Biology education has adopted the goal of educating future generations about sustainable, healthy habits. The current paper focuses on drinking-related nutritional literacy—the characteristic of health education that refers to aspects of healthy drinking: drinking enough water and fewer sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs). The study aims to foster school students’ critical thinking about the quality and the quantity of what they drink in everyday life. Facilitating students’ metacognitive awareness was achieved, as they were engaged in a biology learning activity centered on the importance of healthy drinking in everyday life. The study focused on two research questions: 1. What is the contribution of drinking-related metacognitive guidance to the development of metacognitive awareness concerning healthy drinking among students? 2. What is the contribution of drinking-related metacognitive guidance to the way students express the principles and importance of healthy drinking as part of their metacognitive awareness thinking process? The findings indicate a quantitative and qualitative improvement in drinking-related metacognitive awareness among those students who received metacognitive guidance as part of biology teaching. This paper suggests that metacognitive guidance has a significant pedagogical potential to improve sustainable healthy habits among children.

Mathematical communication skills of junior secondary school students in coastal area are still considered low due to the lack of contextual problem technique in the teaching of mathematics. The various potencies of the coastal area have been damaged without any concern. It is interesting to investigate the contextual problem in mathematics teaching because it can be identified, required, and related to everyday life. The objective of this study is to enhance mathematical communication skills of junior secondary school students in the coastal area. Using coastal-based contextual teaching and learning (CCTL) can enhance: (1) students’ mathematical communication skills better than conventional teaching and learning (CVTL); and (2) the students’ learning activity, fluency of argument in problem solving process, advanced question skills, and knowledge of coastal area potencies and problems.

Kata kunci: pembelajaran terintergrasi, pembelajaran IPA, nilai iman, budi pekerti   IMPLEMENTATION OF INTEGRATED SCIENCE LEARNING TO MAP THE FAITH VALUES (CHARACTERS) OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS  Abstract The aims of this study is to determine the application of integrated science learning and faith values in primary school and map the reflection of faith values of learners. The research method used is qualitative desctiptive. The instrument used is the guidance of focus group discussion (FGD), observation sheet of the implementation of integrated learning and the reflection result of learners. The result of the research shows that 1) Integrated learning of science can be implemented in elementary school class IV. The results of the implementation indicate that the integrated SCL learning is in the high category with the value of 68,75%, it’s increase 37,50% from the initial learning activity. 2) The result of the reflection of the learner's material shows that 83.72% of learners are above the minimum mastery criteria. Integrated science learning is also capable of delivering learners to reflect the values of good character faith. This can be seen from each written answer containing the attitude of self, knowing the progress of experience, benefits and gratitude to God with various attitudes. Keywords: integrated learning, science learning, faith values, characters
