This exploratory study aimed to examine the validity of the sustainability evaluation model suggested and the sustainability of the standard gauge railway (SGR) construction project in Africa’s developing countries with Tanzania as a case study. By using the proposed railway sustainability evaluation model, the researchers collected data from 300 people, which included workers in the project and people living or conducting businesses along the route of the first phase of the project (Dar-es-salaam to Morogoro). Data was collected using semi-structured questionnaires and analyzed using the structural equation model (SEM) technique and correlation analysis. The findings validated the model used to be efficient in railway sustainability evaluation, and also, the researchers were able to realize from the data collected that the first phase of the SGR in Tanzania is sustainable for development. The study suggests encouraging and collaborating with local agencies to improve local railway maintenance and operations skills in order to ensure the project’s long-term viability and extension.

The mega-infrastructure projects system complexity will increase along with the growing rate of stakeholders` quantity, changeable construction environment and multidisciplinary technical implementation. The research aims to analyze the characteristics of this kind of projects progress in the time dimension and evaluate the complexity of the mega infrastructure project system. The complexity evaluation system including 18 measurement indicators is proposed based on the theory of complex system and the structural equation model are applied to be calculated the solution which indicated the key factors and measurement of the mega-infrastructure projects. The conclusion has been drawn and tested by the Wuhan East Lake Channel Project as case study which showed that the measure index and the evaluation model can be applied in evaluating complexity of the mega-infrastructural projects scientifically.

<p>A large number of banks let people be more free in choosing the best bank for their needs. People can freely switch from one bank to another which makes the loyalty level of bank customers decrease, even though the efforts and cost spent for maintaining the customers is cheaper than the efforts and cost spent on getting new customers. Relationship is one of the answers to the problem, relationship marketing is a marketing principle which emphasizes and takes effort in maintaining good long term relationship with customers. This research aims to, analyze the influence competence, communication, and conflict handling towards relationship quality, mediated by relationship quality, and towards customer loyalty. The research was conducted by collecting quantitative data through questionnaires distributed to 130 respondents. The objects of this research were the priority customers at Niaga Bank, and it used purposive sampling technique. This research conducted by using Structural Equation Model method. The result of this research showed that, (1) relationship marketing which consists of competence component, communication, and conflict handling have significant influence and positively towards relationship quality, partially and simultaneously, (2) relationship marketing have significant influence and positively towards customer loyalty which is mediated by relationship quality, and (3) relationship quality have significant influence and positively towards customer loyalty.</p>

In recent years, the unsustainable behaviors of straw utilization have led to waste straw being one of the sources of agricultural non-point source pollution. Studying the resource utilization of crop straw is conducive to expediate the development of ecological and green agriculture. More importantly, it has long-term significance for the recycling of agricultural waste, improving the quality of rural life, and the employment of farmers. Based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB), taking the representative survey questionnaire of farmers in Jilin Province, China as the sample, the structural equation model (SEM) was constructed to study the main factors that drive the utilization behaviors of straw resources of farmers and to explore the driving mechanism of the farmers behaviors in Jilin Province. The results show that the behavioral attitude and subjective norms of farmers in Jilin Province not only indirectly affect their actual behaviors through behavioral willingness, but also has significant direct effects on their behaviors. The most critical factors that affect the willingness of farmers to utilize the straw resources in Jilin Province are subjective norms and moral responsibilities. The subjective norms of farmers have a direct and significant positive impact on their willingness and behaviors. Behavioral attitude and perceived behavior control have a significant positive impact on their willingness. The behavioral willingness has a significant positive impact on their actual behaviors. This study provides guidance for the utilization of straw resources policy implications.

Bifactor models are commonly used to assess whether psychological and educational constructs underlie a set of measures. We consider empirical underidentification problems that are encountered when fitting particular types of bifactor models to certain types of data sets. The objective of the article was fourfold: (a) to allow readers to gain a better general understanding of issues surrounding empirical identification, (b) to offer insights into empirical underidentification with bifactor models, (c) to inform methodologists who explore bifactor models about empirical underidentification with these models, and (d) to propose strategies for structural equation model users to deal with underidentification problems that can emerge when applying bifactor models.

Taking a case study of tourism as hospitality industry in Lampung Province in Indonesia, we analyze the antecedent of customer satisfaction and its impact on customer retention. Using Structural Equation Model (SEM), we find that customer relationship management has a significant impact on service quality, customer satisfaction and customer retention.

<p>Traditional production is carried out using fossil fuels. In recent years, the destructive effects of fossil fuel elimination especially on human health and the environment became prominent. This effect leads to an increase in health expenditures (HE), and health problems that are severe and require long term therapies. To counter this problem, some countries have taken some measures to mini the effects of fossil fuels. One of these measures is called “Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry” or LULUCF for short. LULUCF aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere by natural means that are cheap. In this regard, this paper aims to analyze the effects of harmful gases of total emissions in terms of health expenditures both including LULUCF (LI) and excluding LULUCF (LE). Panel data methodology and SPSS Path (Structural Equation) Model were used and cover G7 countries between 1990 and 2016. It was found that there is no linear relationship between LE and HE and LI has no effect on HE. Path analysis showed a negative correlation between LI total emission and SH and a positive correlation between LE total emission and HE.</p>

Tamping is one of the major activities undertaken by railway maintenance managers to recover the track geometry condition. Modelling the effectiveness of tamping along with track geometry degradation is essential for long-term prediction of track geometry behaviour. The aim of this study is to analyse the effect of tamping on the different track geometry measurements, i.e. longitudinal level, alignment and cant, based on inspection car records from a part of the Main Western Line in Sweden. To model recovery after tamping, a probabilistic approach is applied. The track geometry condition before tamping was considered as the dominant factor for modelling the model parameters. Correlation analysis was performed to measure the linear relation between the recoveries of the different geometry measures. The results show a moderate correlation between the recovery of the longitudinal level and that of the cant, and a weak correlation between the recovery of the longitudinal level and that of the alignment. Linear regression and Wiener process were also applied to model track geometry degradation and to obtain degradation rates. The effect of tamping on degradation rate was analysed. It was observed that degradation rate increased after tamping.

This research focus on the influence of the network convergence to the cable TV network enterprises. Based on the literature review, status quo and case study, this research combines the collection of open questionnaires, generalizes the influencing factors of the cable TV networks transformation that involve external and internal factors. The influence of external factors is evaluated by the influence of each factor to the component elements of the model, while that of the internal factors is estimated through that to the enterprises competitive advantage. Therefore, this research establishes the structural equation model, followed by the corresponding hypotheses and tests.
