The paper is based on a survey and investigates the functioning of historic gardens during the pandemic. The authors collected and analysed information on the impact of the pandemic on the behaviour of visitors, maintenance, and condition of cultural heritage assets, European historic gardens. Four aspects were considered particularly carefully: the situation of gardens during the COVID-19 pandemic, maintenance and care in gardens, virtual activity and communication, and financial consequences. The authors determined the conditions of the gardens and the problems they faced based on a survey completed by 23 managers of 31 historic gardens from June to August 2020 and then proposed a diagnosis. The paper presents the survey results. In general, visitor volumes tended to drop in 2020, which significantly affected gardens’ financial standing and contributed to workforce reductions. The garden condition and treatments were affected, as well. Reduced visitor volumes resulted in positive environmental changes. Among them were ecological succession, the stability of landscaped plants, increase in vegetation, improved biodiversity in the ground cover, and enhanced animal presence. Additional safety measures were implemented after the gardens were reopened to the public during the pandemic, mostly social distancing, and obligatory face masks. Less than half of the gardens had contingency plans, and 25% of the respondents were working to develop one. The analyses provided foundations to start working on a universal emergency strategy similar to procedures used for years for permanent collections at museums. Note that, being open public spaces and live museums, historic gardens were the first places reopened after the lockdown. Recommendations based on the study can contribute to the future safe functioning of historic gardens in other similar crises. The guidelines offer instructions, advice, and recommendations that form foundations of the development of a universal management model facilitating the preservation of historic gardens in good condition while exploiting their ecological potential.

One of the main criteria for economic development is the size of the public debt and its dynamics. The article considers the impact of public debt on the financial security of Ukraine. The views of scientists on the essence of public debt and financial security of the state are substantiated. An analysis of the dynamics and structure of public debt of Ukraine for 2014-2019. It is proved that one of the main criteria for economic development is the size of public debt and its dynamics. State budget deficit, attracting and using loans to cover it have led to the formation and significant growth of public debt in Ukraine. The volume of public debt indicates an increase in the debt security of the state, which is a component of financial security. Therefore, the issue of the impact of public debt on the financial security of Ukraine is becoming increasingly relevant. The constant growth and large amounts of debt make it necessary to study it, which will have a positive impact on economic processes that will ensure the stability of the financial system and enhance its security.

While the growing ubiquitousness of translation and interpreting has established these activities more firmly in the public consciousness, the extent of the translators’ and interpreters’ contribution to the continued functioning of cosmopolitan and participatory postmodern societies remains largely misunderstood. This paper argues that the theorisation of translation and interpretation as social phenomena and of translators/interpreters as agents contributing to the stability or subversion of social structures through their capacity to re-define the context in which they mediate constitutes a recent development in the evolution of the discipline. The consequentiality of the mediators’ agency, one of the most significant insights to come out of this new body of research, is particularly evident in situations of social, political and cultural confrontation. It is contended that this conceptualisation of agency opens up the possibility of translation being used not only to resolve conflict and tension, but also to promote them. Through a variety of theoretical and methodological approaches, the contributing authors to this special issue explore a number of sites of linguistic and cultural mediation across a range of institutional settings and textual/interactional genres, with particular emphasis on the contribution of translation and interpreting to the genealogy of conflict. The papers presented here address a number of overlapping themes, including the dialectics of governmental policy-making and translation, the interface between translation, politics and the media, the impact of the narrative affiliation of translators and interpreters as agents of mediation, the frictional dynamics of interpreter-mediated institutional encounters and the dynamics of identity negotiation.

Dissolved Inorganic Carbon (DIC) is one of the main chemical components in water and very sensitive with environmental changes. DIC content in river water closely relates with natural weathering process and human activities in the whole basin. Therefore, DIC concentration reflects the impact of natural conditions and human activities in the basin to river water quality. This paper presents the survey results of the DIC concentrations at 4 sites in the Red River system during the period from January 2008 to December 2015 and simultaneously considers the relationship between some environmental variables and the DIC concentrations in the river water. The survey results showed that the DIC concentrations in the Red River water varied from 9.1 to 29.9 mgC.L-1, averaging 19.6 mgC.L-1 during the study period. The DIC concentrations are positively correlated with pH values and some major ions concentrations in river water, such as K+, Na+, Ca2+, SO42- but negatively correlated with water temperature. These relationships also indicate that the DIC concentrations in the Red River water are influenced by natural conditions, rather than by human activities in the river basin.

The intensity of the current climate change has strong consequences on high mountain tourism activities. Winter activities are currently the most studied (ski industry). However, the consequences of environmental changes are also strong in summer, as geomorphological processes are enhanced at high elevation. The Mont Blanc Massif (Western Alps) is a particularly favourable terrain for the development of research about these processes. Emblematic high summits (28 of the 82 peaks > 4000 m of the Alps), dozens of glaciers, strongly developed tourism with summer/winter equivalence, active mountaineering practice, etc. all contribute to the interest of studying this geographical area. A lot of work has been carried out on glaciological and geomorphological issues. These studies, which deal with "physical" impacts of the climate change on the high mountains, are also supplemented by studies of their consequences on human societies, as its impacts on practices such as mountaineering or glacier tourism. Risk-related issues are also taken into account with, for example, the stability of infrastructure (huts, ski lifts) or the impact of glacial shrinkage on the formation of new and potentially hazardous lakes. Accordingly, the aims of our presentation are to show the extent of the research developed on climate change in the Mont Blanc massif and how social and environmental sciences are interlinked to provide a holistic vision of the issues of this territory. As these experiments are not exactly interdisciplinary experiments, this presentation also aims to discuss the points that need to be further developed in order to promote inter- and trans-disciplinary research.

The security of the public finance sector of Ukraine requires monitoring of indicators of the stability of the financial system of the country, as well as modeling the impact of these indicators on the country’s financial security. It is shown that the stability of the financial system of the economy can be checked with the help of the provisions of econophysics. The concept of equilibrium is using to determine stability. The influence of factors on the level of financial security, which is one of the aspects of assessing the stability of the financial system of Ukraine is able to evaluate by simulation. The model of the financial system stability of the country is constructed in the paper. This research can serve as the basis for the adoption by the relevant state institutions of sound decisions on ensuring the stability of the financial system of Ukraine.

Since taking off as an industry in Sweden in the 1980s, contract archaeology has changed not only the role of field archaeologists but also that of museums and the formation of collections. This paper discusses some of the effects of the commercialization of archaeological services through a case study of past and present collection practices. Data records are compared from three different archaeological investigations at the site Nya Lödöse (1473-1621) in Gothenburg. Each excavation represents a particular era in archaeological practice. The data are used to compare and analyse collecting practices within contemporary contract archaeology. Separately, a survey among contract archaeology units examines the implementation of legislative guidelines and day-to-day practices and suggests several causes for anomalies in the selection and discarding of finds in the case study. Combined, the findings of the case study and the survey results, suggest that contract archaeology leaves a specific imprint on collections in archaeological museums, impacting their compilation, and therefore influencing future research as well as the experience of the public.

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a recession in Indonesia. Islamic philanthropy is a solution offered by Islamic economics in an effort to overcome the impact of economic turmoil due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Islamic philanthropic institutions need to innovate, one of which is through digitalizing aid-raising (zakat, infaq, alms). This study aims to determine public interest in the philanthropic movement and the role of digitalization of Islamic philanthropy in reducing the impact of the economic recession in society. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the object of research is the ACT (Quick Response Action) in Surakarta. The data obtained were sourced from observations, interviews and related literature studies. Research informants came from donation institutions (ACT), donors and recipients of donations. The results showed that during the pandemic, people's motivation to share increased. This positive interest, coupled with the role of digitalizing donation payments, has made it easier for the public to pay for donations. This momentum has proven to trigger the optimization of fundraising for humanitarian aid donations in helping affected communities, so as to reduce the potential for economic turmoil by maintaining the stability of people's purchasing power.

Banking crisis that occurred in 1997 and the issuance of Bank Indonesia regulations Number 8/16/PBI/2006 Regarding Single Presence on Indonesian Banking, led to a merger in the banking industry. Merger action is a legal act, not only causes economic and financial consequences but also the juridical consequences. The consequences of the merger to be seen is the impact on the public shareholders especially in the of bank in form public company. In the event of a merger, position of public shareholders is very weak in regard to corporate decision-making (the company). If the views of the ownership of shares, public shareholders are almost always going to lose when dealing with shareholders, because for every share issued has one vote. The results of this research showedCapital Markets Law and BAPEPAM regulation Number IX.G.1 About Merger or Consolidation Enterprises Public Company or the Issuerdoes not regulate further the understanding and clear criteria of "reasonable stock price". But in bank merger the form of public company, necessary services as a professional independent appraisal supporting the capital markets as mentioned in Article 64 and Article 67 of Act Number 8 Year 1995 About Capital Market, which in turn can make a reasonable assessment of the stock price that reflects fairness for public or minority shareholders.

Climate change influences more and more of our activities. These changes led to environmental changes which has in turn affected the spatial and temporal distribution of the incidence of vector-borne diseases. To establish the impact of climate on contact rate of vector-borne diseases, we examine the variation of prevalence of diseases according to season. In this paper, the goal is to establish that the basic reproductive number [Formula: see text] depends on the duration of transmission period and the date of the first conta-mination case that was declared ([Formula: see text]) in the specific case of malaria. We described the dynamics of transmission of malaria by using non-autonomous differential equations. We analyzed the stability of endemic equilibrium (EE) and disease-free equilibrium (DFE). We prove that the persistence of disease depends on minimum and maximum values of contact rate of vector-borne diseases.

In this paper, a mathematical model to study the impact of Twitter in controlling infectious disease is proposed. The model includes the dynamics of “tweets” which may enhance awareness of the disease and cause behavioral changes among the public, thus reducing the transmission of the disease. Furthermore, the model is improved by introducing a time delay between the outbreak of disease and the release of Twitter messages. The basic reproduction number and the conditions for the stability of the equilibria are derived. It is shown that the system undergoes Hopf bifurcation when time delay is increased. Finally, numerical simulations are given to verify the analytical results.
