The concept of Industry 4.0 has been mainly addressed by the current literature from a technological perspective, overlooking the organisational and even ethical challenges related to this recent paradigm. In order to become ‘4.0 compliant’, an enterprise must adapt its organisation and business approaches, and these changes may lead to a significant impact on sustainability. Therefore, we performed a systematic literature review to investigate the most recent Industry 4.0 research streams by adopting a multi-perspective approach. This analysis led to collect insights on the key traits of an Enterprise 4.0: integration, decomposed hierarchy, flexibility, and autonomy. Each of these keywords involves work environments, business and organisational models, and educational approaches, which constitute the key traits of the novel framework proposed in this study.

Even though the topic of Industry 4.0 in the last decade has attracted significant and multifarious attention from academics and practitioners, a structured and systematic review of Industry 4.0 in the context of contemporary logistics is currently lacking. This study attempted to address this shortcoming by performing a systematic review of the available literature of Industry 4.0 in the logistics context. To that end, and after a systematic inclusion/exclusion process, 65 carefully selected papers were addressed in the study. The results obtained from this study were illustrated and discussed in order to provide answers to two research questions pre-defined by the authors. In essence, this study identified emerging aspects and present trends in the area, addressed the main technological developments and evolution of Industry 4.0 and their impact for contemporary logistics, and finally pinpointed literature shortcomings and currently under-explored areas with a high potential for impactful future research. Findings of this review can hopefully be used as the basis for future research in the emerging Logistics 4.0 concept and related topics.

Objective of the study:  The study’s objective is to provide a systematic literature review on the coevolution of the Technologies associated to Industry 4.0 and business models.Methodology/approach: The research was built on conceptual blocs at the interface between Industry 4.0 (I 4.0), business models (BM) and digitalization /digital business models (DBM) in order to identify relevant trends. Through bibliometric techniques, 80 articles were selected from Scopus and WoS, using specialized software.Originality/ Relevance: Few studies exist on the interface under analysis. This article contributes to this emerging literature, providing a synthesis of such literature, including both a detailed descriptive component and an analysis of the main thematic clusters associated to this interface.Main results:  The literature still needs to evolve into a framework of a 4.0 business model. The majority of the existing studies focus on business models to specific technologies associated to Industry 4.0. Among the 80 articles scrutinized, 56 were associated to business models and I4.0, and 24 linked business models and digitalization. Few really described a business model that could be characterized as an I4.0 business model.Theoretical/methodological contributions: Identification of key studies underlying the elaboration of an innovative business model associated to I4.0. An immediate and useful characterization of the literature. Identification of the main thematic clusters.Social/management contributions: To provide academics and professionals (especially in Business/Economics) with a detailed and thorough review of the most relevant literature, including the main aspects underlying the creation of innovative business models based on I4.0.

For several years Lean manufacturing has been adopted by industries in improving the operational performance of the firm. However, Lean manufacturing is associated with fixed production sequence and slow responsiveness, which limits its capability of meeting the constantly changing customer demand, product variability & customisation. This can inhibit its adaptability in the digital era. Meanwhile, Industry 4.0 technologies support the mass production of highly customisable products by being modular and flexible. Although Industry 4.0 technologies can meet the demands of the digital era, they are considered as a solution provider with little scope for organisational process improvement. Hence, an integration of both approaches will lead to a competitive advantage in the digital era. This paper aims to explore and evaluate the work done by researchers in identifying the link between lean manufacturing and Industry 4.0 technologies, through a systematic literature review to understand if lean manufacturing and Industry 4.0 technology can be integrated effectively.

The main purpose of this paper is to present what the Industry 5.0 phenomenon means in the supply chain context. A systematic literature review method was used to get evidence from the current knowledge linked to this theme. The results have evidenced a strong gap related to Industry 5.0 approaches for the supply chain field. Forty-one (41) publications, including conference and journal papers, have been found in the literature. Nineteen (19) words, which were grouped in four (4) clusters, have been identified in the data analysis. This was the basis to form the four (4) constructs of Industry 5.0: Industry Strategy, Innovation and Technologies, Society and Sustainability, and Transition Issues. Then, an alignment with the supply chain context was proposed, being the basis for the incipient Supply Chain 5.0 framework and its research agenda. Industry 5.0 is still in an embryonic and ideal stage. The literature is scarce and many other concepts and discoveries are going to emerge. Although this literature review is based on few available sources, it provides insightful and novel concepts related to Industry 5.0 in the supply chain context. Moreover, it presents a clear set of constructs and a structured research agenda to encourage researchers in deploying further conceptual and empirical works linked to the subject herein explored. Organizations’ leadership, policymakers, and other practitioners involved in supply chains, and mainly those currently working with Industry 4.0 initiatives, can benefit from this research by having clear guidance regarding the dimensions needed to structurally design and implement an Industry 5.0 strategy. This article adds valuable insights to researchers and practitioners, by approaching the newest and revolutionary concept of the Industry 5.0 phenomenon in the supply chain context, which is still an unexplored theme.

The majority of studies that analyze the impact of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial attitudes, intentions, and venture activities report positive influences. However, several scholars have recently cast doubts about research methods and the generalizability of entrepreneurship education impact studies. In this study, we conducted a systematic literature review of the methods used in entrepreneurship education impact studies. Our results uncover significant methodological deficiencies and question the overwhelmingly positive impact of entrepreneurship education. Based on this evidence, we propose a series of recommendations to improve the reliability and validity of entrepreneurship education impact studies and we outline promising topics which are currently under-researched.
