The suitable utility of driving the enterprise architecture exercise is to utilize the enterprise architecture framework as the fundamental guidance. But there are some challenges of applying those frameworks for government and their agencies because most of the frameworks have concentrated focus for the private sector which some fundamentally requirement of government would be specifically different. This paper aims to propose that the sustainable government enterprise architecture framework specifically applies for the national strategic planning in the optimum exercise process and clarity guidance for the information technology organization being able to transform and improve their services for an achievable adaptation efficiency, simplification, cost management, collaboration, shareability, and standardization which accommodate the rapidly changing service usability on digitalization known as “e-Government.” The fundamental design idea of this proposed framework has identified five keys principles, which are (1) legislation support, (2) top-down target architecture, (3) architecture governance, (4) shared services, and (5) cross-organization collaboration that would be considered as the key critical success factors for achieving the exercise. The overall response of the specific expert survey of this proposed framework has demonstrated the consensus responded at 90 percentage agreeable, which would strongly consider this framework applicable for groups of developing countries as the baseline framework for their digitalized transformation.

Considering the relation between Enterprise Architecture (EA) and IT is a prerequisite when promoting the uptake of IT by societies. In this paper, the authors propose an “Adaptive Integrated EA framework,” based on the results of a survey, to support the strategy of promoting cloud/mobile IT. They considered a unique advanced case and provide details and the structure/mechanism of building this EA framework in a global pharmaceutical company. Moreover, the authors revealed the effectiveness of the proposed EA framework by evaluating/analyzing the problems caused by the rapid shift to cloud/mobile IT in divisions in the US and Europe. Furthermore, they compared the characteristics of The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and the “Adaptive Integrated EA framework” (global deployment) in building EA frameworks while evaluating the effectiveness of this framework to achieve digital transformation. Finally, the authors clarify the challenges, benefits, and critical success factors of the framework to assist EA practitioners with its implementation.

Enterprise architecture (EA) is useful for promoting digital transformation in global companies and information societies. In this paper, the authors investigated and analyzed the process for digital transformation in global companies, together with related work in using and applying an enterprise architecture framework for the digital era named the adaptive integrated digital architecture framework (AIDAF). Moreover, they position the AIDAF framework for processing digital transformation in global companies. Based on this analysis, the authors propose and describe a new enterprise architecture process for promoting digital transformation in global companies. Furthermore, the authors propose an adaptive EA cycle-based architecture board framework on digital platforms, while verifying them with case studies in global companies. Finally, the authors clarify the challenges and critical success factors of the process and framework for digital transformation with architecture board reviews in the adaptive EA cycle to assist EA practitioners with its implementation.

<span>This research was conducted to develop the Indonesian Government Enterprise Architecture (IGEA) framework which is suitable for Indonesian government agencies. Due to their complexity and expensive implementation cost, existing EA frameworks such as TOGAF and Zachman have so far not been the choice for building GEA by some countries including Australia and New Zealand. Those countries have built their own GEA namely Australia’s AGA and New Zealand’s GEA-NZ, respectively. Learning from this experience, the authors did a research to build Indonesia’s GEA or IGEA. This paper explains the research process which starts from mapping or comparing TOGAF, AGA, and GEA-NZ frameworks to get the underlying foundation for building GEA, analyzing framework artifacts, to building IGEA by adding specific Indonesian regulations and policies such as RPJMN and Nawacita. This IGEA framework is expected to become a reference for developing EA not only at institutional level but also the most important thing at national or cross institutional level, in order to increase the effectiveness of government IT spending.</span>

The business transformation project (BTP) of a modern business environment needs a well-designed information and cyber technology security automation concept (ITSAC) that, in turn, depends on measurable success factors. These factors are used for the evolution of the transformation process. During the last decade, due to the global insecurity and financial crisis, the security strategies are not efficient. That is mainly due to the fact that businesses depend on security standards, cyber and information technology evolution, enterprise architecture, business engineering, and multilevel interoperability. They are restricted to blindfolded infrastructure security operations. Major BTPs are brutally wrecked by various security violations that may cause a no-go decision.

<em>Service orientation is an approach in the field of enterprise architecture, business information systems and software application that its main element is the service. Shared services is an organization model of sharing, across an organization. It enables collaboration among the functions/departments. Main motivations for shared services are sharing, promote efficiency, reduce cost, and support scalability. Despite of the widespread use of these two approaches in information technology, there is no tool to optimize the management of them. The aim of this study is Ontological map of service oriented architecture based on zachman framework to adapt it in the reference enterprise architecture framework through implementation ontology views on system architect software and as well as equivalent ontology component with UML diagrams. After the implementation of the suggested model, the results showed that ontology is a formal description and explicit display of objects, concepts and other entities in the relationship between them. In other words, there is a model that describe all that is in fact in to understandable language for the system. Thus the proposed establishes have association between all aspects of zachman framework, also to create a clear description of business concepts in the management of shared services and is effective to provide a unified platform for enterprise modeling.</em>
