Mobile application innovation diffusion can be used to enhance the reputation and competitiveness of Internet enterprises. However, few works have explored the process of mobile application innovation diffusion from the individual perspective. Therefore, this paper employs multi-agent methods to simulate the innovation diffusion of mobile applications from the perspective of social networks. Specifically, we combine psychology, sociology, game theory and network effect theory to model user behaviors of adoption and rejection decisions for mobile applications. The multi-agent model was built in Anylogic 8 to simulate the communication and interaction between individual users. Then, this paper discusses the evolution of decision-making of social network user groups with different network structures and network effects. We also investigate the impact of different firms’ promotion on innovation diffusion. Our findings suggest firms could make better strategies and achieve better diffusion effects from mobile applications.

The successful diffusion of mobile applications in user groups can establish a good image for enterprises, gain a good reputation, fight for market share, and create commercial profits. Thus, it is of great significance for the successful diffusion of mobile applications to study mobile application diffusion and social network coevolution. Firstly, combined with a social network’s dynamic change characteristics in real life, a mobile application users’ social network evolution mechanism was designed. Then, a multi-agent model of the coevolution of a social network and mobile application innovation diffusion was constructed. Finally, the impact of mobile applications’ value perception revenue, use cost, marketing promotion investment, and the number of seed users on the coevolution of social network and mobile application diffusion were analyzed. The results show that factors such as the network structure, the perceived value income, the cost of use, the marketing promotion investment, and the number of seed users have an important impact on mobile application diffusion.

Subject. The article addresses economic relations that are formed in various areas of economic application of digital platforms. The target of the research is the modern economy of digital platforms across different economic activities. Objectives. The aim is to systematize principles for share economy formation in the context of the digital society development. Methods. We employ general scientific methods of research. Results. The study shows that the development of digital platforms is one of the most important trends in the development of the modern economy. We classified certain characteristic features of modern digital platforms, analyzed principles for their creation. The paper emphasizes that the network effects achieved through the use of digital platforms are an important factor in the development of the share economy. The network effect describes the impact of the number of the platform users on the value created for each of them. The paper also considers differences in the organization of traditional economy companies and companies that are based on the digital platform model, reveals specifics of changes in socio-economic systems caused by the development of digital platforms, systematizes principles of the sharing economy formation in the context of the digital society development. Conclusions. The analyzed principles for sharing economy development on the basis of digital platforms can be applied to create models for the purpose of forecasting the transformation of economic activity in the post-industrial society.

BACKGROUND Research on the use of the Internet in the medical field is experiencing many advances, including mobile applications, social networks, telemedicine. Its implementation in medical care and comprehensive patient management is a much discussed topic at present. OBJECTIVE This narrative review aims to understand the impact of the internet and social networks on the management of diabetes, both for patients and medical staff. METHODS The bibliographic search was carried out in the databases Pubmed, Virtual Health Library (VHL) and Lilacs between 2018 to 2020. RESULTS Multiple mobile applications have been created for the help and control of diabetic patients, as well as the implementation of online courses, improving the knowledge of health personnel applying them in the field of telemedicine. CONCLUSIONS The use of the Internet and social networks brings many benefits for both the diabetic patient and the health personnel, offering advantages for both.

The overlap between one innovative paradigm (P4 medicine: predictive, personalized, participatory and preventive) and another (a new definition of “Healthy ageing”) is fertile ground for new technologies; a new mobile application (app) that could broaden our scientific knowledge of the ageing process and help us to better analyse the impact of possible interventions in slowing the ageing decline. A novel mobile application is here presented as a game including questions and tests will allow in 10 minutes the assessment of the following domains: robustness, flexibility (lower muscle strength), balance, mental and memory complaints, semantic memory and visual retention. This game is completed by specific measurements, which could allow establishing precise information on functional and cognitive abilities. A global evaluation precedes advice and different types of exercises. The repetition of the tests and measures will allow a long follow up of the individual performances which could be shared (on specific request) with family members and general practitioners.

This article is devoted to the study of the conditions for the formation of paremiological competence in a foreign language lesson using mobile applications. Their usage allows to improve the quality of the process of learning foreign language thanks to the elements of interactivity. Mobile applications provide the ability of flexible adaptation of educational content to the individual needs of the teacher. Using the mobile application called ‘Quizlet’ is one of the most effective ways to form the paremiological component of communicative competence in schoolchildren at the initial stage of education. The success of using this mobile application in teaching English vocabulary is confirmed by the results of the pedagogical experiment.

A survey was conducted to assess the impact of mobile applications developed by theKrishiVigyan Kendra Banavasi with 150 farmers in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh inthe year 2020. KVK Banavasi developed three mobile applications namely ANGRAU-ATARI CFLD, ANGRAU Pashu Poshan and Fertilizer Calculator for benefiting farmingcommunity. Majority (64.67%) of the respondents were found in medium usage of mobileapplications, in agriculture. Fertilizer Calculator mobile application was found highest usage(74.50%) among the farmers when compared with other two applications. ANGRAUATATRI CFLD application was used by an average of 46.83 per cent farmers forinformation on new improved varieties, 75 % for control measures of pest and diseasesand 29 per cent for market related information. ANGRAU Pashu Poshan application wasused by 75 per cent livestock farmers for sheep management, 56 per cent for cattlemanagement and 45 per cent for poultry related information. Fertilizer calculator applicationwas used by 80 per cent farmers for recommended dose of fertilizers and 10 per cent forsoil test based fertilizer application.

BACKGROUND Chronic diseases are an important public health issue worldwide and affect an individual's quality of life. Due to the alarming rise in type 2 diabetes, healthcare, which was previously largely focused primarily on diagnosis and treatment of the disease, is increasingly focused on prevention and self-care. Patients who adhere to a constant and strict treatment regimen (physical activity, diet, medication) and regularly monitor their health, maintain self-care and health, prevent exacerbation of the disease and prevent complications of diabetes (retinopathy, diabetic feet). Many innovative devices that have become increasingly present in patient health care in recent years, such as mobile applications, are available to patients to maintain consistency in monitoring their health status. Mobile applications make it easier for individuals to monitor their self-care, monitor illness, and make it easier to follow instructions regarding disease control. OBJECTIVE The study aim is to determine the impact of mobile application use on self-care in patients with type 2 diabetes. The aim of the study is also to evaluate and test the usefulness of the forDiabetes application as a tool to improve the self-care of individuals with type 2 diabetes. METHODS We will perform a double-blind randomized controlled trial. The study will include individuals over the age of 18 who have been diagnosed and have regulated type 2 diabetes, who have already received oral treatment and are being treated in family medicine practice. Also, individuals included in the study should not have any acute complications due to the consequences of type 2 diabetes. During the study, they should be able to use an Android or iOS mobile phone and a blood glucose meter. With the help of simple randomization, individuals will be divided into an intervention and a control group. Individuals in the intervention group will use the forDiabetes mobile app to monitor their self-care for type 2 diabetes. Individuals in the control group will not receive a special intervention. Data will be collected using the “Self-care of Diabetes Inventory” questionnaire and a “Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire”. Blood sugar, blood pressure, HbA1c, and weight measurements will be monitored using the calibrated instruments during the study by the nurses employed in family medicine practice. Data will be collected at the beginning of the study and after the patient visit to the family medicine practice. RESULTS The expected results as a result of using the mobile application forDiabetes are the impact on the level of self-care, the impact on the perception of the disease, blood sugar levels, blood pressure, HbA1c, and the measured body weight of the patient. CONCLUSIONS The research contributes to greater visibility and usability of mobile applications for self-care of patients with type 2 diabetes and makes aware of the possible use of innovative methods. In light of the rapid growth of social networks around the world, this study analyses the impact of social networks on the diffusion of products and demonstrates the effective way to diffuse products in the society where social networks play an important role. We construct a consumer behaviour model by multi-agent simulation taking the movie market as an example. After validating it by using data from 13 US movies, we conduct simulations. Our simulation results show that the impact of social networks on the diffusion differs according to the customers’ expectations and evaluation for a movie. We also demonstrate the effective weekly advertising budget allocations corresponding to the types of movies. We find that the difference of weekly advertising budget allocations gives greater impact on the diffusion with the growth of social networks. This paper provides firm’s managers with important suggestions for diffusion strategy considering the impact of social networks.

Abstract Background Between one and two percent of the population of the developed countries are currently treated with oral anticoagulation therapy. The transition of all or part of the responsibility for therapy management to the patient is an appropriate strategy to respond increasing demand for oral anticoagulation therapy. The main objective of this original study was to investigate the impact of using mobile applications on health outcomes in patient self-management of oral anticoagulation therapy. Methods The papers reviewed in this study had two key characteristics: firstly, they were written in English, and secondly, they used mobile application in oral anticoagulation therapy. An Android mobile application called XrinA was developed to provide warfarin patient self-management. The study was conducted following a Before-After study design. In the Before and After periods, patients were treated as usual and by using the developed application, respectively. Results In the Before period, the mean percentage of International Normalized Ratios (INRs) within the therapeutic range and Time in Therapeutic Range (TTR) of patients was 31.63% and 34.4%, respectively. In the After period, the mean percentage of INRs within the therapeutic range and TTR of patients was 41.41% and 49.97%, respectively. In the After period, the mean INRs within the therapeutic range and the mean TTR increased by 9.78% and 15.57%, respectively. Conclusions Overall, the use of mHealth applications improved outcomes in patient self-management of oral anticoagulation therapy in terms of the percentage of INRs within the therapeutic range and TTR.

Online professional social networks have become a noteworthy tool to help professionals create, strengthen, and maintain valuable business connections. However, the question remains as to who is actually using online professional social networks and how the diffusion of the social network has occurred. Looking at diffusion and usage through innovation diffusion theory, critical mass and a network effects lens, this paper seeks to examine the diffusion of an online professional social network (LinkedIn) for a specific population of university business schools. Using longitudinal analysis (2008 compared to 2011) our findings advocate network dynamics of homogeneous populations display consistent patterns of participation and non-participation. The authors’ findings suggest LinkedIn diffusion is not consistent across all business schools examined. A greater critical mass and network effect appears to have been achieved across larger research universities when compared to smaller university populations. An analysis of the results and future research directions are presented.
