury smart sports watches. The sample consisted of a total of 217 users of smart sports watches. An online questionnaire was used for data collection (24 items from 6 scales) and Smart PLS-SEM software was used for confirmatory factor analysis and to test a structural equation model. The findings provide an insight into the importance of cobranding on self-expression, self-presentation, and symbolic value. Specifically, in the case of intention to repurchase, the results show that symbolic value is the variable with the highest predictive value. This study provides an important advance in the academic literature related to luxury products in the sports sector, and the results facilitate a better understanding of the consumer’s intention to repurchase.

AbstractThis study examines the effect of perceived organisational politics on organisational silence through the mediating role of organisational cynicism. In addition, it tests the effect of perceived support on this relationship. A quantitative (questionnaire survey) design was used to gather data from 346 employees in three public hospitals in Iraq. The structural equation model was used for data analysis. The results demonstrate that all the major hypotheses were accepted, and important role of perceived support in reversing the positive relationship between perceived organisational politics and organisational cynicism was also highlighted. Furthermore, the mediating role was clear in terms of organisational cynicism and the relationship between perceived organisational politics and organisational silence.

Drawing on the theory of responsible environmental behaviour, the study seeks to examine the relationship between internal environmental locus of control (IntLOC)and behaviour towards sustainable apparel in the presence of intention to purchase as a mediator. Consumer knowledge about sustainable apparel was applied as a moderator in this mediated relationship. Data was collected from a sample of 294 Gen Z consumers through an online questionnaire Structural Equation modelling and Hayes PROCESS MACROS were the statistical tools employed to test the moderated mediation model. The results depict that IntLOC is animportant predictor of purchase behaviour towards sustainable apparel products. Intention to purchase has also been established as a partial mediator in the mode. Finally, consumer knowledge also acts as a significant moderator in the study.

Administrative practices have always been acknowledged as a crucial tool for establishing good governance. Strong evidence shows that good governance extensively influences citizens’ behaviors toward government. This study empirically examines how good governance promote public trust with possibly mediating role of e-government. A field survey was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 1000 Pakistani individuals. The response rate was 76.3%. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modelling were used to analyze the data. The results confirmed the casual relationship between good governance and public trust. The results also reveal that e-government plays a mediating role in the relationship between good governance and public trust. The findings may be practically useful for both research and policy making, since it investigated the citizens' perspective of good governance, public trust and e-government.

This study aimed to analyze the differences between gender roles and the influence of hijrah intention and satisfaction on customer loyalty in Islamic banks. The data was collected from the Indonesian Islamic bank customers using convenience sampling. A total of 360 out of 927 questionnaires were received and sent back online. The hypothesis was tested using Structural Equation Model (SEM) with Smart-PLS. The variable indicators of interest were reflective and adapted from some previous literature. Furthermore, the data had satisfied convergent and discriminant validity requirements. The results showed that the Islamic bank customer loyalty routes differ between men and women. Satisfaction encourages hijrah intention without directly affecting customer loyalty in males. However, satisfaction strongly determines loyalty rather than hijrah intention for women. In the full model, hijrah intention serves a stronger mediating role on the satisfaction and loyalty relationship than the mediating role of satisfaction on the hijrah intention-loyalty relationship.

In the new global economy, export promotion and job creation have become two central issues for economic sustainability. This study aims to raise awareness of the importance of organizational capabilities in job creation through exports. By emphasizing the role of exports in shaping a linkage between organizational capabilities and job creation, this research focuses on how to improve exports that benefit employment creation in the context of Korean small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Using survey data of 414 SMEs collected by jointly working with the Korea Federation of SMEs and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, this study employs a structural equation model to investigate a mediation model that links organizational capabilities to job creation through export growth. The main findings of this study are that both technological and manufacturing capability positively influence export growth; export growth has a positive effect on job creation, fully mediates a positive linkage between technological capability and job creation and also plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between manufacturing capability and job creation. Finally, the present study contributes to the literature on exports and job creation and also provides useful information for SME operators and policymakers.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between power distance, collectivism and relational silence; the associations between relational silence and stress; and the mediating role of relational silence in the link between power distance, collectivism and stress. Design/methodology/approach – The authors conducted a survey among 1,153 highly skilled employees using a self-administered questionnaire. The authors received 813 responses from a total of 1,153 individuals. Among the 813 responses, the authors excluded 81 due to incomplete data, and thus analyzed a total of 732 responses. The overall response rate was 63.4 percent. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were utilized for the analyses. Findings – The findings suggest that power distance and collectivism induce relational silence; relational silence increases stress and mediates the associations between power distance, collectivism and stress. Originality/value – The present study is the first to provide empirical evidence of a link between power distance, collectivism and relational silence; the relationship between relational silence and stress; and the role of relational silence in mediating the associations between power distance, collectivism and stress.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to empirically investigate the relationships between career competency, career resilience and career success. The study further examines the mediating role of career resilience on the relationship between career competency and career success. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected from 284 Islamic bank employees across Pakistan through a cross-sectional, self-reporting, online questionnaire. Partial least squares structural equation modeling was used to test the proposed hypotheses using Smart PLS version 3.0. Findings The study’s results indicate that career competency is a significant predictor of career resilience, and that career resilience is subsequently a significant predictor of career success. Further, the results of the structural equation model analyses supported the proposition that career resilience mediates the relationship between career competency and career success. Practical implications Human resource practitioners and managers can increase the likelihood of their employees’ career resilience by focusing on developing career-related competencies – an antecedent of career success. Originality/value The study clarifies prevailing misconceptions that assume a direct linear relationship between career competency and career success by establishing, through empirical evidence, that success is not an ultimate outcome of competence. In addition, it proposes an oversimplified model of the competence–resilience–success relationship.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the mediating role of business regulations in between the relationship of governance and international trade. Data were collected from 181 countries and the partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM) was used to test the hypotheses. It was found that the business regulations practiced by a country significantly influence its international trade, but the governance of the country has a significant indirect influence on its international trade. A full mediation was evident from the results, where the indirect effect of governance on international trade was observed to be fully mediated by business regulations. The study will contribute to guiding governments and regulatory bodies to improve governance and business regulatory environment to facilitate international trade.

Gaming has long been an interest of studies in the behaviour of youngsters. In particular, game players are spending increasing amount of expenses in purchasing gaming related items. Why mobile game players would purchase virtual items for their games? The aim of this study is to examine the mediating effect of hedonic value to the relationship between peer influence and gamer’s satisfaction. Anonymous questionnaire was used to collect data through a survey website. A total of 126 valid responses were collected in the survey. Data collected were first analysed using confirmatory factor analysis, and the conceptual framework was then examined by using the structural equation modelling. Results revealed that there exists a mediating effect of hedonic value on the relationship between peer influence and gamer’s satisfaction. They provide valuable insights to game developers and marketers on how to enhance gamer’s satisfaction by peer influence through enhancement of hedonic value.
