The influence of industrial agglomeration on corporate export behavior has been widely studied by both industry and academia. However, few studies have explored the impact of the spatial agglomeration of China’s wood processing industry on the quality of its products at the micro level. In this study, we analyzed data from the China Customs Database to determine the quality of wood processing industry products at the enterprise level. Then, we matched the China Customs Database with the data in the China Industrial Enterprise Database. Based on this, we analyzed the impact of the spatial agglomeration on the quality of wood products using panel data regression. According to our results, spatial agglomeration of the wood processing industry can significantly improve product quality. Also, private enterprises are more likely to benefit from the advantages conferred by agglomeration than state-owned enterprises. Moreover, trade method does not significantly modulate the effect of spatial agglomeration on the quality of wood products. Last but not least, the agglomeration has the most significantly positive impact on the quality of products produced by the wood chip processing industry, followed by the wood products industry and the wood panel industry. Agglomeration of the bamboo and rattan palm industry actually decreases product quality. Therefore, we encourage agglomeration of timber processing enterprises, especially privately owned wood chip, wood product, and wood panel enterprises, to fully realize the benefits of the agglomeration economy. We also make policy recommendations to improve wood product quality.

PurposeThis study aims to establish the linkage among export tax rebate (ETR), firm innovation and product quality of Chinese agricultural product processing industry (APPI), so that more targeted policy implications can be discussed.Design/methodology/approachUsing highly disaggregated firm-product-destination-level data through 2001 to 2013 of Chinese APPI, this study employs a two-way fixed effects specification to establish the linkage between ETR and product quality, while the mediational model is adopted to examine potential mechanisms.FindingsBaseline estimates show that a 1% increase in ETR rate leads to a significant increase in the product quality of APPI by 0.12% on the whole. However, there is a nonlinear, inverse-U shaped relationship between ETR and product quality, and the optimal inflection point occurs when ERT rate equals 0.15. Mechanism analyses show that firm innovation is an important impact channel, which explains 9.8% of quality improvement induced by raising ETR. Further heterogeneous analyses reveal both the total effects of ETR on product quality and the mediation effects of innovation are dominated by young SMEs (small and medium-size enterprises).Practical implicationsAuthorities can promote the innovation and then product quality improvement of young SMEs by moderately increasing ETR rate. To ensure ETR more effective in improving quality, it is necessary for the government to encourage innovation. Authorities can reduce the risk of innovation failure for low-tech firms by increasing R&D subsidies, while ensuring innovation returns for high-tech firms in combination with stronger intellectual property protection.Originality/valueFirst, this is one of the earlier studies to explore the relationship between ETR and product quality specifically for Chinese APPI. Second, we show firm innovation as an important mediator so that policies aim at raising ETR rates are eventually beneficial to product quality. Third, using the highly disaggregated data, we allow ETR rate to vary across different products, which is an improvement in the accuracy of previous literature. Finally, our research provides additional empirical evidence for revealing the micro-mechanism of ETR affecting firm behaviors.

Production of metalware is characterized with a great variety of shapes and sizes, originality of each product and a multiple-stage process. Various techniques used to process steel sections (such as cold and hot forming, machining, heat treatment, etc.) make it significantly more difficult to tackle product quality problems. Modern product quality management methodologies are based on a wide use of economical, organizational, technical and other methods. This paper describes a production-related quality control method involving certain elements of robust design. This method is based on the definition of noise factors and control parameters, as well as the conduction of noise and principal experiments. The noise experiment will help estimate the impact of disturbing factors (environmental or industrial) on product quality indicators, whereas the principal experiment will help identify the optimum production mode that can deliver the best quality and, at the same time, minimize the production losses. Robust design techniques can be effectively utilized to control the quality of metalware when developing new and optimizing the existing processes. The paper gives an example of how the quality of S10S steel bars can be controlled through the application of efficient production modes enabling to minimize quality-related costs.

 The paper analyzes structural alternatives in the implementation of infrastructure projects on the example of main gas pipelines. Particular attention is paid to the impact of various forms of procurement procedures on the course and result of the implementation of the infrastructure project as a whole. It is shown that the choice of procurement method can influence the structure of incentives and risks of the parties involved, as well as indirectly impact on the establishment of the market price setting, the level of product quality in the industry, and the complex cost of project implementation. Noting the extreme importance of the issues of ensuring the quality of the products used, the authors review the available structural alternatives for organizing quality control, show the possible mechanisms of the influence of the downtime of enterprises on reducing the level of industry competencies.

In this research revealed there is a gap between price and product quality that impact of consumer purchasing decision in children's clothing. Besides caused by the high growth of clothing shop outlets, the price and quality of products can also affect the purchasing decision of consumers in buying or consuming products. That makes the sales of KaosAnakFor Kids’ (KAFK) clothing shop products decrease in 2017-2018. This research aims to know whether the price and quality of the product influences in purchasing decision of KAFK’s clothing shop consumers. The factors tested in this research are price and product quality as independent variables, while purchasing decision as the dependent variable. This research used descriptive method, with data collection techniques through observation and questionnaire distribution. The population in this research is consumers of children's fashion products with a research sample of 150 respondents. Data analysis used Path Analysis to answer the research hypotheses. The results of measurement data through a questionnaire for the independent variables studied were in the form of ordinal data. To equalize the data of the ordinal scale independent variable with the interval scale independent variable, it should transform first into an interval scale using the LISREL program. The results showed that the two independent variables, namely price and product quality, had an effect on determining the dependent variable, namely consumer purchasing decision in children's clothing shop KaosAnak for Kids.

<p><em>To achieve the desired product quality, a quality standardization of the product is needed. This method is intended to ensure that the products produced meet the predetermined standards so that consumers will not lose confidence in the product concerned. The Method of research used is quantitative methods in order to obtain more comprehensive, valid, reliable, and objective data. The sample consists of 100 visitors who visited the Safary Milk D’Kandang Amazing Farm Depok, selected based on the Probability Sampling with Simple Random Sampling technique. The factor and simple linear regression analysis were used for the data analysis with SPSS 22.0.</em><em></em></p><p><em>                </em><em>The results of the study showed that product quality has a positive influence significantly contributed</em><em> </em><em> to the purchas</em><em>e</em><em> decision </em><em> </em><em>at the </em><em>Safary Milk D’Kandang Amazing Farm Depok (</em><em>t = 11.955 &gt; t <sub>table</sub> with a significance of 0.000 (ρ &lt; 0.05) and that is proved by the score of R = 0.770.</em><em> From the coefficient of determination, it can be concluded that the Purchas</em><em>e</em><em> Decision is influenced by the Product Quality variable by 59.3% and the remaining 40.7% which is influenced by other variables.</em><em></em></p><p><em>Keywords: Product Quality, Purchase Decision</em><em></em></p>

Afforestation and reforestation (AR) is an important component of China’s Greenhouse Gases (GHG) Voluntary Emission Reduction Program, acting as a valuable nationwide carbon sink. Although a number of studies have explored the costs of creating a carbon sink, such an assessment is lacking for China’s GHG Voluntary Emissions Reduction Program. This study develops an economic carbon sink costs measurement model for the Pinus elliottii afforestation project, based on the land opportunity cost method, which incorporates carbon sink transaction costs and leakage costs. From this, an empirical analysis on the carbon sink costs and its sensitivity factors was conducted. The results show that, firstly, the carbon sequestration costs of afforestation projects are generally high, ranging from 44.2 Yuan/tCO2e to 425.4 Yuan/tCO2e with and without considering the benefits of wood, respectively. This is higher than the current average carbon sink price of 20 Yuan/tCO2e. Secondly, forestry carbon sink transaction costs have a positive impact on carbon sequestration costs, but the impact is weak. Thirdly, carbon sequestration costs are negatively affected by timber prices but positively influenced by increasing labor prices and discount rate, which is not conductive to the development of carbon sink afforestation projects. In order to strengthen role of forestry in combating climate change, the study holds that the government departments should take measures to reduce carbon sink transaction costs, establish and improve the forestry carbon sink compensation mechanism in the future, and encourage wood-processing companies to make technological innovations to produce and sell durable wood products. The project owners can explore multiple operating models to increase their revenue, including market and non-market benefits, when the carbon sink afforestation project has been launched according to relevant methodologies.

Purpose It is critical to understand how global consumers evaluate the quality of Asian products while marketing Asian products in the global marketplaces. The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of Korea’s macro and micro country image and global consumers’ materialism level on the quality evaluation of Korean cosmetics among consumers in four countries. Design/methodology/approach Data from 900 participants were collected from consumers aged 20 or older living in economically developed countries (the USA and France) and economically developing countries (China and Vietnam) via professional online survey firms. Multiple regression analyses were used to analyze the data. Findings Along with the direct effect of macro and micro country image and materialism on product quality evaluation, a moderating effect of materialism and the respective country was discovered. Subsequently, the effect of macro country image on quality evaluation was found to be only significant in the USA and France and not in China and Vietnam. In contrast, the impact of micro country image was robust across all four countries. Furthermore, the effect of materialism on product quality was significant only in Vietnam. This implies that materialistic consumers in emerging markets might have favorable perceptions regarding the quality of Korean cosmetics. Originality/value This study advances country image research by providing new theoretical and managerial implications for countries whose image is less distinctive with respect to the effective marketing of products by the destination countries’ development status and consumers’ familiarity.

In the residential area under the impact of emissions from non-ferrous metallurgy and woodworking industry, the quality of atmospheric air was shown to fail to meet the requirements of hygienic standards for the content of suspended solids in air [≤ 4 MPC for maximal single dose (MPCmsd), ≤ 12.5 MPC for average daily dose (MPCadd), phenol (≤ 5.6 MPCmsd, ≤ 4.83 MPCadd), formaldehyde (≤ 1.56 MPCmsd, ≤ 6.58 MPCadd), fluoride gaseous compounds (≤ 3.75 MPCmsd, ≤ 12.4 MPCadd), etc. The quality of potable water in the centralized water supply system from surface water source corresponds to hygienic standards but, and in drinking water from the underground water source hygienic standards of iron content are exceeded (up to 1.1 MPC, 3.6% of samples). Also, in the study area, exceedances of permissible concentrations in lead soils are observed up to 2.09 MAC (7.84% of samples) and fluorine up to 4.68 MPC (87.04% of samples). The individual carcinogenic risk for the children of the study area is, on average, 1.18 ∙ 10-3, for the adult population, an average of 5.25 ∙ 10-3, and exceeds the acceptable level of carcinogenic risk by about 52.5 times. The individual non-carcinogenic risk for the short-term exposure to chemicals is by up to 9 times higher than the acceptable level. The individual non-carcinogenic risk for the chronic multimodal intake of the studied chemicals exceeds the permissible value of the total hazard index by to 33.4 times with respect to respiratory disorders. Priority factors that determine the level of risk to public health are chemicals present in emissions from enterprises producing primary aluminum (Benz(a)pyrene, fluorides, sulfur dioxide, suspended substances) and cellulose (phenol, methyl mercaptan).

In the era of the Covid-19 pandemic, all activities are forced to adapt to the Disruption Era, one of which is the education sector. The era of Disruption Covid-19 changed the learning system from face to face to online and did not change the quality of the learning process. Therefore, the Furniture and Wood Processing Industry Polytechnic must create a new framework in order to survive. This study aims to create a new framework that has the perspectives of various stakeholders such as government, industry, academic institutions, certification institutions, students and technological developments. The making of this framework is based on PEST analysis and a drives competitive for universities according to (Panday, 2014). The result of the framework for the Wood Furniture and Processing Industry Polytechnic are implementation health protocol for Covid-19, improvement of facilities dan infrastructure, creating income from teaching factory, SDM adaptation for improvement facilities and infrastructure, and quality assurance of graduates. The next step is to carry out monitoring and evaluation (MONEV) so that the implementation of framework runs according to the references and targets.

The automation of production is an important element in the functioning of any production enterprise. The aim of this article is to analyze the quality of the product made manually with the use of spot-welding machines and to analyze the quality of the product made by the industrial robot type "Fanuc Robotics S-420i". The analyzed product was the front panel of the body, made of semi-finished products in the spot-welding process. During the analysis, the impact of production automation on the product quality was found. Applications of the robotized welding process are used not only because of better quality parameters, but also because of the significant reduction of production costs and less fatigue of employees. The robot operator is a quality controller and contributes to quality management.
